This is a really cool historic theater and theres not a bad seat in the entire place. I saw Emily Wolfe perform here as part of their Discovery series where they feature up and coming artists and often have pay-what-you-want shows, and this show was amazing. The venue is actually quite large for the area, having lots of floor and balcony seats available. If your ticket says general admission, you pick your own seat; otherwise it is assigned.Theres a garage right next door which makes it really convenient, and there are a bunch of restaurants within walking distance too (I recommend The White Rabbit).
Quaint venue. Great acoustics. Very helpful and friendly staff. It was a nice evening with our son, his wife, their baby (4 months) and the in-laws and their son. Will definitely come back. And, it wont just be to get the free refill. The building was amazing!!
We travelled down from Harrisburg PA to see Dr. Mae Jemison speak. Wed never been here before but the facility was very nice. It was very intimate and made for an ideal place to see a speaker. The ushers, ticket takers and other staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a lot of fun and it was well worth the trip!
What a great place, with so much history. They have many great acts and still close to home. The only issues is traffic at times and parking. There are many places to visit while downtown and wonderful places to eat before or after the show. Enjoy people this is a beautiful restored theater.
Venue was great size for all seats and the sound was awesome!! Needed more or better bartenders. I didnt drink but some of my party did and waited over an hour to get drinks! Unacceptable! Would I go back?? Definitely yes
We just experienced the mellow instrumental sounds of Hawktail at Weinberg in Frederick, MD. What a perfect intimate venue for an all- string band. Not a bad seat in the house, and the acoustics were superb! The one minor complaint I had was the temperature - it was a bit cold inside on a nippy February night.
A Wonderfully restored theater with an interesting set of bookings year round. If you are not familiar with The Weinburg stop by anytime to read about its great history and to consider attending an upcoming show.
Beautiful venue. Speakers Series with Dr. Mae Jemison was inspiring. Big screen with great sound system. Comfortable seating & good view in mezzanine.
We went for a movie night and had a great time! We watched The Muppet Christmas Carol, and they encouraged you to sing along. It was a lot of fun!
Great acoustics and seating! The staff is very friendly. Theres reasonable parking right next door with attendants posted at the exit to take your payment ($3) and speed everyone out.
My family and I saw the Wailers show!! We had blase Great comfortable sitting without getting over crowded. Also side doors go directly from Auditorium to parking garage. Cool!!
Saw the Nutcracker with my little girl. We loved it. It was a smaller scale than Ive seen before, but still well done.
The charm of this historic place is enough to want to go here. They offer a variety of shows year round.
Nice small venue. Good view of stage from any seat. Seats are a little tight.
Awesome old theater. We saw 1974 the Tribute. Best Beatles band ever.
The steep Canyon Rangers concert was amazing! Really enjoyed the venue! Bring a sippy cup for adult beverages.
There really arent any bad seats here, however, the acoustics were poor from our seats in Row L (the 11th row ). Dialogue and songs were muffled and hard to understand on our last visit, so not sure if it was a one-time technical issue (maybe a few bad microphones?) or if something is going awry. Will be back again in a few months, in different seats, so well see what happens. Parking in the attached garage is cheap and its nice to be able to exit the Center directly into the garage.
I went with a friend to see the replaying of The Beatles movie Hard Days Night the original staff very friendly and thoughtful place was clean we had a wonderful time
Beautiful, and enjoyable. . Loved the film we saw Funny Girl, and I will, return again.
Great service and great show. Surrounded by bars and restaurants within a short walking distance. Located next to a parking garage
Terrific venue for the 50 Years of Rock and Roll Show we saw. The seats were comfy with a decent amount of leg room (even for my 6ft 3in husband). The acoustics were great and the show was spectacular!
Beautiful old theater with a fantastic selection of entertainment. Really a center of the Frederick community. You need to try it out!!!
Very impressed with the organization in bringing hundreds of kids into the theater for a high quality production of The One and Only Ivan... fantastic!!
Terrible sound quality. Hard to understand someone on stage who is talking.
Good show. Only criticism: show was advertised from 3 to 6. Was actually from 3 to 4:30.
Have been to two performances. Nice staff; venue is clean. They have kids events as well.
Ive seen two shows here now, and both have been great. Ill speak to the venue here and not the speakers, I especially like the design with the doors on the side of the venue that open directly into the adjacent parking garage. That is incredibly convenient when the entire venue is emptying all at once. There is also a second parking garage down the street slightly, so with two garages theres no need to work about street parking.
Thoroughly enjoy this venue. The Weinberg presents a variety of show types. Definitely something for everyone. Great location in Downtown Frederick. Lots of parking be it on the street or in the parking garage for a minimal fee. The Weinberg is a staple for this town and is an integral part of the Arts community for this area.
