Cofrin Nature Park is a little park off of NW 8th avenue just before it merges with Newberry road.. The entrance is easy to miss. The park is well maintained and has a playground for young children. It has a nature walk where you can find surprisingly many animals inside the city limits. It has a seepage creek and upland forest habitat. Cofrin is a little known gem of a place and worth the visit. It also has a reflection garden.

Do you want to feel like the one and only Howard Carter, famous archaeologist? Then go to Egypt. However, if you want to feel like the underappreciated marine archaeologist E. Lee Spence, you have come to the right place. There are shark teeth in the creek. Enough said. Why arent you here yet? You heard me right, the teeth of aquatic killing machines are there for the taking, and here you are reading my review. Please stop. Go get those teeth. Honor E. Lee Spence. His legacy will live on. Long live E. Lee Spence. The park is also pretty nice. -1 Star for the bugs.

Very nice mulched playground and nature walk area. The kids loved it. There are slides, swings, a rock wall to climb, a balance beam, a fort with regular slides and a firemans pole. There are restrooms on site, and plenty of places to sit while the kids play, like benches and picnic tables. There is also a pavillion for parties or cookouts.

This is a great local place. There is a nature trail loop which is quite short. We went here to walk our dog as wed never been to this park and wanted to try somewhere besides our neighborhood. The dog loved it and was reluctant to get in the car. Once in the car, she would try to inch her way out. So, we will be back. Only wish the trail was longer.

This is a very nice place to get a away, but yet still be in town. Very convenient to NW area of Gainesville, and just a few minutes from I-75. The parking is nice, and there is a nice covered place to have a meal. There are hiking trails here as weil adjacent to a small creek. There is a nice place for children to play with nice park benches for parents to onlook. There are restrooms here. The park is kept tidy and clean along with the restrooms. This park closes promptly at 6pm. We will definitely be returning for a future visits as this is a nice urban/rural park.
