The family and I go here all of the time. Fall is our favorite for sure. The leaves around the lake trail turn spectacular all October long. The trail is always well maintained but can get a little hard to follow in places when the leaves start falling, but we never wander off too far. Restrooms at the parking area.
Absolutely beautiful! My fiancee and I love it there. So serene and peaceful. My rating is top notched
Great place to go during the fall leaves are turning great access lots of walking path great family outing
Lots of shelters and picnic tables. The lake looked like it was once a thriving hot spot.
Ever since President Dump has cut funding for our national parks we havent had canoeing, the campgrounds are closed, and you get 1 star for the nice trails, and 1 star for the cleanliness. Vote Dump out
The park was very beautiful this time of year. I would love to come back when the leaves change color.
I love this place. If you need a quiet place to enjoy a nice peaceful day this is your place. Enjoy a stroll through the wooded trails with that special someone or take the kiddies for a play day on the swing set and slide. Stop in at the museum and learn about the birds that you have seen all your life but never really noticed. Learn about John Audubon and his family. Pack a picnic lunch and make memories that will be a delight for the rest of your days. The park hours are limited to the daylight hours but the fee is free. So give yourself a wonderful treat and stop in for a nice visit.
Love visiting this beautiful park.
So peaceful and beautiful!
Great place for a family with small children, fishing, there use to be paddle boat rental, cabins, information about John James A. His art work call ahead for Details some activities and event have scheduled times.
Always a nice park to visit.... The museum is a great place to go to & see what is on loan there. They have a large number of John James Audubons paintings and other items around. They have yearly sales in the park for paintings and arts and crafts. The camping area is a great place to stay at.The lake is stocked up. Always an easy catch of something for the kids. The cabins are a good place to just get away from the world for a few days.
We drove from out of town specifically on a Monday because the website says that the museum is open and free to the public on Monday. We get there only to see a sign in the front of the museum saying Closed Monday and Tuesday! Very disappointed!
Love it. Yes they have cabins. Go at least once a month...or more. Cabins built by poor boys in the 30s. Still gorgeous
Wonderful hiking trails. Well marked and well maintained.
Great place to take kids to walk the trails.. very clean
Has some really nice trails. They are not to long, but with some hills. Good place to stay in shape!
Beautiful park
Love this park, amazing enviroment, great trails to walk and peaceful place to relax, very very nice, we are hoping to stay another day if we can get in tomorrow, the Rangers are exceptionally nice here and very very helpful period on this occasion I was there to vote. My son has stayed in this campsite and says it is top notch.
Great, smaller, state park. Nice little golf course thats great for a quick game.
The trails are wonderful, they have such character . They are short, but they can be joined together for a longer hike. The park has cabins and a playground, and beautiful flowers and buildings.
Stayed in cottage 102. Its right on the lake. It was clean, quiet, and you can basically fish right out the back door. Very nice.
Great hiking for all ages and levels.
Just did first day hike of the year. It was fun and insightful. Ran into friends at the event. Lisa is a great guide and gave us lots of information about the park, the habitat and the wildlife.
Very interesting museum, dedicated to ornithologist and painter James John Audubon. Nice souvenir shop.Great trials and Recreation areas, playgrounds for kids. Summer 2018 has a wonderful camps for children of different ages. Great staff.
Lots of CCC camp history here. Beautiful Park
It a very nice place to take a hike.
Camping hiking swimming picnicking museum cabin rentals . Greatest place to visit.
Nice park the children loved it. When it was time to leave there were sad because they werent able to play on everything enough times!!!
All facilities we checked out were really clean and well maintained. The park is pet friendly and the grounds are well kept. Great place to spend several hours or the day.
Very convenient location but they gave been closed for 2 years now
Great places to visit and explore... Awesome
One of the best parks I have visited in Midwest. It is free to visit. There are some activities which cost small amount of money. You can enjoy Kayaking or Canoeing for only 6 dollars an hour. But you have to have cash or personal check. Stuff are super friendly. I go there more than 3 times a month. I like it so much.
They have many trails. A dog trail as well. Many hills so a good workout if you want it to be.
Great park but please what for deers.
Played tennis!
Always fun to explore...museum, nature trails, playground, lake, etc
Lovely place, one of my favorites. Historic cabins built as a CCC project during the great depression. A beautiful visitors center and lake. Close to Evansville.
Park a Joke. Out enhoying a day with family and pets and park ranger came up and ask us to do him a favor and NOT allow our dogs to play on playground. Wow dogs are our family. Warning signs up everywhere. Not enjoyable. Worst State Park ever.
Beautiful and charming national park. Has a museum, camping, golf, trails, lakes and picnic areas with grills.
Very boring I waste my day and time visiting this place.
Nice enough campground for staying a short time or to visit the casino. Some spots are tight to get in to and its not very big. Playground but not much else to do really. Price is decent.
