The trail was amazing, a nice casual stroll, with beautiful views. Every turn produced a stunning opportunity, gorgeous colors of leaves against a serene sky. The later it got, the more beautiful it was. Great place for a photo shoot, a bike ride, a leisurely walk, or even fishing. This is a place to remember on a colorful Autumn day.
I love the little trails all around. Its such a peaceful and neat area for walks. I love the one that goes directly down the middle of one of the ponds, thats not something you see every day! Plus all the side animal trails that lead to the little river are neat too.
It was a beautiful early morning2 mile trek around some of the ponds with many different paths to follow. Followed to poudre river some and the ponds. Although in the city it felt like the wilderness.
Finally, a place near Fort Collins where you can exercise, walk, run and feel like I am really alone in nature. That said, it is also family friendly. There was a group of kids who walked over from the neighborhood and went fishing. There is little shade except on the western edge, so I recommend morning g and evening. In fact, watching the sun set over the lakes is especially beautiful.
First timer. Many hikers around. A number of people fishing. A beautiful and a relaxing place to go to. City of Fort Collins is lucky to have such a place.
Beautiful spot to see a little bit of everything and you can bring your dog.
Was fun easy walk. Seen some deer. Was cool they had mud on the bottom half. Nice little quick get out walk around.
Such a beautiful tucked away gem that is right under our noses
Such beautiful trails! a great place to go!
Love going there for a lovely nature walk and fishing if I have time. Great place to take kiddos fishing or on a walk with puppers.
It is so very beautiful there I love walking the paths.
Trees were beautiful and we had a great time .
Absolutely beautiful. Fort Collins is really a nice city.
A real place of peace and friendly equity boosters.
Nice place for a walk while enjoying views.
Nice sandy walk ways. Plenty of places to fish and hike. Lots of space and very conveniently located.
Big carp, lots of Bass and turtles, great fishing and a beautiful little spot, great for kids too . Just watch out for snakes and bring sunblock .
Nice place to hike. A good place to away from the city in the middle of the city.
A natural nature area and you didn’t have to drive far!
Great place really chill the wife loved it and my dogs enjoyed it
Very cool little pond area....good trails and lots of space. Also clean bathrooms. But, so many mosquitos....and huge.....I almost was carried off.
Great scenery and good fishing!
Cool little trail system to walk around the ice
Riverbend ponds is a great place to escape the city without leaving the city.. the trails are nice and wide although can be somewhat muddy in the winter time.. there are lots of birds that live in the marshy areas and Ive even seen bald eagles there which is a wonderful site.. I love getting exercise walking all of the various trails and checking out the wildlife
Saw my first osprey standing next to his best.
Nice trails, so many options the parking lot can be full and you can still find some privacy. Good space with lots of ponds and lovely river views. Looks like a great option for in town fishing.
I walk my dog here at least 2-3 times a week. Even more in the summer! Beautiful and lengthy natural area. You can go to this same area multiple times and find new routes to take. It can get muddy so wear appropriate shoes. Even so a great and beautiful walk! Only complaint is those who disrespect the area. Lots of the fishers dont pick up their trash and like to plant themselves in the middle of paths. I have no problem with people fishing if they clean up after themselves, but dont block the walking path. Especially the bridge about five minutes near the timberline entrance.
Beautiful area with a lot of trails to walk or ride on
The dirt paths offered natural areas for walking and biking. The weather was moderate. Low docks create walking paths to navigate shallow water areas. Very green and opportunities for bird watching. Not crowded.
Good wildlife viewing and some ok fishing. Very nice place to walk with kids. It also had good south and east sky line so its nice for watching sunrises and summer storms out on the plains.Downsides are messy fisherman (lots of line hooks and bait containers left about) and people who dont clean up after their dogs.
Best place on earth!
Lovely walk around the ponds. Spotted some adorable birds along the way and really enjoyed some educational boards on the trails. There was a lot of horse poop though.
One of my favorite places to hike in Fort Collins. Unpaved trails keep majority of bicyclists away since we prefer to just walk.
Love the birds and the fall colors
The best natural area on the east side of town, with a variety of loops in a flat, compact area. The longest is 2 miles, making for a good local trail run. Great views of and access to the lakes and Poudre, and plenty of trees keep the roads nearby from interfering with the experience.
Nice place to see ducks!!
Beautiful place for a walk. In my opinion, one of Fort Collins better natural areas. In the summer you can see geese, ducks, blue heron, pelicans, egrets and more. Beautiful also in the winter with snow on the ground.
Very clean, not a far walk to fishable water at all. Got lucky with 1 fish using a spinner, if they are big enough you can keep them. The trail is really pretty, lots of dogs so lots of fun seeing all the four legged friends. Didnt see any bikes so it was a quiet trail, no yelling during the week. Dont know about weekends though, next time!
Kids had a blast fishing there.
