This is a very well constructed area obviously helped by the Eagle Scout projects. Birding here is very nice and enjoyable.
Beautiful little nature walk. The trees and plants are labeled with their names and there is a large amount of wildlife. If you go early in the morning I recommend some sort of mosquito repellent because they are still out in force. Ive seen many bunnies, wild pigs and a huge variety of beautiful birds! There are also hidden little gems everywhere to sit and explore. The longest walk is by the water that you can find through multiple paths.
Beautiful nature trail and great wildlife. Just be careful if you encounter a boar because they will come after you. Also a great spot if youre into PokemonGo
All welcome no nters here, nature at the heart, see you there I will be all smiles
Well manicured park with added trails since the last time I was here in 2015
Almost the perfect place there was not a lot of people so right now with covid is perfect the only problem is there is no signs that show where the exit is we got lost and that was scary but we found our way out if there was a suggestion box I would suggest little maps that show a star where you are at and a map of the area like brackenridge park in san Antonio
Beautiful location with nice trails by the river. Some litter, but still enjoyable morning/evening walk spot. Personally recommend not going there alone.
Ive come to understand nature now after I have visited this place a few times. I get lost out here in a good way. I am really glad it is free even if they charged I would still go. There are so many spots to read, bird watch and just enjoy nature. The ponds are really nice and the trails are well kept. Almost every time I go I pick up litter we have to do our part it is free you now. Thanks again for giving us a place to unwind.
It was an interesting place to visit. Lots of wonderful views.
Fun place to run and bird watch... gets a little sketchy near sun down
Nice outdoor time with my son, great memories
The walking trail is well maintained and accessible for most people. People in a wheelchair or other levels of mobility may have difficulty. Lots of local plant and wildlife to view. It’s a good place to spend an hour or two and get a good walk. Various blinds located throughout for people interested in birdwatching. Unfortunately a few areas have graffiti but overall the entirety of the park is well maintained.
Nice park. Good place to walk around and soak up nature. If you go during the summer, remember bug spray and a bottle of water. I prefer going in the winter months. Nice and cool and no bugs.
Its a nice place to walk
I love visiting Hugh Ramsey Nature Park often. Lots of birds and little animals.
This is a great nature park to bring the family and explore... its even better when the birds migrate through. One of the top birding attractions. Will be going back.
Absolutely gorgeous park! This was our first trip, but we plan to go back often to explore new areas of the park. The trails are well kept, filled with a variety of plants and animals, and amazing for photographers who want to capture a unique environment.
Its a great place to connect with nature and exercise at the same time. My kids love it there.
This please is beautiful ️ it has so many different areas and trails full of different animal species. Parking is spacious enough, its never full. They have restrooms but they do need to stock up in soap and hand towels/ toilet paper, other than that the RR are clean. They need to add several shaded stops, most stops are in the open no shade. Maybe add 2 or 3 water station on the trail to sip or refill. I recommend this nature site for day walks/runs or nature sitings
You can see all kinds of wildlife in south Texas. We saw a wild boar from a distance. We even saw hummingbirds- talking about a ton of hummingbirds at once. Just make sure to take an extra bottle of water when you go on the trail. After all its south Texas- Its hot!
Very serene and peaceful trails can be found on these grounds. Its a nice break away from the typical trails in harlingen which are usually full with fast traffic. Enjoy the sights and smells of this wonderful nature park.
All levels of nature available. Easy accessible trails. Lots of different vegetation and critters. Love it!
Nice park.
Ive gone here with my family about 4 times it was amazing. My boyfriend is an eagle scout and he helped do a lot of scout projects there its nice to see people take care of the park and what is provided from the community.
Lovely place to walk and explore nature. This park has several easily navigated trails of differing lengths with places to sit and enjoy nature such as bird watching stations and butterfly gardens.
Plenty of spots to explore! There was a strange mattress under the bridge we found though! After we saw it, we thought itd be best to leave.
Good time for a walk here. The plants are blooming and theres a variety of flowers and the weather is great.
Great walking trail. Beautiful
Was a nice little hike to see nature, saw some picary a few birds lots of cactus
Great place to be out in nature.
Great place for an evening walk with plenty of shade
Wow, what a fantastic place to bird! Nice trails. Well maintained. This is a first visit. We will be back.
Super nice place for a peaceful walk.
