Don’t waste your money. this place is extremely small and only has 1-2 interesting things. Further more, the worker that was suppose to host our group was extremely rude not just once, but the entire time. It was so bad that we left very quickly. The most enjoyable part was when the kids played together for a few in minutes the play area and that is because the host was not in there with us. We could have had a free park day and not spent any money, we would have been better off at the park. We will never return.

A nice little museum. My 5YO had been wanting to go for a while, so I had a day off when it was open, and we went.She enjoyed the play area, especially the little house, and it amused her for about 45 minutes (may have lasted longer if other kids had been there to play with). The play area has a 2 story play home, a fire pole (with ladder so one can slide down onto VERY padded mats), the hose part of a truck (one can remove and reattach hoses), the cab of a fire truck, and some dress up. It is very small, but for the price, its a nice diversion.The actual museum was interesting, if a bit small. Kiddo liked going upstairs and the little on call area downstairs- kind of a glimpse into how it used to be. I enjoyed the architecture.Staff were very kind and friendly, and since we went on a Thursday morning, street parking was extremely easy. Gift shop prices were on the mark.

Very cool history of the fire department in Houston Texas

Interesting but very small. Located in an historic building, it features an 1890 pumper and a 1937 Chevrolet fire truck. A small collection of fire service related tools of the trade from the last 100 years +. Very narrow steep stairs lead to the second floor. I do not recommend that for the disabled or aged. At $5 its a bargain to visit. Separate childrens Are a to give them a place to run around and scream without disrupting the rest of the museum.

Inexpensive and interesting. We stayed for 2 hours - 30 minutes in the museum, and an hour and a half in the play room. Our kids could have spent all day there pretending to be firemen!

Very small, but, very interesting. It is a hidden gem in the ever growing downtown area. It is loaded with artifacts and information and is fair priced. My only semi complaint is the very limited parking, but, its not impossible to find a good spot. Definitely worth a visit to pay respect to the men and women who risk their lives for us.

Kids friendly, a nice little museum. The places are accessible, and no problem with the parking lot. Education spot, friendly people and worker.

Its so full of history and my little guy loved it ! The staff is very friendly and helpful too.

Fun but small for the price (which isnt much in the first place, but would rather spend it on the cool things in their gift shop). We didnt have to pay though because the upstairs was closed off due to some issues they were having. The people were really nice about it. The fire trucks on the lower level were cool and my son enjoyed the childrens room. Thats pretty much all there was to see on the first floor though, so we didnt see much. Its a bit run down. Some of the Google photos that are posted are much nicer than it looks right now. Could use some TLC.

If you are going with kids under 5 and hoping to get into the kid room, dont go on a Saturday. They have private parties in the kids room on Saturdays and other guests of the museum are not allowed in.The ~3 other rooms were interesting enough for the kids, but only for about 15 minutes before wed seen everything and were ready to go. Definitely not the amount of time I was expecting to spend at the museum!An adult could probably read and experience everything in about 45 minutes.

Theres a piece of the world trade center here, a real firetruck cab, and a 1937 fire truck in the lobby. Lots of souvenirs!

Unfortunately the upper floor was closed for renovation when I visited. Small museum but a few interesting exhibits.

Childrens play area closed to public every other sat.......
