Beautiful natural area! I loved the trail system on my mtn bike - good challenge to say the least (for me anyways:)! Also, the area has a fascinating diversity of ecology & biospheres whose harmony made my heart happy. I was excited to learn about it all with the plaques and aunty Google but Im a nerd so
An absolutely beautiful place to visit, hike, and fish. Found lots of fossils while rock hunting and had an amazing time.
It was very good, I love the peace and quiet un a beautiful crisp morning. Only saw few people around but not bad...
Great place to get some bass fishing done within Fort Collins. Ample parking and good trails.
Great place to hike, bike, or horseback ride. Also fish and boat without a motor.
Nice easy trails in foothills just above where i live. Great morning views, 65°, cloudless sky! No crowds, finished with stroll in Spring Creek park !
Its a pretty area, but narrow trails and minimal coverage from the sun.
Beautiful place. You can see lots of prairie dogs there. It is hot during the day time tho.
Easy hike no elevation gain.
My first mountain biking trails! Its good for beginners and even more beautiful than I expected. I had to get off my bike a few times, but it was a great balance of challenge and comfort.
Easy trails, but great views. Super accessible from Fort Collins if you need a quick outdoor fix.
It is a super place I went and I loved it
Love the era! We did yesterday finally and it is going to be a trail to work on my MTB skills. Fun trail.
Very nice place. Its great to have an outdoor area so close to the city like this one. Trails are maintained very well. Only reason for taking one star off was because of the crowds we were there on a weeknight and it was still very crowded. Biggest problem with the crowds is if you are walking along the trails youre constantly getting pass by bicyclist and have to really watch your dog on a leash
Nice easy walking/biking trail around the reservoir with plenty of nature to see
Great family friendly hike! My favorite so far.
Prairie dogs are entertaining. Well maintained.
Whats better than trail running through a prairie dog colony?! Nothing! Easy parking, a couple nice trails you can choose depending on distance you want to run, and mtn bike traffic is minimal
Great for a walk arounf the lake its close enough to go often yet secluded enough to feel far off from town.
A nice hike around the lake. Best to start early as the winter sun drops quickly and things get pretty cold. Be sure to use some good shoes, the trail has a lot of ice.
This is a really cool park with prairie dogs very close to the trail so you can watch them up close. It was fun watching them barking and digging holes. There are quite a few mountain bikers sharing the trail but they are very aware of pedestrians and give them the right of way.
Great hike! First hike in years. 88 degrees so made it 2/3 the way up this time. Will be back.
Cool place just out of town. Gets crowded sometimes.
Good spot to get a quick uni ride in! Low key enough that nobody has an attitude. Never oppressively busy like blue sky can be.
A nice place to hike on the west side of town
Break from all the city. Pretty lovely.
One of our favorite fishing spots. Close to town, beautiful scenery!
Love to fish Dixon. Great spot to take my kayak.
Super well maintained trail area. The way the trails are connected you can do a shorter hike if you have little kids or a nice long bike ride. Love that horses are allowed in this area. Dogs allowed on leash.
Perfect afternoon hike right next to Fort Collins but it feels like you are out in the middle of nowhere once you are over the ridge. Pretty busy but more than worth a five-minute drive.
One of my favorite places in town. Could use some more trails to disperse traffic on busy days, but overall a great asset to FoCo.
They all act like they want to be outdoors lmao
Great family place
Fun trails
A little too many skeeters. ;)
Wonderful place to take an easy hike around the lake, with nice views. Great area to walk with dogs or go for a run as well. My only complaint is the steepness leading over the ridge can be a bit treacherous if you park on the dog park side of the trail and could probably use a few built in steps to help ease erosion.
A huge park with great expansive trails - a beautiful ancient area.
Pineridge Natural Area is one of the City of Fort Collins’ most interesting natural areas. From Dixon Reservoir in the north to the open prairie with its prairie dog colonies in the south, you will find a varied landscape to view here. The area is very popular with hikers (with and without dogs), runners, mountain bike riders and horseback riders. Note that dogs must be on leash in this area. An interesting loop of 4 to 5 miles is to take the Timber Trail on the west side through the Ponderous Pines, go around Dixon Reservoir to the north on the Reservoir Loop Trail and then connect with the Valley Trail on the east side for a walk through the open prairie with all of its prairie dog colonies.
The kids loved it, we fished and caught a lot of small sunfish and bass but it was still a blast for the kids. Then we walked about halfway around the lake and it was not to bad except for a small amount of mosquitos
Nice natural area to hike, and bird. There is a small resevouir and the trail goes around the water. Bring your mosquito repellent. There are some areas in which there a lot of those blood suckers. There are picnic tables and bathroom facilities. Very nice place.