I loved it
Nice area. Nice place to walk and observe nature
Great nature trails during daylight only. Covered eating area, rest rooms available. Open 6am-10pm.
Great Nature spot
Love this place because of the chachalacas and the other wildlife at the park. I can sit all day at the Humming bird trial.
Loved the name cards of different plants. Plenty of birds to see and javelinas.
I love that this park is in town and yet offers a beautiful secluded place to escape. There are a few trails and the scenery changes with the seasons.
Love this place...great birding photo ops
It was a good park. Got tickled there.
A very lovely native plant nature trail within the city. You will want to bring a hat if it is sunny and bug spray if there has been a good rain recently. If you want to the wildlife, I suggest just after sunrise.
Very peaceful place!
Gotta love this place. So much to see and the trails are great. Just avoid the mens room. Theres a whole lot of pervs that hang around there.
It is so clean, well kept, not trashy, hope others that visit keep it that way. A lot of birds to view and enjoy.
Great walking trail
One of my favorite birding locations in South Texas. There is a lovely variety of birds and lovely little alcoves with feeders and drips. Heavenly!
Great birds with nice feeding stations and blinds. Close to the Harlingen Airport.
Beautiful surroundings. Lots of birds to watch
Loved the trails
Nice big nature park with quite a bit of trails for all ages take the family for a nice morning or afternoon walk plenty of nature and South TX wild life also many poki stops for the kids and my favorite Ingress portals. Turn it Green
Great place for an adventure! Saw several local bird species, turtles, butterflies and more!
Took my dog for the first time and came back with multiple ticks on him. I wouldnt go without him as safety is an issue. What i saw was nice but there are other parks i would choose instead.
The native plant tour is fun and educational.
This is my favorite park in Harlingen. It is a beautiful, peaceful place with a variety of nature trails.
The pathways are pronounced. The plant life is beautiful. I have seen many different bird and mammal species.
Just lots of mosquitoes
Great walking trails for viewing birds and native trees, cactus, also other wildlife of the Rio grande valley.
Great quiet place to connect with nature.
The work that is being done in this place is noticeable.
Beautifully peaceful! The trails are easy to walk through, and depending on the season, you can catch glimpses of butterflies, dragonflies, different birds, and rabbits. There are a lot of bird feeding stations to attract them in and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the scenery.
Nice trails clean park lots of sitting area and trails tons of birdseasu to find
Looks pretty and saw lots of butterflies going by but we are going to come back because creepy guys in the parking lot just sitting and watching didnt feel safe to walk or leave car in lot.
Good place to take a walk and get in touch with nature.
A great place to take a stroll through nature. Very peaceful place to go to.
You get the chance to see so many different bird and insect species. Very nice on a cool day!!
Cool little trail top hike.
A great place to unwind and enjoy natures gift.
This was my most enjoyable day this month I went out and actually put my feet in the dirt and walk the path barefooted. Earthing is long lost from our Indian Brothers the valuable lesson of earthing your soul to the magnets in the Earth and grounding yourself
Great place to connect with nature and bird watching.
I liked it a nice place to walk
A nice hidden surprise...really enjoyed the walk.
Fantastic birding area.
Great hiking views!!
Great park...but don’t go too late or you’ll be suprised by a lot of creepy old men waiting near the parking lot. I dont don’t think they intend to walk the trail either...
Relaxing with different things to see
Great place to find peace and quiet. Saw an armadillo and some rabbits. Recommend to visit when it isnt too hot.
Had a good time, but there is no bano
Very nice pocket of nature in the city. Good variety of birds there that arent found outside of the Rio Grande valley.
Love to walk the pathes
Nice park with plenty of nature to view especially if youre into birding.
Peaceful and nice scenery
Awesome place, but if you go alone you should be careful.
We love it here. Weve seen all kinds of animals and get great exercise.
Between all the dogs being walks some with leash some without leash and the single weird guys looking and hanging out in cars its hard to relax and enjoy sometimes
Hugh Ramsey Nature Park is a true oasis in the middle of Harlingen. Just minutes from the airport and TSTC Harlingen campus, this is a definite stop for birders, naturalists or anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle and decompress.
Saw that this park closes at 10pm. Took the wife after sunset. There were some creepy guys walking around the parking lot and they were definitely not there to hike the trail.
Good place to take a walk.
Amazing place to take the family & go exploring! Its a great place to go run & workout as well!!
