Great hike, absolutely worthwhile, a little bit scary at night but it was still an incredible experience. If youre in the area give this location a visit!
So beautiful, and mystical place! Didnt hike just walk around a bit and took pictures. You need hiking shoes for sure a lot of rocks
Great trails lots of rocks and dirt so expect your shoes to be dusty ..i would recommend tube socks or ankle socks..to avoid small rocks getting inside your shoes
Beautiful setting! Great views and all level of trails to explore without leaving the valley.
Fantastic trail! Well marked, huge parking lot. Ups, downs, rocks, paths, twists and turns. Plenty of great vantage points to see the city. Beautiful desert wildflowers all over. Panoramic views they could be picturesque. Right in the backside of a community a true gem.
Went to this place expecting a flatland trail and it was a canyon hike. It was fun. A haven for cyclist.
I come here often on the weekend to train because there is a great network of trails to choose from. So whether I want to do a trail run, a heavy backpack hike, or want to get some great views from a mountaintop, you can find it all here. The trails can be as short as you want because they connect all over like a spider web, and if you want a long trail it connects to Anthem and is about 8 miles long each way, and it connects to the dry lake beds south of Boulder City which is about 13 miles each way. There are basic facilities like bathrooms and drinking fountains and there is a park just north of the main parking area with a grass field and playground for kids, as well as picnic tables. The place stays pretty clean.I see plenty of bikers, and from access to the East there are dirt bikes, ATVs and side-by-sides.The trail isnt very crowded, Ill usually see a couple of people per hour once Im away from the parking lot. There is a decent amount of wildlife. Tons of lizards, a couple of rattlesnakes, big desert tortoises (and babies) bunnies, chipmunks, quail, pigeons, roadrunners, and some birds of prey.
Great when social distancing but still want to get out!
Easy access to trail head with very rewarding views even if choosing not to finish hike. Let me tell you however if you do choose to spend the 3 hour hike to the top rewards of amazing views are to be seen. Steep mountain side walking is to come however the trail is well maintained and acomidation for a somewhat skilled hiker.
Nice and easy hiking trails. Beautiful views. Very clean.
Was a great experience. Will be going back again soon for sure. Even seen poor girl run into a bush and walk her bike back with a flat... i really liked the single track trails with the ups and downs. Seen a sign that said waterfall too, althought, i am not sure how farcit was to that but seemed it would be really far.
Close, but starting to get busy. Lots of auxiliary trails. Good for pets. Ir seems most pet owners clean up after their dogs here, yay!!
The trail was easy to find on Google Maps, and it was reasonably well-traveled but there are little to no markings for the different trails, and theres hardly no inclination. So if you want a little cardiovascular exercise or if you want to get up high to see the views from above you really should try another location
Easy to find trailhead and a gateway to a nice series of trails. Decent amount of parking for those wanting to enjoy the trails on foot or mountain bike. There is a bathroom and drinking fountain available at the trailhead, though the lock on the bathroom stall is broken. Still, it is a flushable toilet, so not the worst facilities in the world.
Nice view and an easy hike.
Easy for walking and cold when youre on the top of the hill
This is a very nice place to walk and mountain bike nothing super awesome for mounting biking but some nice trails and lots of flow. Very pretty n very well set up.
The start of two bikeable and walkable trails on the edge of town. Nice!
Awesome scenic place.. lots of mountainbike trails out there
Great trail. I think it would be best at twilight. Lovely city views
Awesome area to hike. I will be back.
Great place to hike and bike close to Henderson
Dog friendly and super easy to find using Google Maps. Went around 10am on a Saturday and there were maybe 20 cars in the parking lot. The trailhead has a parking lot, by the way. I went on a trail to the right of the Sloan Canyon sign and it took me to a point at the top where you get a nice view of the strip and Henderson. The place is so big that I only crossed paths with two hikers who were super nice. Only did a two hour hike because the ground was rough on my dogs paw pads. Saw bikers and trail riders/horseback riders if anyone is wondering. This place was pretty well maintained.
These are popular trails to hike on so expect to constantly run into other people. Its nice that you can choose different ways to go then the last time you were out there because there are so many different trails that break off from each other. A lot of the trails are that really loose dirt and rocks that love to kick up and get inside your shoes or boots so tie them up tight.
Scenic place with ample parking spots.
Great hike and views.
Great hiking spot.
Great neighborhood trail and park. Be watchful of your trail though! No signs.
Great views and perfect place to hike. However, this is not a novice mountain bike trail. Fun coming down, not so much going up
Really nice kids really enjoyed
Great trail system! Great views, lots of options!
8 miles from end to end! My dogs love this trail this time of year.
Nice place to hike
Great hiking area for distance, not much in the way of much to look at, but you will have a excellent hike.
The trail is clearly marked and naturally beautiful! There is not shade & it is a desert, so prepare with sufficient water. There are occasionally reports of rattlesnakes at dusk time.
A real gem for outdoor activities at all levels. Picnic áreas and places to seat and restBathroom need a bit more attention
Great place for hiking, biking and trail running.!!!
