Such a fun experience and the Island Winery. The tastings were very affordable, the atmosphere was cute and very chic. This is best to do with a group of friends or a significant other. ALSO! if you want to have fun and feel like a sommelier, grab a pen from the desk and write what you taste on the list provided to you and compare note with your friends. A great time was had by all when we visited
A good variety of wines to choose from. Very friendly, helpful service. Reasonable prices. If you like wine, youve got to try this! A flavor for everyone!!
Best wine we have had. The new location is wonderful. They also ship!
Nice little place to hang out and enjoy some different wine.
Nice variety of samples along with very friendly wait staff. Would recommend a visit.
The staff was friendly, the wine was delicious. It was a cheap date night idea while vacationing on the island, I would definitely go here more often if I lived closer!!
We love this place! It appears to be a new and beautiful building. Lorie and Nancy took great care of us and we took advantage of the 6 wines for $10 - I loved the Malbec and blueberry wine, and my wife loved the 2018 Merlot. Lorie even gave Flavor Ice popsicles to our 3 kids to keep them busy. We easily couldve stayed here for hours. They have indoor air conditioned tasting room and also tables outside with a conservation view. Cant wait to come back next time were on HHI!
Really great place to get some really great wines. We ended buying a case.
Great wine to try out and to enjoy while in town. Best local wine with terrific pricing. You will not be disappointed and you’ll be walking outta here with a few bottles. Stop by if you get a chance, try the cheese platter... you will want to come back again. We love the people here, so nice and helpful when doing the wine tasting.
Great place to hang out with some good wine
Friendly staff! Had a great time!
Excellent service and friendly bartender. Highly recommend!
Great wine and service
Fantastic people that explained the wines and helped us with our tasting. They feature distinct and tasty wines that were fun to taste. I also like their deals of the cost of the tasting is discounted from any wine purchases. Glad we stopped by!
Great place, service and wine!
I planned to take my wife here for her birthday. We got to the store and told them we wanted the island experience for two. We were told that was only available online (WHICH IS NOT STATED ON THE WEBSITE). The employees said this has happended several times, but the owner told them she believes the website is correct. I was then going to purchase the voucher online. I was that since the owner wasnt in it would take at least 10 hours to email the certificate (that is online).
It was interesting to visit a local winery producing from fresh grapes imported from around the world. Muscadine wine is always a good local favorite for me and the Riesling was crisp, refreshing and not too sweet. Taking a few bottles of those home with me this weekend.
The worst wine I have ever had. Honestly worst experience we have had. We live in the mountains and visit winerays all the time. We walked in the door and first thing was someone asking us for the $5.00 tasting. Then no explanation on the wine we were trying other then telling me that it was from an oak barrel. They were not rude, but will never go back or recommend.
$ tasting and if you buy a bottle it comes off the price! Good wines. Welcoming owner.
We had a wonderful afternoon. The selection of wines included something for everyone. We loved the Low Country Specialty Wines which you can only find here. The staff was very kind and made the experience fun!
Decent wines. Customer service was very lacking with the lady who served us. Try Carolina Tasting room at Coligny plaza for good service instead.
Probably the worst winery experience I have ever had. Both customer service and the wine was horrible. I would not recommend wasting your time on this spot.
Great local winery with very reasonable tasting price. Great welcoming team working there. Finally made it there after living here for two years. We really enjoyed the wine and bought a couple of bottles. Will be back.
Very helpful staff at the tasting room. Quite knowledgeable regarding their products. I highly recommend the staff. I look forward to my next visit.
Pretty good wine for a small winery! Several good reds available.
Very fun place and friendly staff! We made a day of the brewery, winery and distillery down the street.
They have a nice tasting room and a second space with barrels where you can hang out. The winery has made some interesting fruit based wines which were so good we purchased several. The tasting was all free for 6 wines which was very nice.
Always a fun time!
Delicious wine, great indoor atmosphere and a nice quiet place to enjoy
The ladies were very nice and informative. Im looking forward to enjoying our bottle of BlackBerry wine!