Love this park especially in the summer. They have camp grounds for large camping homes and even for just a tent. Fishing in the big lake and trails to hike. A golf course and cabins you can rent on the lake and places to bar b q and hang out with friends and family. Pretty clean decent park.
One of my favorite places to go to
Wonderful museum with exceptional pieces and gallery
Beautiful, clean park. Nice fishing and hiking. Camping sites currently under renovation.
Our church has a church picnic there every year. Our church is in Elberfeld,In. But we enjoy the park.
Great cabin and accommodation s came here for Christmas celebration with family members
Very nice park
Wonderful place. Walked all but one trail
Nice shady, family friendly campground with playground for kids, small lake, John James Audubon museum at top of hill that is a must see for bird enthusiasts. Lots of great spots for campers and primitive spots for tents as well.
Beautiful park to visit during nice weather. They have a few cabins that can be rented. The walking trails are great and are different skill levels.
Awesome course
Fond memories of growing up. Shelters used for family reunions. Museum is very interesting.
Nice place. plenty of shade. decent hookups. a little road noise but, not bad enough to take away the fifth star. well be back
Easy to find. Clean facilities. You can see businesses and hear traffic from the campground. Otherwise nice.
A very nice state park.
Good place to hike, good museum
This is a good place to picnic but there campgrounds are close this year.
Peaceful, clean, see some deer, museum is really nice
John James Audubon State Park is awesome! From nature trails, to playgrounds, to golf, to priceless original Audubon prints and folios - this treasure of a park is not to be missed!
Beautiful, tree shaded campground. Clean grounds and bathrooms. Friendly staff. However, campground is located just a few hundred feet from a noisy, busy state route. Truck noises last throughout the night topped off by dumpsters being emptied in the pre-dawn hours.
Friendly people quiet and serene. Very peacefully place to camp or vacation
This park is not only historical but beautiful too. Much to my delight they have a museum that looks like a castle and it is set into the environment so that you can actually watch nature, such as birds, small animals and occasionally deer.
Love it. Great trails.
Beautiful Park. Dense forest. Play grounds for the kids. Hiking trails. Nice place for a picnic.
5 star is only for the woods
It is a nice shady campground with a helpful staff. The museum is informative.
This is our 2nd trip. They now have king beds!!! Stayed in cottage #102. This time for our honeymoon. Quiet, private, an scenic. Rate is reasonable. Enjoyed canoeing on the small lake. Steaks on The grill. Coffee on the back porch. Slow down when you get to Henderson Ky. stop in an get a cottage. Rustic an Layed back. Yet close to many dining options.
If you enjoy wildlife you need to visit Henderson KY s John James Audubon State Park. The park has walking trails, fishing, hiking paths, campgrounds and a beautiful museum of John James Audubons original work. I must place to stop when traveling through #HendersonKY .
Nice peacefull park with lots of wildlife
A fine example of the park system in the Bluegrass. Trails, festivals, events for child and like. Camping, golf, paddleboating, and plenty of portals! Thanks Jimmy!!
Beautiful park. Anyways seems to have a good event going on
Beautiful lake. We went in the winter but on a warmer day. It was very nice and remote.
What a gorgeous State Park! We camped there & had a great time.
Very nice calming area with many different walking trails that anyone can enjoy.
This is a beautiful park and underated fishing is great and its quiet big plus for me
Quiet and beautiful. Just as I ordered it. Fall colors are amazing.
Best state park in Kentucky. Fantastic collection of artwork and artifacts of naturalist John James Audubon in the museum
Rented canoes. Guy gave us quick lesson an it was so much fun fun fun fun
I would say the trails and the park are a hidden gem. I loved running the trails there and would consider a cabin.
Very nice park, but be warned, loud, obnoxious traffic comes in and out all hours of the night. Would be nice if there was an enforced quiet time.
Dogs are BANNED on 90% of the trails. They give you one trail of less than a mile What a waste of a park.
Beautiful as always... Nice friendly staff and very helpful and knowledgeable
Nice shaded park for campong. Showers and bathrooms are good.
Just spent the night, while traveling. It was a great, relaxing place to stay in. Reasonable rate.
Great place visit the website to see all they offer.
Nonstop bicycles and barking small dogs even late into the night. We have two labs so we have dogs also. We spend time with the so no barking and they are tought not to bark. Park shuts down at 11.00 pm. No quite time till 12.00 am. People with 10 screen tvs turned up loud. Tried playing music to drown them out, gave up went inside. Still heard the movie inside. Went to main office found the Park Ranger watching TV. Explained the problem to him only to get harrassed by a cocky JERK who started questioning me and rasied his voice( WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?) Try doing you job. Left only to get followed back to my campsite and he left again. This Job is perfect for him .NO supervision and you dont do anything but watch TV. ( WE WILL NEVER GO BACK) As far as the rest of the park the swimming area and boat rental and some cabins are closed for ever and left to rot away. Look a like a Ghost Town around the lake. Tall weeds in swimming area nice area for snakes not for family