It is a beautiful spot to go for a walk or a run
Hiking trails on open space.
A great place for an evening walk.
Has many trails for cycling and hiking, a nice lake with plenty of different types of fish. Its also with in minutes from horestooth resivour. You can stop by and see for yourself and take in that clean Colorado air... also free parking!!
Beautiful place to get out, recharge & soak up some sun, especially during the cold months. Mellow trails for walking, running or biking. Can be toasty in the summertime with so few trees. Feels like youre out of the city, but its just another west-side FoCO gem!
Love this place
Horsetooth is Beautiful
A wonderful place to go walking and hiking. People also walking dogs. Cycling and there are also numerous fields for sports. On one side of the park is a bark park for dogs. All is free parking.
Pretty. Close to town, but doesnt feel like it when you are there.
Great for an easy casual walk.
This was a beautiful area. Worth the trip.
It’s a nice area for hiking, trails are in good conditions. I just think there should be more trees, specially if you go with seniors and they need to rest in the shade.
Beautiful area definitely worth checking out!
Peaceful but can be a little swampy when TBE water is low.i recommend Bug repellent
Great hiking. Bring water. We hiked the Foothills Trail.
Drove our for a sunset. Complete waste of time. Terrible view. Its behind a dry dead hill. Nothing to see at all.
Beautiful and quiet foothills open space and trails.
Close by and lightly used during sunset week days
Its piece of heaven
Beautiful and peaceful.
Located in Spring Canyon, great beginner hike!
Clean quiet and a park pass not required
Very pretty. I went on a windy day, but it was still amazing!
A great place to take a walk or ride bikes.
Excellent and carried multi use trails, from wide gravel roads to single-track dirt. Flat and elevation trails (although too horribly steep for most). Great easterly and northerly vistas from several points. Wetlands, meadows, reservoir and pine forest areas. Ensure your dogs remain leashed due to frequent prarie dogs (bubonic plague carriers) and rare rattlesnakes. Bathroom and water opportunities at trailheads only. There is a very large off leash dog park with a fully enclosed canine lake at the Spring Canyon trailhead.
The hike was fairly easy, but offered great views of Fort Collins from the scenic viewpoint.
One of the most beautiful parks Ive ever been to.
Breathtaking beauty. Wish I could have stayed.
Great open area with wildlife and just outside of fort Collins. Its a quick drive from anywhere in town, with great views as well
Incredibly beautiful, the scent of the blossoms right now is intoxicating ️️️
A great place for a hike in the foothills West of Fort Collins there are also biking and fishing opportunities and some wildlife
Incredible beauty! This is a Pride and Joy of Fort Collins Award. :)This is why we live here!
Nice, small reservoir at around 6,000 foot elevation with a boat landing, camping area and a trail around it. The trail was easy enough for kids to ride their bikes around (with one spot to be walked) and the reservoir small enough to easily kayak around. There is a small cordoned off area of the water for water intake.
Great little hike especially if you have kids
The great place near Horsetooth Reservoir lots of fishing a bream catfish and largemouth bass in naira the trail that goes all the way around the lake that you can use trail bikes or walk whichever you prefer and of course beautiful scenery
A great, easy to access place to hike, ride, or run, but in terms of size does not hold a candle to Horsetooth or Lori.
This is my go-to quick hike location. It is clean, beautiful, and has multiple options that increase/decrease hike length. It is a popular location with high foot traffic due to it’s proximity to the park, dog park, and bike trail next door. I believe the hike ranges from 2 to 4 miles, depending on the trail chosen.
Great place to enjoy nature!
Great spot in FoCo to enjoy the outdoors. Even when a lot of people are out, it never really seems crowded.
Great, quick hike. Close to town. Great views of reservoir and farms from above.
Beautiful scenery. Nice, mello ride.
Nice trails close to town. Nice to hike, run and bike. Mostly flat with some really fun rolling sections by treeline. Connects to Spring Canyon Park and Maxwell Natural Area which takes you to Horsetooth Reservoir.
Been running and mountain biking this for years. Love this place. If you want a great warm up on a mountain bike, park at the dog park at the end of horse tooth road, then ride up the trail over the ridge to get into the park
Its a wonderful area to mountain bike, fish, and hike
We had a great time hiking!
Pineridge is great the only reason Im giving 4 instead of 5 is because if you drive 10 to 15 minutes further you get stuff thats even more amazing.
