Byron was Awesome!! He taught my kiddos(12 and 10year olds) to surf. They were standing up immediately and caught a ton of waves. They loved it and are already asking for more. They had a blast, best summer activity. We definitely will be coming back for more fun with Byron and his amazing crew. Thanks for surf lesson and eco education.

Phenomenal. Byron is very friendly, fun, knowledgeable and excellent with kids. On our 2 hr sunset tour we got to see dozens of different birds, several pods of dolphins up close and kids collected some sharks teeth. Great photo ops. Highly recommend.

We used this company for shark fishing! It was the most wonderful time! We had captain Nick! He was amazing he showed us what to do and how things worked. We caught 8 sharks and 3 stingrays! I would definitely recommend!

Wonderful experience for my daughter never tried surfing before and was pretty apprehensive. But within 30 seconds with Byron and his team she was comfortable felt safe and before you know it was gleefully riding waves! What a special day run by a very special person

From beginning to end, my experience with Native son was top notch. Byron was quick to respond and book our 5 hour charter. Captain Nick was professional and knowledgeable. We bent our rods and got some sharks to the boat as well as seeing dozens of dolphins and even some sea turtles. Our shark toothing trip was a memory my family and I won’t soon forget. The shark tooth hunt is a must do! Capt. Byron is knowledgable and entertaining while navigating our local waters. Fishing with him is awesome too! I think the man has gills himself. I use him when I have friends and family visiting. 5 Stars!!!! Hilton Head must do.

We spent 8 hours with Capt. Byron on a FANTASTIC adventure. We found many sharks teeth, cool shells, one baby megalodon tooth, and then went deep sea fishing. We caught our dinner! We couldnt have asked for a more informative, special day with someone who knows this area and these waters very well. Everyone, from the grandkids to the grandparents, are still talking about our adventure from four days ago. You absolutely cant go wrong spending a day with Native Son!!!

We had a great morning with Cory. Everyone from our 5 year old daughter to her grandmother was able to catch a shark. We also were able to find some sharks teeth and shells, catch several crabs and watch dolphins multiple times. There was very good communication in advance and Byron and Cory were both very flexible to plan a custom outing with a variety of activity for our family. I lost count how many times our daughter said awesome that morning.

Native Son was hands down the best fishing trip we’ve been on! Hurricane Dorian looming on the coast made us a little worried about going out but after talking to Byron and reviewing the weather and winds they found the perfect day and time to go. Captain Corey was super laid back and perfect for us. Original spot to fish didn’t have any hits :(. Not to worry these Corey knew the waters and the wildlife so well in Hilton Head that he had several back up plans to make the trip worth it. We ended up catching 8 small sharks (variety of types), a whiting, 2 southern sting rays, a red fish, and last but not least we got to see several dolphins up close and personal! (Side note: it was mating season for dolphins....cover your eyes kids!) Absolutely recommend Native Son with Corey! Loved it!

This was the best part of our vacation. We took my father and law out for a late Father’s Day present and it could have not been any better. We only did a couple of house but my son and his grandfather got to reel in 2 sharks and hold them for pictures and even had dolphins that were hanging out with us while we fished. It was a perfect trip and are already planning on doing a much longer trip next time we are in Hilton head.

Learning to surf with Native Son was a life changing experience. Byron was so fun and relaxed, it was amazing! His passion for the ocean and its inhabitants was very clear which made the experience so important. Id recommend it to anyone even remotely interested in surfing.

Talk about fun ... serious fun! A week ago my daughter and I took a trip with Byron, specifically to go shark tooth hunting. My expectations were for a nice boat ride, a bit of exploring, and maybe a few little shark teeth.Instead, we got so much more! We zipped through the maze of marsh backwaters that he knows like the back of his hand and pulled up on a beach head where he swore we could find some teeth.We jumped off the boat and within 10 feet, I found my first perfect tooth. Enthused and encouraged, we split up and headed in different directions with our heads down and our eyes peeled. Every time we found one -usually an inch or two long - you could hear a yahoo but, of course, we were all hoping to find the Mac Daddy of sharks teeth - the MeglodonThose were millions of years old and HUGE.When I found the first one, barely showing at the edge of marsh grass, my 60+year old body did a happy dance that surprised even me.By the end of the day, we all had at least one Meglodon and bunches of smaller ones from bull, mako, sand, and hammerheads.The best part of the adventure was hanging with Byron - his energy is boundless, his humor is infectious, and he definitely knows how to make sure his clients laugh, learn, and have a grand ol time.

Captain Cory is such a good soul and fine gentleman. He understood that Zeus, the Genie Of Knoxville was a bit nervous about getting out on a boat. However he assured Zeus that the Native Son Adventures had a great boat and life preservers - it would be a safe experience.We just wanted an exploration ride around the sound. There was a dense fog, but Captain Cory and the company obliged. It was a great treat! Zeus enjoyed being out on the water very much. The Genie went on and on about what a wonderful time he had out on the water - this is coming from a man who said Genies don’t like water. Lol! Captain Cory placed fear at bay and created a wonderful enchanting tour through the fog. The historical narrative he shared along the way was so intriguing. I highly recommend Captain Cory and this wonderful charter if you have anyone in your party not so certain about getting out on a boat.I enjoyed the whole experience!! I want to book with them again when I come back to visit my family! Five star custom boat excursion!!!!

My family has had multiple ADVENTURES with the NATIVE SON, Byron Sewell. I highly recommend a family surf lesson, fishing trip in the ocean or surrounding rivers! Had a fantastic day filled with shark teeth hunting, fishing, exploring the low lands, dolphin watching, a great meal on Daufuskie Island, and surfing. It was the perfect way to finish our trip to Hilton Head Island. My nine-year-old had a day he will never forget. Thanks Byron!

Native Son, Byron Sewell put together an unforgettable adventure for my 10 year old grandson that the two of us will never forget. His surfing lessons are also great. I’ve been fishing with Capt Byron the last three years on our annual family HHI trip. Byron is a great guide both from a fishing and personal experience perspective.
