After the discovery of the more natural part of this Park on the West Bank of the CT River, I just cant help returning.By strolling up the immediate raised bank of the waterway, Northbound from the esteemed Charter Oak Bridge, one can see plenty of vegetation. On some days, further up, away from the visitors, we might also see Beaver, muskrat, and winged birds like Red Tail hawk, Heron, and even an occasional Bald Eagle.As a marathon swimmer I get to see all of this and more in our Grand flowing CT River. And .....? Downtown Hartford is always looming within view, just up by the famed founders bridge. All in all a spectacular destination.

I love this park! Such a great place to enjoy the river. I love taking a walk over to the East Hartford side, along both sides of the river and back. Great little playground. Go picnic or fish or walk or run or play here!

Nice place to sit down and have a peaceful lunch or just enjoy the water.

We go here for the Riverfront fireworks every year, and sit by the water, near the bridge. Its the perfect view of the display, and pretty easy to get out of. I havent been here any other time, but it seems like a serene place

I sit and read my daily devotional by the water almost 3 times a week. I leave refreshed and ready

Great spot by the river for walking or seeing an event. Cool steps to climb and areas that go under the bridge and around it. Good place to get your fitness on or chill for lunch.

The service, atmosphere (we sat outside but there was also interior seating), affordable prices, and food were all well worth the visit!

A place where you can relax from the rush of Hartford. Unfortunately not much to do here besides chilling next to CT river. If you have a bout you can lunch it to the river here for free however you have to check hours because the gate might be close.

Attended an outdoor movie there last night. Great spot and very peaceful with Mars in the sky, but the smell of garbage was a turnoff for us to return. Not sure why the smell of garbage was so strong. Is it coming from the river?

Very nice was on the lady Katherine yacht the staff was on ten stars the yacht was safe and clean the food offered was good. The east hartford connecticut River smelled like bad sewage. But my experience was great

Park at Riverside Park by the Boathouse. Casually take the riverwalk to downtown, across the bridge to East Hartford, along the riverfront, across the bridge back to Hartford, through Charter Oak Landing along riverfront to downtown Mortensen area through artwork back to Riverside Park area and continue onto trail past the Boathouse which loops back to parking lot makes for a nice afternoon walk.

People have been hanging out here for decades, a lovers lane of Hartford. Has a nice little man-made pier to fish from.