We had a bit of a complex start to our experience. As you all know, when vacationing on an island, you don’t always make plans well ahead of time. Some activities are based on the weather, as you will notice by the flow of customers when you visit here. We made our couples package reservation about 3 hours before we arrived. The website does say that the invoice will be sent WITHIN 12 hours, and the receipt sent right away. I called, and they said no problem, you can still come in, just show the receipt and respond to the email that you will be coming sooner than the invoice might be sent(they weren’t sure exactly what time the invoice would be sent WITHIN 12 hours). When we got there, the attendant gave us a lot of grief about this and wouldn’t let us proceed. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t send the invoice right away on an island(island/vacation time mentality?), or be reluctant to serve someone when they have a receipt in hand, and have already spent $75 on your wine, likely to spend a lot more. She told us to come back tomorrow. After explaining our tight schedule, she eventually came around and let us continue to taste with just the receipt of sale because we were leaving the next morning. We came really close to asking for our money back right before she complied. Good thing she did, because they would have been out $300 on an wine sale. The service sucked, but the wine was decent. The cheese board was nothing special. 3 domestic cheeses, a few crackers, and a handful of grapes. With the recent popularity of charcuterie, this is pretty bland. If you open a bottle of wine that you bought, you must finish it and they refuse to re cork or give you the cork back. Note: only one of the wines has grapes that originate on or near the island(found wildly). ALL others are imported domestically. You aren’t really buying anything unique except the bottle design.
Great fun. Staff friendly and helpful and other customers fun to meet.
Fun place to check out. The staff & other visitors were fun.
First of all, this was not at all what I expected based on trips to other wineries. It, as others said, is a store front. It isnt cute (well, the sign is cute, but thats about it). You walk in and there are a few tables, and another room with wine barrels and a few more tables. You can try wine for free, which is nice, but awkward to stop in, have a few sips, and hit the road. We split 3 flights of wine and a cheese plate for $10, which wasnt bad. Had the peach wine, the blueberry wine, and one that was similar to Sangria. All the wines were very good. Most of the cheese was pretty good, served with some Ritz crackers. We sat in the back room, which wouldve been cozy with the barrels, except through them you could see random supplies - paint brushes in the sink, shovels, etc.Not a bad way to kill a bit of time, but dont go with high hopes.
Basically turned us away because we were 15 minutes away from closing. Six people willing to spend money.
Not what we really expected. This place was a store front. You walk in and theres a bunch of bottles and you can get some wine tastings. You make your selection and you leave. Other places weve been to are more of a true winery where this location is more of a store front as said before. The wines were unique and flavorful. Our opinion is that they may cost a little more than they are worth. Most bottles were in the range of $20 (approximation). The staff at this location were very nice and friendly.
Not your typical winery, but they had some great nontypical wine and very friendly staff. They were very accommodating to our 2½ y/o who we had with us. They gave her her own little bowl of snacks and a water while we did our free tasting.
We did the wine tasting excursion... The blueberry, muscadine and margarita wines are our favs. Its well worth a try.
Great place for wine tasting, nice and quiet, very good wine selection and quality, the lady was very knowledgeable and pleasant, I definitely recommend this place!
Great people and great wine! We always make sure to stop in whenever were in town.
Great wine and atmosphere, the employess were friendly and the prices are hard to beat for the quality.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our party sat around and talked past closing time, by accident . The staff was patient and did not let us know they were closed. Oops and thank you
Very nice selection of wines, we had to bring six bottles home it was so good
Super friendly. Large tasting selection for only $5.
Great friendly help and nice selection of wines. Off the beaten bath but well worth visiting for some good tasting wines and friendly service.
Great local find.....Educated in wine...Youll be pleased with selection, price and experience
Very good & informative!!
Rude staff wine was awful not worth your time
The wine was very tasty and the staff were cordial.
The fresh different taste and the friendly staff
Wonderful
Great choices
Very friendly with six complimentary tastings. Two favorites reds, the Carmenere and 2014 Mission.
