Pirate Playground, fondly called Pirate Park by my precious four-year old grandson, has quickly become one of our most favorite places to visit when together and always a time of JOY!My sweet little pirate and I love to go off on day adventures together, exploring exquisite Amelia Island several times each week. As a nana, I honestly cannot think of a more invigorating spot on this beautiful island when seeking a perfect balance of boundless play and relaxation...this beautiful setting has found a way to appeal to all the senses!Relaxation is immediately felt upon entering the safety-gated grounds situated beneath the glorious canopy of oak trees, while added peace of mind comes from grounds that are strategically padded for safety to offer little pirates soft landings.Depending on the time of day you come for a visit, you will hear the rhythmic hum of chatter and laughter as your pirates will likely find fellow mates to interact with on an incredible array of equipment meant to stretch not only their growing muscles but also their limitless imaginations, as they run, swing, sway, climb, spin and dig! Industrious pirates will likely be found digging and building amidst the sand and water features, while musical pirates may play on the jumbo xylophone. There are plenty of shaded benches throughout if you choose to sit awhile and just watch little imaginations at play!I believe this little piece of heaven on earth was meant to appeal not only to adventurous pirates, but their caretakers too. Pirate Playground to me, is a rare treasure...one just waiting to be discovered!

What a nice place to bring the family and run off some energy. Plenty of shade makes it very comfortable.

Took my granddaughters to this park. They absolutely loved it! It has everything fun you can think of. Even musical instruments!

My grandbaby loves playing here! And its right next to the Greenway which is amazing.... Bring your dog and take a walk after the kids play on the playground and see all kinds of wild life including brown bunnies, herons and an abundance of wildflowers

Full of happy pollinators and late summer blooms. Laughter from the park is an added bonus

Great park with lots of unique playground equipment/activities. Its fenced in and there are also a couple of covered picnic tables and restrooms.

Visited in March:No bugs, lots of benches/seating for adults. For the kids there are a few swings, 2 of which are handicap accessible. The huge sandpit with 2 cranes and a water pump were a big hit with the kiddos.A bonus is the hiking trail right next to the park for a change of pace.FYI: there was only 1 single use bathroom.

My granddaughter loved it. The trails are fun.

This is a special place . Beside the Eagans Creek . With a veiw of the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway. What a veiw. And beautiful hiking trails right next to it️️️

My kids really enjoyed playing here. Even the teenagers. Has really cool playground. Not the normal park. Its behind the pool. GPS didnt get us quite there.

Very interesting for kids, and adults have fun too. Real running water to make waterways with through the sand!!

Great clean playground with bathrooms in a shady area.

Perfect for toddlers. Decent shade coverage from trees. Plenty of seating for parents as well. My toddlers love bringing their tricycles and riding around the place in addition to the fixtures.

Great shaded park and walking trails. Kids can run, swing, and play in the sand, at this fenced in playground. Bathrooms are close by. Covered eating area.

This is such a great playground! Not your standard play equipment. There is a huge sandbox with toys, an area with some big xylophone-type instruments to make music, a kind of little kid merry-go-round, climbing area, etc. Great for toddler-preschool age especially. Glad we found it!

Excellent experience for kids 12 and under! There were more toddlers there than we expected but being on vacation and looking for free things to do to kill the in-between times..this was perfect! There is also put put golf, kona ice and a skate park for beginners on the same block! No parking fees that I saw! Also beach access!

My childrens favorite park! They love working with the water and sand, and going for walks on the trail. ️

This playground is fenced in. It has very unique equipment. It provides a safe area for kids to explore and play with things not found at usual park. It has a water wheel, large sand box area, musical equipment. Climbing net, spinning wheel that you can sit 5 kids in. It also has a pirate ship and captains mast. It does not have a slide or infant swings. Most of the playground has a bouncy/firm rubber ground. There is also a little bridge for the kids to walk on ( not over water ). Bathrooms are close by and usually clean.

It is a fun playground. The ping doesnt take you right to the playground but to the parking lot in front. The park had lots of shade and the kids stayed busy and had fun digging in the sand. Definitely will have them wear play clothes next time!

This play ground is one of the best ones I have been at for little kids. A fence around the play area is such a brilliant idea if you have multiple children. They have a sand arean with shovels, buckets, dump trucksn crane style shovels that kids can work on using both hands. A water spout that kids need to turn to get the water running, makes the wheels move and makes playing in the sand with water that much better. A music area for the ones that love to bang on things. Swings, merry go round. A newer version of a seasaw the whole family can use.

Great public park.....needs some TLC/updating. Thanks to all who contributed to this enjoyable play/learning space for kids.

My kids love this park. Bring a change of clothes in case they get too messy in the sand pit and water station. No baby swings.

Nice shady playground with restrooms and drinking fountain. There are a few playgrounds in the area but this one is the only one worth going to. Free to use and parking right by.

Our favorite spot in Fernandina. The best mix of nature, sensory play, and play sets. My kids are always so happy when I announce we are headed there!

Amazing playground with lots to do. Its mostly shaded which is perfect for summer play. A lot of the equipment is open concept allowing kids to use their imaginations during play. I will definitely frequent this playground

Lovely playground with lots of activities for kids. Lots of shade with a nice breeze make it very comfortable on a hot day. Close to a bathroom and water fountain with hiking/biking trails for the adventurous(bug spray is a must).

The best park on the island, hands down. I love that its fenced in and shady, so mom and dad can relax while kiddos play! They love the sand and water area, swings, and the giant musical instruments!

Great playground! There is a large sandbox with a water pump that the kids loved! Also, the playground is completely fenced in, so you dont have to worry about your kids wondering off.

Small and a different kind of park. I like that it had a lot of shade. Not to much thing for the little ones to play with.

Love how different this play area is!!! Its awesome for all ages, and abilities!!! It is kind of tricky to find! Google maps said you are here, and I looked around and didnt see it... After passing the area at least 3x I realized I had to turn down a little dirt road along a parking lot to another place to get there!!! So better signage would be nice on the main drag... But then again it was pretty popular spot while I was there prepare for your kids to get dirty and or wet!!! Cant wait to bring my kids next time!!

Very neat playground. Different from your typical swing and teeter totter playground. They have sand pits with tractor style diggers. They have various exercise equipment like rope climbs.Itbis surrounded by a hiddent gem called the Egans Bluff trail. A couple mile trail with bird and wildlife. A must see

My twin three year olds love the activities available to you at this park. The set up cultivates imagination and I love it! There is also a nature trail behind it.

Great place to take the grandchildren to spend a few hours enjoying the various activities.

My daughter loves this park. The equipment is unique and theres rubber flooring on a good portion of the playground. The sand box is in desperate need of more sand though. The concrete edges are exposed and unsafe. I also think it needs a warning near the swings with a harness. They tend to fall when youre putting kids in and out of the swings, hitting them on the head. I still give it five stars because we go almost daily and enjoy it. But just keep an extra eye on the kiddos in the swings and sand pit.

My daughter loves this park - interesting things to play on, a huge sand pit with manipulables, and big musical instruments for them to practice. Surrounded by a Greenway, and adjacent to a community center, its safe, fun, and great for kids and adults!

This is a very well kept playground. And plenty of things to do for our younger one.

This is a really fun playground with lots of different options for kids. It is handicap accessible and caters to many different forms of play.

Was surprised by this playground. Usually parks have equipment which half works but this was quite the opposite. Everything worked and worked well even though it was a park that seems to be established.
