Very nice exhibits and staff. Learned a lot. Two bldgs on premises from 1830s. So cool to see the original beams. Info on native americans from this area was especially interesting. My son asked what the rotary dial on the switchboard phone was. Plan about 1 - 1.5 hrs to view all.Pay attention to specific hours and days they r open. Dont miss the exceptional war memorial garden outside. Parking is just past the bldg on same side of street. Other pkg in area is restricted by permit.

Everyone was so friendly! We went for family day after the fun snow the day before. It was a cold day, but still many people showed up. We got lucky abs the museum was open and free too. Normally there is an admission fee. Family day is the second Sunday of every month. My kids did a scavenger hunt, went through the exhibits, outside to the cabins, watched the live gun show, and enjoyed the family activities in the hall. The staff dressed up and were so fun and nice. My daughter enjoyed the lady who taught them a dance. We loved dressing up in clothes from the colonal times. Plenty of seating at their outdoor amphitheater. Exhibits have many interactive stations for kids. Our visit superceded my expectations. They have their own parking lot as well. Btw, I wasnt sure if they would be open because of the snow, so I sent a message on Instagram, not expecting a reply the day, but I got a reply in less than five minutes. I was over the moon. I was so hesitant to drive the hour while uncertain if they were going to be open or not, so that was a huge relief when I got a response! Thats great representation!

The Northeast Georgia History Center is more than a museum of really cool stuff. Its like taking a trip back in time. The tornado exhibit is one-of-a-kind. In addition, its a great space for events and meetings. The staff here is top-notch and incredibly talented. They offer special family weekend events all year long.

The staff here is very rude and absolutely terrible. Director of Education - Ken Johnston, screamed at me because i walked on the grass with my baby as to get away from the passing trucks. he yelled so loud and abrupt that i fell with my baby in my arms. the walking path did not look like it was closed by any means. this was absolutely humiliating and i would suggest that if you like your humility, or if you have common courtesy to never go to this place !!!!!!!

The scavenger hunt for the kids is a great idea. Its an average small-sized museum.

Pretty good and definitely worth the price. There arent a whole lot of exhibits but all in all it was interesting. There also is a walk in eighteen century Cherokee cabin which was very interesting. I would go here if visiting in the area.