Something for everyoneTrails are very well groomed
How could you not love this place?
We love hiking here!
We went for a night hike for our scout troop here. This was also a service project to clean up the trail as we walked the one mile up and back.Fun little hike and not very difficult. Even brought my six year old along and he was able to complete it without problems.
Great place to hike away from the city, they have a water fountain and a shared bathroom at the trailhead.
We like riding our horses at McCullough Hills Trail. They have hitching post there plus water and restrooms. We like to stay in the ravines where the sand is soft which pretty much stay along the trails.
Favorite local spot for fresh air, nice scenery and exercise. I feel removed from town even though Im not. Love the many trail options and varying terrain. Excellent for hiking or mountain bike riding.
Nice place to walk. Close to mountains
Ran Trail 601. It was marked until about the half way point and then I saw no markers. I reversed and did an out and back instead of a loop. Very nice running trail.
Great place for walking, hiking, trail running, and mountain biking. When it is a beautiful day out dont be surprised to see a lot of people hitting the trail! Very well maintained and groomed. Connects with a multitude of other trails so it is great for adventure. Be careful of snakes I have seen a few around, but they are slightly off trail usually.
Amazing fun
Fun trail. Well kept.
Always love this trail. So many paths to chose from. Although Ive never encountered any wildlife other than lizards and flying things, today I saw a very large, very angry sidewinder in the middle of the path, waiting. As I completely freaked out (stay calm...) and turned to run (stay calm and slowly back away) I tripped on a rock and landed very hard. Road rash and ripped hiking pants.Be careful and be prepared to meet up with a snake, at some point, this season.
Almost got bit by a diamond back
My 6 year old had a blast on this trail. Good for kids, and pets!
Easy and hard trails.
Gorgeous area
Loved this place! Many trails to explore. Stunning views dependent on the trail you choose.
Sloan Caynon is a network of biking/hiking trails right in Hendersons backyard. Almost any path is equally good for running, casual hiking, or fast MTBing. From here, you can also connect to Anthem park and beyond. Enjoyable for all ages and skill levels.
Came here today for the first time to mountain bike. Its awesome. Fast and slow sections to the trail. Lots of fun. Just really need to figure out how to not get lost. I went a bit far and trails were everywhere. Still great place to exercise.
Great trail system, but more complicated than the map indicates. Several splits in the trail but they all basically converge. For all the east coasters, note that the sun sets exceptionally fast in the dessert. I was 7 miles into a 10 mile run when it got pitch black at 7pm first week of October. Thankfully the moon was bright enough and the trail clear enough to keep running (albeit slower) and make it back to the parking area without rolling an ankle.
Great trail not too challenging
Horrible trail, with awful bathrooms. Stay away from this place. Venomous snakes are everywhere.
A nice trail, but not that difficult.
Great selections of multi-use trails, appropriate for hiking, biking, and even horseback riding. The trailhead has a bathroom with flush toilet, a water fountain, and a spigot.
Felt like I was far away from everything. Great hike. Quite a workout!
I only stayed on a low level trail for my first time. Had a great time as did my dog! I will definitely go back and explore more. Beautiful views.
One of the best places to hike. Novice or Expert its got it all
Nice place.
Great trail system for both hiking and mountain biking. Lots of options from easy to difficult for mtb.
Great trail not to hard to walk looks like a fun trail to run or bike
Fun place for biking
Great hiking paths. Was just a little worried wed find where we parked the car. Spent about 2 hours walking.
Great place to hike and explore! Cant wait to go back...
This is a sweet and moderate trail with several other trails as opportunities for hiking. The vistas are spectacular and surprisingly there is no congestion.
I love this place so much, its like my go to place when Im upset or need to have a brief respite from civilization. Its beautiful in he morning and watching the sunrise from around the radio tower area is amazing. Stay hydrated!
Beautiful and easy hiking
This trail goes all the way to Anthem Hills Park. It make for a great hike, just have someone pick you up at the other end! There are a few places to rest along the way, and they provide some decent shade. The trail does seem to meander a lot more than necessary at the beginning, but it is flat and perfect for mountain biking. Dont forget, bring lots of water!
Get a good night view of Vegas and Henderson without a tremendous amount of effort.
So many spiky plants...
Beautiful. 16 mile trail.
Great Walk for all activity levels. Short stroll or run or bicycle ride. Its absolutely beautiful .
A love this trail and all of its possibilities. Always enough people that you feel safe, but not so crowded that you cant feel part of nature.
Really beautiful!
Love walking my dog on the trails!
Great place to hike. beautiful scenery.
Quiet and peaceful place just on the edge of suburban life. Easy access and great views.
Nice easy walk for the kids and dogs and family. I dont however recommend going at night, we went out looking for Scorpions with a blacklight, we saw more coyotees then bugs. Very peaceful, mid summer night or early winter morning, youll enjoy it.
Great place to get away and trail run. There are tons of options.
As advertised. Well marked trails, good incline, nice views, and respectable parking lot with sufficient parking space on Sunday afternoon. Highly recommended!
When your hiking up it feels so hard to do but the moment you get at the top and see the the view it was all worth it
