Hidden gem!!!! Had to look for local area alternatives as there was what seemed to be a 2+ hour wait to get in to Skyline Drive. Less than 10 minutes away, This park is clean, trail is easy to walk, water is crystal clear and home to football field sized dog parks (2). Would definitely return just to sit on benches and watch the river.

Beautiful park in town along the river. Dog parks are large and surrounded by trees for the pups, the boat launch and pickup were easy to find, with a really nice area to picnic.

Beautiful park on the river, includes informative placards about the area history. Nice paved walking trail. Only caveat for us were the folks out walking along with their dogs unleashed. We keep our pup on a leash and at least one of the unleashed dogs appeared aggressive to other folks walking. We didnt appreciate that at all. That aside, other than being bitterly cold the day we visited, the park is nicely done, very well kept and clean. The river views to the South from the boat ramp are quite picturesque.

Wow really nice! Big lots for dogs. Grassy areas and lots of run space.Small dog and large dog areas.Just didnt like the water fountain was outside of the fence. Will bring my own water to save hassle of leashing the dog to go out and drink.A long walk from the parking lot. There are poop bags stations along the way. Except when I needed it was empty.There was a deer near the parking area. What a treat!

Too many dogs off leash on the walking trail but this is the new all about me world we live in. I wish theyd enforce the leash law so everyone would be able to enjoy this trail with their dogs and not just a few.

Best dog park around & one of the best places go kayaking

Nice place to take your dog (they have dog parks for different sized dogs), go for a walk (nice long trail along the river), and play in a in the water. There are areas where you can grill, and field to play soccer or other family games. Even had a playground for younger kids.

My favorite hometown local park. Beautiful walking path along the river with huge, fenced in dog parks for both small and large dogs. The public boat access is also a wonderful way to get close to the river. Love it!

Great park to bring the family and dogs. They have a restroom and charcoal grills, and dog park. Fishing was good.

We were visiting relatives in Front Royal and needed a nice place to take some family photos.Weve come to the park before and enjoyed their trails and sitting by the Shenandoah so we thought this would be a perfect place.It really is because not only doesnt have benches along the water to watch the river with kayakers it also has enclosed dog park places.We were able to take some nice family photos and noticed that we werent the only ones. Must have been homecoming nearby because a lot of homecoming pictures being taken as well.The park offers the ability to enjoy walks along the river and a lot of room to spread out and take in the area.

Nice river access for dogs to swim. Picnic area is very nice and clean but small. The sog park area has two enclosures. One for small dogs and one for large dogs. Very large run area. The walking path isnt very long but it is scenic.

A nice park, with a playground, soccer fields, dog walks, a walking path, boat access to the Shenandoah, and 2 grills for picnics.

Cool riverside park with (as of now) three geocaches in addition to other amenities. High water can be present on access road.

This is a fantastic dog park. It is one of the largest that I have found with a very long run for both the large dog part and the small dog part. The gate is easy to open and it was Very clean. My dog and I travel from eastern Canada to Florida and back every year and visit one or more dog parks per day. This is one of the finest!

Great park, trip really well maintained dog runs. Really nice walking paths and you cant beat those views. And the locals that used this park are really nice.

A nice park with picnic tables and boat ramp.

Great grassy - large area with shade for dogs to run. Actually, enough room for any dog to stretch their legs. Probably 100 yards by 40 yards. Can be very buggy in the summer and watch out for beavers or ground hogs who also share this space. But definitely worth the stop. Right along the river.

Its nice for a dog park. Needs access to the river. That way people can utilize the parking there and not clog up the boat landing. Which they shouldnt be doing anyway.

Good river access, parking and a nice riverside trail. Biking, canoeing and fishing are all good here. Fishing needs some work, but easy to push upstream from here. Fun to put in south (upstream) at Gooney Creek/Karo Landing and take out here. Just up Criser is River and Ridge Outfitters

Plenty of space for family and pets. They have 2 fenced-in areas so dogs can run without leashes. Pet waste stations along the path, a fountain for pets and their owners, benches, and a gorgeous path along the river to the high school.

Love to focus on positive, potential---but unless you are blonde, not your best family choice. Well leave it there. We encourage you go. Do your own write-up.

Very scenic along the canal. The dog park area is extremely large and even includes a fire hydrant! (Lol) Highly recommend visiting as this is one of the nicest dog parks I have been to.

Love the dog park and the walking path near river, except when the path is flooded due to, too much water.I like the soccer fields, but they are not mowed regularly, which sometimes makes for difficult practices.
