Several hiking trails in this area ranging from very easy to quite steep ones. Nice views at the top on a sunny day. No horse riding at present due to Covid. Parts of old tractors and ploughing machinery in the parking area are interesting to look at. Have spotted Coyotes once in a while.
Good for taking walks on the path. Definitely not the same as it was 10 years ago when we used to go on walks here with my uncle but the memories here are absolutely unforgettable
We hiked the Garin Peak trail, it was a great hiking trail, very well maintained, with visible signs to find your way through. There are cattle roaming around, it was so green this time of the year, with great views of the bay. There was plenty of parking available, with a fee of $5. There are also grills and picnic table available at the park. Highly recommmed it! Would come back for exploring more trails.
Always well maintained. Theres a lot of poo everywhere but its so nice to go.
Decent park and trails, no trees, however some decent views of the east bay and in the backyard.
So peaceful, glad I took the time to go up the hill
First time at the park and took in the sights around the pond and beautiful hills. It has a wide variety of birds and insects all around Jordan Pond. I WI definitely be going back.Only issue I had was the condition of a bridge on a path in a remote area. The bridge started swaying way more than I was comfortable with.
Fantastic place. Spectacular view of the entire city. One can get to see awesome sunset. Cannot depend on phone network for maps, so have someone to guide you.
This place is great, has a good sized parking lot (I think the fee was about $5-7), real bathrooms next to the parking lot, and some great trail options offering impressive views of the bay. dogs can be off-leash once you get out onto the trails. Dog owners: just know there are cows there! So if your dog likes rolling in cow pies, like mine does, they will roll in many at this park, and it is gross. If they are terrified of cows, like I found out mine was, they will either get chased by cows, or if you put them on leash to pass the cows, they will refuse to walk so that you have to carry them (and this is AFTER theyve rolled in cow pies). And it doesnt matter that the cows have the run of the land, they will hover near the trail so at some point you WILL have to pass them in close proximity! Just be ready! So I want to love this park, but I usually end up leaving it with a disgusting smelly dog where weve had a run in or two with some huffy cows. And yes I could put him on leash the whole time, but what fun is that? ;)
Great trail. Need to avoid the cows. They will wander on to the trail. Great views.
Nice place to go to for a walk with the children and dogs its more for like picnics when covid wasn’t around! It’s open!
This is where I go once a while to run because if the steep hills and winding back roads, its more challenging than just a straight path on pavement. A nice place to take your family out for a picnic, its large enough for family events. Theres a small pond where you can fish and many small hiking trails. Parking is plenty, mostly free weekdays and around $5 weekends. Park is open dawn to dusk.
It was surprisingly amazing place for a hike and although we live close by never heard of this place before. Beautiful and clean
Hiking.. Hills... Fishing at the pond... Ducks... Animals.. Great view... Relaxed picnic areas... - Love all of these together!
Great place for a nice walk with the dogs and fam...
Big place. Pretty quiet on weekdays.
This place had some awesome views! The best view is a pretty steep hike, but its fun.The bathrooms were clean.I would not recommend drinking from the water fountains at this time. They have a very metallic flavor.
Great park for trail running. Lots of challenging hills.
Great place to go on a hike and beautiful sceneries
Pretty nice walk with dog
Great place - I almost go daily! You can go for hike on different levels of physical activity - from a flat ground walk to sharp slopes. One can also explore multiple trails to make hiking activity from 30 mins to 4 hours. Love this place
Dont!! Do not....Take your dog off leash deep in the hills!! Attacked by cows. Scary, but fun. If your not fast!! You will be in BIG trouble.
I loved this place! There are short trails and long trails for hiking! Beautiful!
Best views you will see and hiking, best thing its close to my house
Awesome trails with various types for whatever type of workout youre looking for. Plenty parking available, are to bbq, fish n even fly kites
Great place to hike. Beautiful views of the bay area. Very relaxing. If you plan to go in the evening when its cooler, I recommend using bug spray. Theres mosquitos.
