It is a small zoo and priced appropriately. Good place to just take a stroll and also see some animals along the way. Highlight of our visit was the little prairie dog getting his exercise done on his little wheel if ever in the area we will visit again and hopefully the train will be operational at that time.

This place is apart of my childhood memories. I always went here with my family to go to the zoo, and play at the park. And it always has remained so much fun to play here! Now that Im older, and I cant really fit on the park or do much anymore, its a nice place to take a walk or sit and enjoy the nature here (the squirrels here have some personality for being able to spread out and lay flat on their bellies like a military crawl or staring at you like its a contest...) The zoo here is remarkable, and I will never forget it! This is a nice place to stroll and have fun!!!

Beautiful little zoo, fun for the whole family! We stopped by here it was a pleasant surprise! The price is very inexpensive $7 for adults, $5 for kids . They had a large variety of animals ;animals looked well taken care of and feed. Lots of sanitizing station theough out the zoo . Not many people around and not crowed at all. There is no place to buy food only a small gift shop. Recommend bringing a drink or buying one before you start at the front gift shop! The giraffe/zebra area has a beautiful covered deck thats high above the ground. Highly recommend stopping there the view, breeze is very nice! Took us about an 1hr 1/2 to finish the zoo so it is very small but worth your time to check it out.

Just the right size zoo. We havent been since it was free, its grown a lot. Well worth the admission price. We enjoyed it as well as our 3 year old grandson. There is quite an assortment of animals and its beautifully landscaped. We liked the fact that is a big oneway loop. There were no restrooms on the loop but a nice clean one at the entrance. Small children may have to be picked up for a good view in some spots. Thomas really liked the petting zoo it was mostly goats but kids loved it.

Small, well kept zoo thats perfect for toddlers or young children. It makes a big circle that takes about 2 hours to get through. The zoo lacks some big animals (rhino, elephant, lion). Some of the enclosures could be better, but they seem to always be working on them when we visit. Theres a huge park across from the zoo thats great for before/after play and picnicking.

My kids and I enjoyed during our trip in Frank Buck Zoo in Gainesville. We saw animals we never saw before like the Cayote, Camel, Red Fox and more. The zoo is small but it is way better than the one in Nashville, TN. Lol. My kids loves animals. We went to Nashville Zoo Aug 27 a week before we move back here in Texas... nothing to see in that zoo! Lol only few animals. Finally back in Texas and we Went to Frank Buck Zoo Sept. 24 and we get more excited Great experience

I love this zoo! I am a fan of smaller zoos as I feel they have some of the better animals and attractions. I loved their black bear and my daughter’s favorite animal is the cheetah and we actually saw them here! Great place, nice to walk around and a lot less traffic than the big city zoos! Also much more affordable! We’ll be back soon!

Very clean & well laid out. Animals seemed to have plenty of space. Over half of the zoo trails covered in plant & fauna. Meticulously maintained elevated wooden walk path cover a 1/3 of zoo. Nice gift shop. Water park & large kids park just outside the gates. Rib Crib BBQ restaurant nearby is a MUST stop. Awesome food. Youll find nothing short quality here.

Wonderful little zoo. $7 entry fee. The park has a pool and huge playground for kids. The zoo has very good exhibits with a variety of animals.. Excellent park to take a family. Clean and well taken care of. I remember when Jerry the elephant survived the flood. It was a very small zoo in the 70s. Well worth the trip. Lots of good places to eat nearby.

We enjoyed our trip here and found it to be manageable with social distancing. Good variety of animals and there are a few areas with shade as you walk through. Several animals were napping/ not visible when we went around noon, so Im not sure if there are other times that you may see more activity.

Great little zoo with well kept animals. The zoo is really well kept and they have a really good variety of animals. Their cages were clean and they all seemed happy and well-fed. The whole zoo isnt very big but definitely worth the price. The customer service is what needs a little work. Some of the employees were great and very friendly while others seemed to be bothered by questions. I also didnt like that there was only one very small restroom in the very beginning. But, overall a great ace to visit for a few hours. Also, as everyone has noted the free castle playground in the front is a major plus. The kids loved running around in it after the zoo visit.

Outstanding Zoo. The wife and I found this by chance and we are so happy that we did. As far as value goes this place is fantastic. We have been to a ton of zoo and zoo like attractions but this was the first time we have ever seen so many active and happy looking animals. Really a lot of amazing animals to see here. The only issue we had was there was no air moving in the gift shop and it is a shame because it looked like there was a bunch of neat items but my wife could not stand to be inside.Overall Frank Buck zoo is worth driving for very nice and relaxing zoo.

Small zoo but I like the design of each animal‘s space. The ticket price is reasonable. I only wish they have more educational activities for kids but I think it is because of COVID-19 so only visiting no show or feeding animals. We absolutely loved our visit! The zoo is the perfect size for our 19 month old daughter. The animals were all active and close enough for her to see. It was not too crowded, so we felt ok about her walking and not having to hover over her the entire time (we were always close, but did not have to be attached to her the whole time.) All the enclosures were well kept and pretty. We loved the shade on the front part of the zoo! We will definitely be back many times in the future! The only thing I wish was better was during the giraffe feeding time, it is very hard to get by that area if you are not taking part.

Review №44

Overall a very sad and disappointing zoo. The only staff members seen were two workers at the main entrance... no zookeepers were seen tending to any animal within the zoo. The animals themselves seem very gloomy and uncared for besides the giraffes, zebras, and ostriches (since they’re most likely deemed as their main animal attractions). The animals were either seen alone and/or with little space within their enclosure, some even lacking water. Even though most of the animals were lethargic due to the heat, the bears were an even sadder sight since they only had one spot for shelter and were fighting over who got to sit under the shade on that very hot day. Lastly, please tend to whatever wasps nests are along the bridge, there were many wasps that were too close for comfort. Please take care of your animals and do better.

There were several empty cages and no giraffes. The cat exhibit stunk horribly, which I imagine is normal because....cats. However, the rest of the animals that were there seemed happy and well cared for. The walkways were well maintained as were all the bushes/plants... Except for the spot in the first picture.... Which gave me a giggle (look at the sign).

I love this Zoo, I have been all over this country and attended quite a few Zoos. It is number two on my top five list of zoos, New Orleans Audubon zoo being number one. Sure it’s not as big as the Dallas zoo or the Fort Worth zoo but all you’re paying is six dollars and you can see practically the same thing you would at either the Dallas zoo or the Fort Worth zoo Being that the Fort Worth zoo in the Dallas zoo are always under some type of construction and you don’t get to see the whole park. Not to mention you going to spend $25 per person at either the Dallas zoo or the Fort Worth zoo. Frank Buck zoo has my vote! I gave it five stars because it is an amazingly great zoo, great park, great train ride, just all-around great!!The only thing I wish they had that they don’t, is a reptile area. I would’ve loved to seen more reptiles such as snakes, lizards, frogs... things like that! Other than that, no complaints whatsoever. I still give it five stars because the workers make up for that definitely. Everybody I came across was super nice and super helpful. There are really good people running the place.