See previous message pertaining to my visit...I will be attending Capital Theatre in Chambersburg PA for future shows; outstanding customer service, fantastic prices, and gives a more elegant display.
Awesome place - and love that you can now bring adult beverages into performance with purchase of $3 cup with lid.
This place is beautiful. I love how its close to the parking garage and how it lets the audience out into the parking garage when the show is over. I like the view that we got. I felt that we were able to engage with a performer. However I feel like the seats get smaller when you get closer to the front of the stage. So that part I wasnt very pleased with.
Saw The Doors play here, great cover band, awesome scenery.
Building is nice, seats are comfortable for an old building. One just needs to plan extra time for entering and exiting the parking structure
Gorgeous theater! Ive enjoyed plays, movies and talks at Weinberg. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My only wish would be that they could offer cups with lids for beer and wine, as they do at Broadway shows. Id be fine paying a little more for a reusable cup that would allow me to enjoy a drink during my experience.
This is a beautiful classic venue. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I loved the virtuoso organ playing. Unfortunately I could not discern all the dialogue of the movie I went to see.
Great ambience. Great old house organ. Good selection of shows. Good enough bar. Prices are right. A must see if youve never been. I dont find enough shows Im interested in but I know others do. Definitely recommend. Definitely will be back
Wonderful concert by the Air Force Concert Band. What a great way to spend time with friends on Veterans Day.
Beautiful venue. Park in the parking garage next door and then leave straight from the auditorium to your car.
This is a wonderful old theater with excellent acoustics and ambiance. I have gone here for a few events ranging from silent movies with the Mighty Wurlitzer and Christmas sing alongs to live action and enjoyed every one.The staff is classy and helpful and add to the whole experience. You will not be disappointed.
So impressive to see nationally renowned speakers come here. Thank you also for the diversity.Circus too! “Too many freaks, not enough circuses”
Nice place and environment, very good staff, and organized people.
My daughter and the other african Americans kids had to sit way in the back
Loved the show. Theater could use a renovation and larger restrooms
Great place for entertainment. Great for family movies and concerts.
I remember going to the Weinberg Center as a child to see the Nutcracker. One of my favorite childhood memories with my mother and Grandmother. The Christmas decorations, the lights, and warm greetings flooded my memories as I walked into the The Weinberg Center, the most joyous times of my life. My mother and I finally found the courage to attend the Nutcracker this year to celebrate my Grandmothers life. Then I was quickly saddened. Everything had changed there were few decorations, few lights, and disconcerting customer service! One hostess lured us out after we had just used the restroom by making comments If you stand outside the doors you will be the first to the bar to get alcohol. I smiled out of embarrassment bit thought why is there judgement? I took immediate offensive but did not respond and stood out in the main lobby until it was 1:30. When we sat down before the show started my mother and I were whispering stories of my Grandmother and the Weinberg Center. To prevent crying we were silently laughing. The ballet began the man sitting next to me had his legs spread wide rubbing against my left leg, I was practically sitting on my mothers lap. I was sweating due to his body language that made me feel uncomfortable. Sure I would have asked my mother to trade seats with me but why am I going to put my mother in an uncomfortable situation. My mother had asked why there are not lights on the tree. As I whispered to her the man sitting next to me loudly with an aggressive tone leaned forward and said, Are you guys going to talk the whole time! Shocked and smiling I replied, Yes we are. He stood up, leaned toward me and said, Then I guess Ill get the Maitre d. I explained I was kidding. He pulled his shirt down, sat down, and began talking to his wife! I was so upset he could have handled the situation much better with more poise. When he stopped talking to his wife past his 3 children who witnessed their dad and husbands aggressive body language, he quickly returned to his seated position; legs spread far and wide rubbing against mine. I would move closer to my mother he would spread wider and continue to rub his leg against mine. I was on the brink of crying I was angry, shocked, we are still grieving our family loss. I felt the need to leave. I did not feel safe nor comfortable. As we left I told the man, Thanks to your behavior we are leaving. Now you have more leg room. As we left the theatre the Maitre d said out loud, Wow that didnt take long. The ballet started at 2:11 when it should have started at 2 and we left at 2:27. When I mentioned the disrespectful gentleman that was sitting next to us gave us enough reason to leave all of the Maitre ds stood there staring at us. They said nothing and did nothing. Unfortunately this will be my last memory of the Weinberg Center. I have no intentions of returning. I am disgusted! I am disappointed with the WHOLE experience!
Great scene for local and distant performance artists!
What an incredible place. Walk in and youre in a whole different world. Wonderfully restored.
Saw Beatles tribute band! Great music, great venue!
Very nice I enjoyed the show sunday November 10 2019
Saw Ronny Milsap here November 16, 2019 great venue, great show, good for the soul sing alongs!!!
This is a fine historic theater hosting everything from childrens concerts to rock concerts.
