I have not been here while the festival is going on, and then there would be people all over the place but the depot is original to the Henderson Overton Branch railroad and served two different railroads. Missouri Pacific eventually acquired one of them and is represented with an original Mopac caboose on the grounds. Lots of local history to explore and learn in addition to the railroads, about the surrounding area. Recommend.
Stopped by for photo op. Place was closed up tight. Didnt look like it had been open in a long time.
Wonderful service from the staff! Excellent history information and artifacts from the area.
The new lady that works here has HORRIBLE people skills. She also couldnt answer one single question I asked. She jumped on me when I first pulled in the parking lot. She said rudely can I help you with something. I said no can I help you with something. She then says this is for employees you need to move are you here for the museum I said yes I am. She said then go park on the other side of the building. City of Henderson you made a mistake hiring this woman trust me. You will lose customers with her weird attitude.
Interactive play for the kids and awesome history of the area. Friendly staff and well maintained.
Lots of things to see and do at the syrup festival. Met some extremely talented people. Enjoyed our visit.
Great location at the Henderson Syrup Festival. Great staff who always help out so much!
Worth the detour on our trip
Daycare took the kids here for field trip. Really nice place the kids all had a great time
I actually do my community service here, and the staff is very nice. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxed. There is again free Wi-Fi.
Our family donated a sythe and cradle to the depot about 25 years ago. It was not put out so that people could see it. I have been trying to get it put out on display for several years. Finally, they put it out in the barn. Trouble is, they close the barn on syrup festival day so people still cant see it.
Absolutely love this place!! People that work there are wonderful! My grandson loves coming here & could spend hours using his imagination!!!
Nice visit

Very educational, fun for the kids
Loved the syrup festival, enjoyed watching them making sugar cane syrup
I always enjoy visiting this event.
It was a great day to spend with family. The food and nostalgic tractors, cars and trades. I’m coming every year I can.
This little museum in Texas is a hidden gem. They have a historical village that you can tour, a museum, a childrens discovery museum area, and a video to watch. The museum is small but is obviously created by the community as many artifacts have stories of the families that used them. Of special note was the cotton gin, an unusual addition to a typical historical village.
We went last year. It was very nice, us being history buffs ourselves...
Love this place especially during the syrup festival
Vicky and her crew at the Depot Museum always and I say always make you very special! Great place to see if youve never been there, and if you have been there, it is worth again :-)
