I took a 2 hr private lesson with Trevor and had such an awesome, and tiring, experience that I immediately booked a second session a few days later, with Chad. Both instructors were great. They were very friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive. They both knew when to nudge me appropriately out of my comfort zone or when I needed some help with a paddle assist back out for another ride. The setting, Pops, was beautiful and waves were perfect both days. The online booking was easy, reliable and informative. Also the sense of humor in the FAQs was bonus.This was the best part of my Hawaii trip by far

My buddy and I wanted to surf and we are not as young as our minds tell us we are. Our wives laughed when we told them. When we met the team and signed up, I knew we were in for a great time. They helped us understand what to do and not to do quickly on shore and then off to the waves. I have not had that kind of fun in a long time. What a blast. The guides were professional, helpful, and funny! Best money Ive spent on the Islands in a long time!

Ive had numerous lessons with GSH with Shawn, Trevor and Kaz and i can say these guys not only know the breaks inside out, but are extremely excellent surfers and ready to provide a wealth of tips for you to improve your skills. Every session i learn something new and the guys are also great guys who love what they do. You want to be taught by guys who know the breaks inside out and have the ability to handle any surf so they can help you navigate the breaks and put you in the best position to get epic rides. These guys are it. Highly recommended.

My wife and I visited in September 2019 and had a great lesson with Shawn!We had a 20 minute lesson on the shore before hitting the waves where we both managed to stand before I felt a sea sick. Great lesson though and we would definitely recommend it!

Best ever time with Kaz and Shaun. Safe. Caught waves which would NEVER happen without their help. Me and my husband were there in December and February for a week each time, and want to go back soon. Try this school first as others we will not go back to as not dedicated to the client, not attentive, lazy.

Me and my Girlfriend had the most awesome Surfing-lessons we ever had at Gone Surfing Hawaii !!!They have incredible nice teachers who made us have unbelievable progress in a short time.I recommend it to everyone !

Great teaching! First 20 minutes on ground is a great help to get ready and prepared, useful tips and tricks, then in the water! Great chats and help on how to take and get up on the wave!Love it now, gonna ride some waves now! ;)

Excellent surf school, supa friendly staff, made me feel very comfortable out in the water. You will be standing up first lesson for sure! A big bonus I thought was the fact that they take you out to what seemed to be a quieter break (by comparison to the mega crowds closer to shore).

Aloha!Here to spread the gospel!I booked Gone Surfing after researching the different breaks in the area and saw they go to Populars (Pops) which has really long mellow rights. Sounded perfect for learning. The paddle out was about 3 times farther than the other schools so the waves are actual waves!I go to the spot in the directions a little early, pop a seat, and after a few minutes a guy walks up and asks if Im there for surf lessons. We chat for a sec about some stuff, I tell him I do a lot of wake surfing and paddle boarding, and how I predict it will be different (like my shoulders likely dying in 30 minutes, the art of finding waves, and turning with weight shift instead of leaning). He took that info, shortened the land demo, and popped us out on some boards.My jaw hurt so bad after that two hour lesson because I had the biggest smile on my face the entire time! Im telling you, it was freaking awesome. My instructor, Caz, had all the strength in the world to tow my kook shoulders around and would give me an extra little push to make sure Id catch each wave. It was exactly what I was looking for.I went back this morning to rent a board and ended up catching some waves with Caz again while he was out for his morning bday surf. That guy just lives it.Ive only been here for two days and this is already my favorite vacation ever. First time in Honolulu and I definitely want to come back. Big shout out to Gone Surfing and a huge shout out to Caz for making some seriously memorable moments! Sean (sp?), another instructor who was out while we were out too, was also incredibly friendly and helpful. This is definitely the highlight of the trip and I cant wait to go rent a board from them again.Mahalo!Dave

Excellent team, coaches are exceptional, they made us feel comfortable and passionately taught surfing to kids. My children did great in just one session and they wanted to go back to the classes again.

Awesome staff, very knowledgeable and can find you a nice quiet break. We had Trevor and had a blast, the 2 hours flew by.