Beautiful sunset, so peaceful
Many many trails lots of wild life seen a skunk. Great for dogs but not a off leash place fishing everywhere running biking much to do and see
Love walking around the ponds. Good memories from walking it with my son!!
Trail along ponds, fishing, hiking, biking. Went with large family and spread out. Parking is a bit limited but street parking works
Very nearby! Nice easy walk, and you can bring your dogs.
I enjoy my jogging here. Very scenic! You may even see the occasional turtle.
Beautiful nature walk. Clean bathroom. Got to see wild turkey
Lots of fall colors right now.
I love this place so much!
Fort Collins and Latimer County at their best!
This is a great place to go for a walk for some exercise, and it is in town. Scenery and wild life make you feel like you are a long ways from the hustle and bustle. There are plenty of people around, which makes me feel a lot safer than some paths/trails.
Beautiful and peaceful. Usually dries faster or is less muddy than other soft surface trails.
Amazing natural area.
A great place to take a nature walk and watch birds. People are respectful and keep their dogs on leashes so we can all enjoy the wildlife.
Great walking and fishing natural area. Levi paths make for an easy walk. 3 different ponds to fish in as well as part or the river. Mostly bass, possibly some carp. Always fib and great for kids too!
Multiple loops around multiple ponds. Neat man made land bridges. Some wood bridges. Hidden cattail walk in the north neighborhood entrance. Plenty of small bluegill. Good spots for elderly or handicapped. High foot traffic and blind corners everywhere. Hazardous to ride bike here.
This a great place for relaxing strolls and nature viewing. Our smallest child loves his daily walks along the trails. Bring bug spray as the mosquitoes love the ponds too!
Parking was easy to get to and it is right off the trail. There is a restroom in the parking lot for use if needed. Trails are clearly marked and they take you to all edges of the ponds. There are many areas to fish off the trails where some are shaded and others are in the sun. The ponds are stocked periodically.
Nice, I was hiking, lots of people swimming.
Good place for a leisurely walk.
The water here is clear at turtle pound and only caught bluegill from 4 to 8 inches in size, total of 4 fish.
Great place to walk my dog
Saw Alligator Snapping Turtle here! Nice place for kayaking.
Easy to get to peace.
Beautiful view and quiet place to go to for an early morning escape from the city. Ducks in the pond and birds all around feels like your miles from the city yet you are still there.
Great easy walk
Wonderful trails for biking, walking and pets. Well maintained around numerous ponds. Great to go fishing, easy to catch little Sunny fish.
Always a good time
Nice place to walk the dogs!
No maps should be out during covid
I love this place, so peaceful and a wonderful place to take the kiddo and dog for a walk.
Walk and bike around lakes!
Gorgeous colors
Its nice! We saw a few fish and 2 turtles. There are porta-potties which is key. No water.
I live near here and my.dogs love it. Decent paths and people around.
Wasnt too crowded. And the kid caught one first cast. It was a great time
Its beautiful here. They do have a restroom at the parking lot off of Timberline. There are quite a few dirt trails for walking/running. The Poudre trail is just on the west side of the river and thats a very nice concrete trail. The fishing is poor to ok. Most the ponds have issues with winter killing (full or partial).
Loved hiking up and picnic by the ponds
This place is delightful. So many birds, and other wildlife. We even had the pleasure of seeing fireflies there!
Met a guy fishing and he said he is successful. I went for a walk and found it amazing for the nature
Really liked this natural area. So much water. Lakes, streams, the river. A lot of it felt very secluded as well even though you can encounter a neighborhood at the south end of the trail near Timberline. There are two gender neutral outhouse style bathrooms spaced along the trail. There are a lot of fishing spots and places to recycle used tackle. One of the lakes has beautifully clear water and you can find frogs, crawdads, and several varieties of fish.I highly recommend this place for all ages and many abilities. It seemed reasonably accessable for wheelchairs and large wheel strollers on the main trail but it would likely be a bit bumpy. The bikers I saw were all having a good time and dogs on leashes are welcome in the space. There are dog waste bag stations as well to enable responsible clean up.
Absolutely amazing I love this place so much
Got a ticket for sitting next to the river with my service dog not on a leash. She was next to me. Not running around not playing not engaging with wildlife or other animals or humans.According to the ticketor we all have to be on the same page and every dog must be on a leash.! so the funny thing is I can pay the $100 or I can show up to dispute or challenge yet at which point that jumps to $1,000. How is this legal
Nice place to hike and get away for a couple hours. You can fish here. I am not sure if you can launch a kayak.
Very peaceful place to take grandkids fishing
Lots of places to walk my dog
This is my favorite natural area in Fort Collins. The beautiful ponds and diverse habitat offer many opportunities to view a variety of waterfowl, shore birds, raptors, and other birds such as Belted Kingfishers. Its dog-friendly and is not typically busy. I highly recommend this park.
Beautiful natural walking areaDifferent trails keep it interesting
