As a person who shows animals and every year gets to have the full Umatilla county fair experience I am so great full that we are so lucky to get a fair and I love it as a 4-h/FFA member who raises animals and shows/sells animals at the fair I love the overall atmosphere of the fair because others may not see it but all of the people who are involved with entertaining folks around here we enjoy it so much and are so heart broken that we will not be able to attend fair the year of 2020 but we are prepared and excited for next year and other years to come.
It was fun. Although some of the rides were broke down. The Hangglider ride was cool. Food was limited. BBQ and fried everything or Chinese. Need more attractions in the empty spots throughout the grounds. A Lot of the rides are outdated and worn down. The mirror house needs retired. another thing. Kind of strange, very few of the ride operators spoke or understood English. Not a problem really. But it made it seem kinda dull for kid excitement. If they interact with people they might have a bit of fun. That was the first day. Staff is all across the board. Lol. Some are friendly. Most are acting like its slave camp.
Best fair ever. My daughter and I live for it
Just a scam to get money for parking. No pick up/drop off area, also the STATE fair only cost $3, COUNTY fair $10 total ripoff
The new fair ground is nearly void of shade and places to sit down and enjoy your food. Eating is a prime draw to fair grounds wouldnt you agree? Its typically very hot during the fair in Umatilla. The carnival rides did not have sufficient staffing. My grandkids were in line for some time for the swings only to be told that it would be closed for 45 minutes. This year was very disappointing as compared to previous years.
More money for a lot less, more than half the vendors gone, no 4H animals, no grass + trees, not alot of room for anything, the Hermiston feeling is all gone, used to spend all day at the old fair grounds and now I get bored in less than an hour at the new fair grounds....looks baren without all the buildings like the old fair grounds had....not a lot of people there when I went and it was in the afternoon
No place to sit, need benches like the Pendleton round up
