This is very nice and interesting place. They have small but educative museum for kids, in summer time they provide camps and do events. We were a Water Provider at the 10K on the Bay event and donate fresh and clean water, glass carafes and 2 water purification systems for Top winners. Thanks organizers for such a great event and we hope to work with you in a future events!

Great place for a peaceful run. It’s flat and a bit windy, so great for beginner trail running. There’s no water on the trail so plan accordingly. Also it is a marsh so if you come at low tide there’s that eggy smell.

The Hayward Shoreline is a nice place to go for a walk along the shoreline overlooking the bay and the wildlife marsh areas. The Interpretive Center is always a good visit to see the wildlife art or photography exhibits that is displayed there and changes every few months. Also very interesting in the center is seeing some of the native wildlife creatures in fish tanks or reptile cages. The staff is friendly and helpful on answering questions about the shoreline or the wildlife that lives here.

Grateful for the staff here and the HARD programs for kids and toddlers... Very good value and experience for a small cost. The programs range from science experiments, exploring, and even crafts to take home. The toddler ramble is run by Anne, and she is amazing. Best of all is that almost all of her activities are recreate-able at home with common goodies or from a supplier she is willing to share. The staff is also very knowledgeable about the marsh and shore and the toddler ramble concludes with a nice walk to a local edible plant called pickle weed. Always a hit with the kids.

Not only have I volunteered here but I also really enjoy the trail right next to it. Its a diamond in the rough for sure. I recommend everyone at some point in their life goes on the trail here. Theres beautiful ocean views and amazing wildlife to be seen. Theres salt flats that you can see that are home to the endangered bird the snowy plover. Quick tip: look at the fennel in front of the bridge for caterpillars.

Great for little ones. We were here to delivery cupcakes to a birthday party and stayed for the tank feeding and going outside to catch things in nets. Took a walk about a mile out and saw so many different sea birds. If we had our walking shoes on we would have gone further, but the gravel was killing us. Plan to go back and explore soon.

The Hayward Shoreline Center is really really nice. Just enough information without being intrusive and an incredible view from all angles. If you want to either look for birds or just get some wonderful fresh air in a quiet place, this is it. There are several trails so hike as little or as much as you want. The wildlife will...

This is one of the bigger interpretive centers in the East Bay. There are some great hands on displays for the kids inside and the staff is consistently friendly and eager to answer questions. They run some cool programs for kids out of this location and weve participated in some of their nature walks and explorations out on the marshes and beach. I highly recommend if you have young kids. Trails are stroller friendly, too (gravel road, so not the fold out strollers with the tiny wheels).

This is a cool Park to bike with the family. We rode the trail almost to Oakland airport with two kids and it was great because the trail is mostly flat. The nature center is also cool for young kids to hang out.

We celebrated our childs birthday here. The location was just perfect, the party room large, staff very helpful and activities amazingly fun and interesting for kids. Everyone loved it! Caitlin and Zoey were very friendly and super fun. They work so well with kids that the event was a breeze for us, the hosts.Id definitely recommend this place especially for birthdays for kids under 3- 10. Great fun even otherwise to visit and a lovely trail to walk during good weather.Note: bring light jacket at least and comfortable shoes if you plan to have outdoor activities for kids

Nice, small center with some hands-on exhibits and a large fish tank that includes a small shark. The real benefit is the paid tour which includes some discussion inside the center but is mostly spent out in the field learning about the shoreline and its history and animal inhabitants.

This place has lots of potential, when I went it was very windy and low tide. I think because of the low tide it smelled bad. You also walk by a place that said something to the effect of biohazard - creepy. Regardless, Id like to go back at high tide to see if the landscapes natural beauty shines.
