This place is legit if you love the vineyards . Great location with beautiful views and great service .We had the wine flight and the frozen rose glasses which were refreshing. Definitely a try.This place is not filled with people u find at a regular vineyard . This seems more of a personal spot with the comfort of family and friends . A must visit if you are in the area. Also it is pet friendly.

I was going to skyline drive when decided to instead enjoy some wine. Found this wonderful place in the mountains. Had the cabernet franc, along with some salami and cheese, it was all delicious. The place is absolutely beautiful, and would definitely go back. The only reason I did not give the five stars is because service was not as welcoming as we have found in other places (perhaps because they were within a couple of hours of closing, not sure) I will give it the benefit of the doubt on that side.

This place is awesome. The views are phenomenal. The staff is awesome. The wine is the creme del la creme. What is not to like? Took a girl who said she hated reds, guess who loves red now?

A lovely fall drive took us to the Chester Gap Cellers Winery. We were able to enjoy the views and had some fun photographing as well.

We enjoyed the Chardonnay on their deck, which overlooks a picturesque valley.Friendly staff. Simply a lovely wine destination.

Went here after 2 months of quarantine and could not have asked for a more perfect day! the views are gorgeous, the wine was delicious, and the service excellent. Given the circumstances, there was only outdoor distanced seating, and everyone was respectful of the distancing guidelines.

If you want to enjoy some very scenic views while sipping on some Virginia wine, Chester Gap Cellars is the place to be. Really amazing views and they have plenty of outdoor seating. This vineyard has a pretty small parking lot so it keeps it from being overly crowded.

Really lovely vineyard and wine. The driveway leads you back behind a row of trees which opens up to a sensational view of the valley unlike any I’ve seen at other vineyards. Most of their selections are single varietals which really let the fruit stand alone and sing. It’s a wonderful way to appreciate these Virginia grapes. The blends are also wonderful with a very interesting balance of old world grapes in fresh combinations.

We visited for the first time today and we had an awesome time! The tasting was fun and we ended up buying 2 bottles. While there we enjoyed some wine with cheese and meat on the back deck listening to music and just taking in the beautiful view. We will definitely be back!

Best tasting wine Ive had in VA (written by someone who has lived in Italy and France) plus best location and view Ive seen at a VA winery. The place overlooks a huge valley in which you can hardly see any house or road. And the owners are very nice people. They also like to experiment with some of their wines on aging and blends. They will tell you about their experiments as they let you taste the delicious results.

Thank you Chelsey for a great tasting. Had a great return to Chester Gap Cellars after a few years of not visiting. I must say that Im re-in-love with their Cabernet Franc (2013). Will make sure not to let so much time pass before I return.

Excellent wine, nice tasting room, friendly servers. New owners Jeff & Travis have upgraded the interior space, while maintaining the high standards of winemaking. Delightful outdoor deck w/fabulous views, too!

Have visited regularly over the last 10 years because the staff are friendly and helpful; but, more importantly, the wines are among the very best in Virginia. The Viognier and Roussanne are outstanding (and I normally prefer reds.)The tasting room is simple where you can really learn about the wines. It reminds me of some of the best family vineyards in California. The focus is on the wine, not on frills. After tasting we enjoy sitting on the deck and taking in the view.

If you like Viognier, that seems to be their specialty with the whites and youll love it. Regardless of your taste in wine though, this winery has one of the best views Ive seen at a Virginia winery. Barrel Oak is a close second, but this view was unmarred by houses, etc. Just gorgeous views of the valley - will definitely be coming back for the foliage season.
