During COVID-19, its nice to have a beach just for Island residents!

Clean beach. Snotty people. Life guards on duty during the day time. Brown pelicans are fun to watch. Sand is soft, tons of shells! Loved everything except the other beachgoers!

Absolutely gorgeous. Recycling bins, trash cans, lifeguards at the ready, places to rent umbrellas and chairs. TONS of space between people. This beach is VERY well combed so its not the place to get shells (Go to Fish Haul beach for that). We will visit again anytime were in the area. Theres also a place to rinse off your feet, some swing sets. Parking by permit only.

I went there in October. It was cool and rainy, so I didnt spend much time there. It was still very pretty there and would definitely go back in a nicer day.

So enjoyed my day at this park. The atmosphere was so inviting and relaxing. The beach wasnt over crowded. There is great access to the amenities, the only concern that I had because it was my first time there was the availability public parking. There arent enough public parking spaces to my knowledge and couldnt find a kiosk of some sort to get change for the parking meter, but I will be returning.

It was nice enough... Lovely smooth sand and clean water with waves that were not going to hurt anyone. Restrooms looked nice and clean and even had an AED machine on premises as well as showers.Nitpicking here, but in case it matters to anyone...I was not crazy about the long walk from the parking lot or the fact that non-residents needed to use quarter meters. Unfortunately, I had just used all but 4 of my quarters for the toll to get to HH! Therefore, we were only able to stay for 1 hour.We decided to look for a different beach with free parking and went over to Mitchellsville/Fish Haul Beach. The car GPS did not get us to the right parking lot but we did find it with the help of the Maps app. I preferred this smaller beach because it was not so crowded, had more things of interest along the shore, plus was only a short walk from the parking lot. Has had a restroom also.

Love this beach park but ever since COVID they have been closing the parking to anyone who does not have an annual parking pass. We used to feed the meters to park here but the meters are now covered and they are towing cars with no sticker. Not cool. We live here full time and have a Hilton Head Island address but since we are not in the town limits we cannot get a pass. First world problems i know but it is very annoying.

Islanders Beach Park offers everything you need for a family with kids...a clean playground, a nice eating gazibo, beautiful beach access and clean restrooms. We visit Hilton Head 6-8 times a year and we almost always make at least one trip to Islanders Beach Park because the kids love the playground, the swings, the gazibo eating area and the semi-private beach access. The restrooms are consistently cleaned plus the beach access has a nice hard blue rubber mat that takes anyone with a stroller or rolling beach buggy straight on to the harder sand if the beach. The playground us very well maintained and has a well deesigned flow, allowing parents to easily watch their kids, even if they have multiple that all like different things (like our three). The trees and open ground are great for kicking a ball with the kids, while having full visibility to the kids on the playground and the swings. Just be careful not to kick the ball too high or it could get stuck in a tree (see attached photo), that might take 50-60 throws of a stick to get down (notice the full action picture attached...I did finally get it down). The kids also love the cool alligator bike rack when you approach the steps to the beach access (see photos attached). The beach view from the beach access is beautiful and the ramp is well-maintained along with the rinse off area, avoiding splinters even if you or the kids choose not to wear shoes (we choose to pick our battles with the kids). This is definitely one of our favorite parks and the paid parking is definitely worth it, but remember to bring quarters since they havent converted to credit cards yet.

Review №26

A very nice, relatively quiet beach. Not as busy as other beaches on Hilton Head, so plenty of room to set up for a big family. A Life Guard was on duty when we were there as well. Restroom / showers were well maintained. Parking was by quarters only, at $1 an hour, so really cheap. Its a longer boardwalk to the beach itself, so carry what you can to save multiple trips! But, on a whole it was a great experience. We will be going back again. If on Hilton Head and want a break from large crowds, this is a good spot to go!

At low tide, the beach was open - not terribly crowded. As the tide came in, social distancing became a problem; too crowded for my comfort zone.

Large parking lot close to the pavilion with bathrooms and a large park for the kids. One you walk the sidewalk and steps up the pavilion you come out the walkway that leads straight to the beach. Great day.

Ry
Review №31

The beach is really clean and everyone was really respectful of other peoples space. The sand was pretty clean and the ocean was awesome. The waves dont get very big, which is a pro or con depending on what you want out of a beach trip, but youre probably not going to be able to surf any waves here.

Every islanders has their favorite beach: this is mine. And my dogs! Plenty of shady parking, a picnic and playground area, lots of showers and bathrooms, and a huge beach past a well-preserved dune line. Beach life as it should be.

Basic nice Hilton Head island Beach. Metered parking and not much of it. July and August its hot and the water warm- not much relief. Be alert for jellyfish- the nettle kind. Cant see them. Better to come earlier in year to take advantage of sand and swimming. There is a restroom in park before you enter beach area.

We always like coming here whenever we plan for beach evenings. I find it very clean and the crowd is nice too. Weekends are busier compare to weekdays but not too crowded. You will always find your sweet spot to sit, relax and enjoy. Make sure to bring enough quarters for parking meters if you dont have yearly parking permit from the county.

This was a nice beach, even has a lifeguard on duty. Was very crowded on the beach. Parking area is limited with only 25 or so metered spaces for you to park in without a town pass. Cost is $1 per hour so if you can find a spot it is reasonable. There are also facilities onsite, which were clean for the most part. In addition they have freestanding showers so you can wash the sand off your body.

Really RUDE..more of the East coast mentality..This use to allow visitors to pay at meter for walking the beach but just like Naples, Fort Myers they come down and lock up our beaches for themselves and other local residence are pushed out of their own beaches..I think the Gulf co ast should do the same then for any of their pristine beaches and make them pay a fortune.Take your rudeness back homeNO MY MD NC etc