Oh wow! This place is just amazing, I regret not finding it earlier. I was frequently passing by Mission blvd thinking Mountains are so beautiful, there must be a park nearby! and sure its there! Nature, walking trails, even some very old cars are there to top the experience and make it more like a history walk. Its extremely beautiful, especially for those who loves mountains like me.And it feels huge, so its a perfect escape from city life when you need to.
Nice place for a evening hike!
Great hike for free! Also check out the free Japanese Garden in Hayward downtown after this, there is a great Japanese sushi buffet in downtown as well. Remember to check out the little pond in the back for some great family photos, climb the hill if you feel like, take it slow though, I almost fainted on the way up, bring some water also!
Easy to access park with both easy and hard trails. Good for kids too. It also has picnic tables with BBQ grills. Got nice views and cows too.
Nice park with decent views of the East Bay. Getting there can be a hassle.
Okay regional park, wish it was greener
Love this place. You can see anything from steer that graze regularly in the area to wild pigs or bobcats. Always a nice place to hike around and get away from it all.
Excellent place to walk your dogs..
Great park nice park with cows not that many people good for social distancing
Great place to take a quick or long hike
I love this place. So many different paths to take! Great view of the bay if the weather is clear. Areas to throw parties (but please clean up after yourselves. Keep our parks plastic free). Great for dogs too! I wouldn’t mind paying to enter but every time I have come they have never been there to collect money.
Good views and relaxing place a total challenge to walk the mountain
Beautiful area to walk or hike. Love Jordan Pond
Came here almost every day such a good pak
Beautiful easy to hard trails. More beautiful at sunrise and sunset. Love this place.
Finally got the 12nyr old whos afraid of heights to climb the big hill. Conquer those fears buddy! Nice clean bathroom and great trails to hike. No playground fyi
Beautiful hiking paths. Great views of the bay from the top.
Beautiful regional park. Very peaceful. This park has a medium sized pond. Back in the day (2011-2014) I would catch fish there, catfish to be specific but now a days it seems like theres no fish except for small little bass jumping around. Other than that this park is nice to go on a morning or evening walk. Go check it out I recommend it.
Lovely park to take a walk. also great for picnics in the sunny days. make sure to bring water. and good walking shoes.
Good hiking place. Very convenient
Good and quiet place to enjoy a carnita asada
Fun, moderate level hike. That first hill at the beginning is a killer. It gets better though. Theres enough terrain to go for a very long hike if you choose to do so. Moderate amount of shade, lots of cows. Didnt see any solo women, but I saw some solo male hikers.
Huge park with well marked trails.
Excellent pkace for hiking,
Not much going on there to see but we did see some deer and a payphone that works.
Pretty nice park with good views. The best thing is that there isnt much people. There are several trails in the shade unfortunately ruined by artificial gates that impede access with a (proper) stroller, so two people are needed to lift it up and carry it over the gate. Many animals I think cows poop around the best places lowering the park score from awesome to just OK
Great views of the bay. Was a pleasant break from suburbia. Hard to imagine herding cattle with silicone valley as the backdrop but here we are.
The peace and quietness is awesome and .amazing!
A gem! It has everything: hills with views, creeks with trees, a pond!
Excellent place for hiking and even for spending a quiet day with family.
Beautiful green hills to visit now !
Loved the view every time I come here. The place is relaxing and peaceful. perfect for hiking and picnic.
Its a nice walk but the trails can get muddy on rainy days. The summer months are hot so wear sunscreen and a hat.
Breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful! Greenery everywhere, especially during the month of jan-April when the rain has stopped and the fields have had the chance to replenish. There are so many areas you can hike or even go for a stroll. Great place to bbq with the family or even celebrate a birthday. It’s very open and has many areas to hang out. There are also cows roaming around so it’s really cool to see them in action just eating away at the grass. It also has a pond with ducks so the kiddos can be entertained. The air is fresh, the view is incredible and the experience is priceless. This spot is a must see for all you nature lovers.
Nice park for an afternoon walk.