Attended a live show at the Weinberg Center and had a great time. Its an Art Deco theater in downtown Frederick. Easy to find. There is some on-street parking, but its even easier to use the parking garage around the corner. The theaters lobby area is spacious with a variety of concession options. The theater itself is very nice with comfortable seats. All in all, a fine time was had by all.
Great location but not close if you starting from DC. Plan accordingly!
Great experience. Comfortable seating, average acoustics with relatively thin walls. Emergency vehicle could be distinctively heard disrupting the artist performing.
Really enjoyed this place. Beautiful, older theater. Of course, the best part was getting to see Brooks Robinson. Awesome!
Love this place! However the awful seating quality keeps me from coming back. You have no personal space and are uncomfortable the entire time.
Love this place. Its our 2nd trip there. Just over an hour from home & we get to see world class entertainment.
My first time here. Delightful in every way.
Wonderful place to see shows and music.
Beautiful theater. Ive visited many times and have never had a bad seat.
This is a great venue. Weve seen speakers here, bands, Quinn Sullivan!!! ... This time it was the 72 hour film fest which weve caught here numerous times since our son usually enters. This time he got picked to move on to Saturday night showcase. Great fun.
Great show. John Denver
Great experience overall to enjoy the arts!
Comfortable seating, pleasant staff, good accoustics. Ample parking in the connected garage. I would go back again.
Great old theater. Take the tour if you have a chance. Very interesting.
Its a nice theater with a historic feel. Seats are a tad squished together. The bar is CASH ONLY same with candy or snack purchases. There are signs but cash only is uncommon and many forget. An ATM is on sight, Im not sure what the service charge is though. A parking garage is right around the corner as well.
Amazing performances and so many to choose .
Comfortable. Good customer service. Connected to parking garage
Beautiful and well maintained. Alot of effort has gone into restoring this place and it shows.
I have so many great memories at the Weinberg! From childhood, sitting in the balcony watching movies, later dancing on stage; throughout early adulthood to today seeing many great performances, the Weinberg has been a part of my own, and my familys history.
Great events in a beautiful place!
Luv this historic and beautiful theater. Its kinda small but I like it .
A lovely building, nice staffers and engaging bartender. The comedy show we attended was not what was expected, but more a fundraiser for a local club. The second half of the night was a professional comedian.
The staff is amazing here, everyone is super helpful and friendly. The theater sports a wide variety of shows, so theres always something for everyone here. Ticket prices are great, seating is great, the building is gorgeous and historic. I highly recommend stopping in for a tour!
I have been here twice, and both times were fantastic. The venue is large enough to accommodate a pretty good size crowd, but small enough to feel very personal. The historic feel of the building adds to the whole experience.
Not suited for a ballet as far as the theatre layout is concerned, but historic nonetheless.
Didnt like them selling beer then not being able to drink it while in theater. You had to stand and chug it before going into theater
Wonderful theater. Saw Red Green here. Everything was wonderful.
Went for a normal band I see and didnt know what to expect. Its an auditorium with Great acoustics. Worth the drive.
Gorgeous art deco style theatre with a wide variety of music, theatre, and other performances. The orchestra seating only is wheelchair accessible; theres no elevator up to the balcony or mezzanine, so be aware when booking tickets. You can book tickets online with a credit card, but the bar and any vendors selling in the venue are almost always cash only. Luckily, theres two ATMs on the block right by the theatre. If you have light-sensitive epilepsy, call ahead to check on a shows lighting effects, since they dont warn on show descriptions for that. The staff are friendly, though, and its a great experience to go to the Weinberg.
It had an atmosphere of an old school type theatre. Good upcoming performances.
This is a treasured venue in the city of Frederick MD. The venue has been refurbished several times but continues to charm and amaze with its old world architecture and accoustics. My recent visit was to see the annual Tuba Christmas concert. Another great feature of the Weinberg Center is the pipe organ with the pop up organ keyboard console for the musician. Its an unforgettable experience to hear that organ and have the musician and organ keyboard elevate through a trap door in center stage. This makes seeing silent movies a treat for young and old alike.
Great venue. Go see a Silent Movie, accompanied by their mighty Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ!
A nice venue
Great venue with plenty of old world charm. Not a bad seat in the house.
First time seeing a play at the Weinberg Center and my only complaint is that it was difficult to hear the dialogue. The production was good and the storyline was easy to follow since I had never seen nor read A Christmas Carol but had a general idea of what it was about. The production was even being interpretated for the deaf audience, which was thoughtful. The building is old and has a feel of nostalgia, but could do with an update in some areas. I purchased my tickets the morning of the show at the box office which eliminated fees and surcharges. I would return and recommend if something else came that was interesting.
Great service and very helpful at the box office
Home of the last theater organ in Maryland original to the building. Well kept and a great tour.
