If you love history this is an amazing place to visit. The Heritage Center is an incredible place to walk the history of the Brethren and Mennonite in the Shenandoah Valley. From the Sing Me High Festival to Heritage Christmas this is a must visit for every family in the valley and every family with interest in the Brethren and Mennonite Heritage. For those visiting Harrisonburg, plan to spend a couple of hours at this beautiful site.

A wonderful little place on a beautiful hill near Harrisonburg. After reading the interesting exhibits in the Welcome Center, received a personal tour by John Horst, very knowledgeable and patient, of each of the buildings. The site is outstanding and marked by a number of historic buildings that have been moved there over the last ten years.

We enjoyed learning. The houses are awesome, very interesting. Bigger and nicer than I expected the museum is tiny but informative. The museum guide was friendly and informative. Our only complaint: He talks too much, never left us alone, rarely was there a minimal break to even respond. Im sorry to say we were talked at for 3 tedious hours, and stumbled out weary. We were never introduced or offered a drink. Water would have been appreciated, especially on the hot day it was, and standing for 3 hours. It would have been nice to know the name of our new friend.

The wife loved the tour of the buildings and learning about the Church of the Brethern and Mennonite community.

Love it! Great field trip for the kids.

Our classes of Gr. 1-3 thoroughly enjoyed this field trip. Excellent presenters and authentic activities gave them opportunities to experience life back then firsthand. One first grader said, This is the best field trip Ive ever had! =)