Lots of great hiking and biking trails for all skill levels. Also some great views from the higher elevations in the park.
Nice county park off of mission near the Union City and Hayward border. Lots of trails, a lake, big fields of grass, picnic tables, clean restrooms, and an awesome view of the Bay. Best time to come is in spring when the weather begins to warm up again and the hills are still a lush green.
There is a lot of wild life, mountains, and ponds to fish at
Lush green, wide open, not crowded, plenty of trekks, no parking fee the day we visited.
Always a good visit
Nice regional park with lots of cattle pastures.
Good trails.
Its good hike with young kids
Comprised of several parks strung together, the Garin segment seems to have the most historic information. Theres a small lake/big pond nearby and more than enough picnic tables around. Trails alternate between shaded creekside valleys and completely exposed ridge lines and peaks. Bring water and sunblock!
Great park. Jordan pond is beautiful with a few ducks. Several bbq spots. Great but easy hike to do with kids. Perfect for family strolls
The park was nice and relaxing. It was well kept too. Perfect place for photography and hiking.
Not much but a trail its nice though great for dogs and hiking
Great place to hike and bike. $5 parking fee. Dog friendly with a $2 fee.
Follow the red arrow for the. Ultimate hill challenge. The reward is a view that will take your breath away.
Good prices great selection of food good costumer service
Excellent way to start the day. Your heart and lungs will thank you for the fresh air and a nice hike. Lots of trails to explore here.
Love the Ukraine Trail on in Garin Regional Park.. If you want to see wildlife, this is what I saw on one hike, 3/25/2018
Easy to advance levels of trails
Extremely peaceful and gorgeous!!!
Good place for hiking. Not much people and beautiful view, especially in Winter and Spring.
Full of adventures.
Nice family park
Ive been going to Garin Park all my life and I continue coming here because it is a nice little escape from all the noise. At night it is a little scary (I definitely suggest going in a larger group). Theres really so much you can do: strenuous hike (that big hill at the entrance), moderate hike (the hills to the right of the parking lot), or a nice walk with your dog (the regular path around the pond and trees). Also, be aware, that park doesnt look that big but its huge and from what Ive heard, you can hike across cities if you keep going. Barbequing here is really fun, parties and all kinds of other events. This place is great for kids too.
Good place to picnic with family. Did the Vista Peak Trail, didnt find anyone on this trail on a Sunday morning. Cows, turkeys and coyotes were spotted on the trail. Good views of the bay from the top. Highly recommend this place.
The park is well kept. It had a nice hill to climb and a duck pond. We reserve a spot forcan annual family picnic. Love the park it is near home. Parking is 5 bucks. They take only cash.
Great hikes and views. Very dog friendly.
Great hiking trails
This local hiking trail is such a beauty in Hayward. Not only are you surrounded by nature, but there are plenty of trails to follow that lead to different paths. There are public restrooms, and picnic areas to eat at where you can enjoy the scenery. I really also enjoy the rustic aspect of the park, they have old historical artifacts there as well! I enjoy coming here and reliving my childhood.
Peaceful place to spend time
Great Place!!
I absolutely love this park. The only issue I have is people dont clean up after themselves they leave their trash for the Parks Department to clean up please dont leave your trash how would like it if someone came to your place and trashed it.
I go to this park often because my cross country team has their meets here. There is a bathroom and an outhouse in front. There is a small lake. There is a picnic area up on a hill where I have seen Afghan men flying kites. There are often families here on the weekend having barbecues. The last time I was there I saw a girl taking quincennera pictures with her limo and well-dressed attendants. Two weeks ago I saw a huge tarantula (for the first time ever) and last week I saw a small snake. There are many ground squirrels/gophers. The small lake has ducks and fish. Parking at the Garin Ave. entrance costs $5 when the booth is manned - usually 8:30 to 5?. There is no charge to park at the Dry Creek staging area, but then you have to hike to the main park with its lake and facilities. The park closes at sunset. There is a campground area with outhouses which is good for small group overnight camping. Up on the hill you get a nice panoramic view of the Bay Area.
