Weve lived in Fayette County for a while now, but it wasnt until recently that we visited the park and loved it! We LOVE the wooded areas and how fresh it felt. We LOVED the fresh breeze we had that day. We enjoyed seeing all of the people fishing, exercising and walking their dogs as well. We took our 2 youngest babies in their umbrella strollers, and one stroller had better wheels than the other, so it traveled easier on the trail than the other stroller. So if you want to take your stroller, keep mind that the roots from the trees, and the trail itself (in the wooded areas), may make it tricky to stroll on sometimes. However, a lot of the trail is paved. There are picnic pavilions, benches throughout the park, and playgrounds (we arent comfortable letting our babies play on it yet though). If Im not mistaken, there is a total of 10 miles of trail? Dont quote me on that. All in all, we loved it and want to go back.

Beautiful scenery. Very calming and peaceful, but is a popular place that attracts many people. My family fishes here for fun and don’t catch a lot for the time we’re at the location. Overall, great place to relax and read a book, or meditate or do yoga. There’s a nice walking trail and a playground. The bugs aren’t too bad either.

Very peaceful, sitting, walking, fishing on or near the lake. Theyre is a playground for kids. Plenty of areas to setup a small picnic or just setup to relax. We love going and taking walks.

Nicely maintained boat launch, playground, picnic pavilion, restrooms and walking trails. Parking lots have ample spaces and good for a socially distances outing. Enjoyed our walk around the park!

North loop was longer if you just wanna get your steps in. South loop shorter and closer to the water. Great place to carry tour dogs!

Very relaxing, quiet and beautiful.Unfortunately it was a very hot summer Georgian afternoon so we didnt walk as far as we would have liked.Several people were casting for fish but not landing any. A friend who fishes there told me the water temperature was in the 80s.So, they all congregated to the cooler water in the center of the lake and could only be caught from a boat.There is a lovely picnic structure and a very clean bathroom building.Definitely a great place to visit in.the late summer, early fall.

We really enjoyed walking the trails.It was quite nice to see the deer right in front of us on the path through woods. Very well manicured/maintained grounds & facilities; nice & thoughtful exercise stations

Parking for out of county is $5. I didn’t explore the whole park but the paved trails take your through some dense wooded and even bamboo wooded areas. Of course their are ducks, we saw a super cool spider, there is an old building foundation we climbed on with the kiddos.

Really a nice area and Fishing is permitted, but anyone wishing to do so must have a valid fishing license and use an electric motor boat only. If you have a gas motor, it must be lifted so as not to touch the water at all times. PERIOD.Fishing is up and down. ...sometimes good to great ... sometimes no so much.During nice weather is can be busy. $5 Fee collected for non-Fayette county residents ...

Absolutely beautiful public park with walking/biking trails, fishing, boating and natural scenery. Never crowded, except the holidays. $5 per car to park for non-Fayette residents. Fishing license required.

First time my family and I went to Lake Horton and first time fishing. Even though we didnt catch any fish we had fun trying. People were very nice and informational. We will be back!!Now the only thing I didnt like is that the restrooms were closed and thats very inconvenient...but it might be because of the that woman named Corona..ugh

We love lake horton. We go down in the evenings sometimes and enjoy their walking trails. We go fishing there from time to time. We really enjoy our time down there. We highly suggest you take your significant other or your children down for an evening of enjoyment.

Rhe place is super clean great atmosphere, family oriented. Kids can run around free. There is a picnic area and play ground. Also walking trails where you can ride scooters and bikes. Love this place.

Wonderful place huge fish

Great little park! Easy access including handicap (even the water entry has a kayak/canoe access!). Nice small lake that is a drinking water source, so no swimming or contact and no fuel based boats allowed. Fishing appears good. Flat paved trails for walking/running (less than 2 miles total) and kids on bikes. Playground is fairly new. Restrooms available at the boat ramp and near the playground/picnic shelter.

LOVE this place. Its quite, clean and relaxing. I love to walk in the trail and sit in the swing and just RELAX. Nice place to MEDITATE. For Fayette Resident no entrance fee and for any other county, its a $5 entrance fee.

Great place to fish and just get out and explore. Found this guy on a bench not sure what it’s for but it did say not to disturb so we left him be. We are doing our part and going around picking up trash to keep this great lake clean!

Great place for an evening stroll, great scenery, always quiet, and never really crowded.

Nice spot for walking and bike riding. Its also an okay fishing spot (best results from a boat). The only downside is the non Fayette County $5 parking fee. It would be nice if you could purchase an annual pass.

Lake Horton is such a wonderful place to walk, bike, or run. Theres a lot of wildlife and many deer that love to hang out in the woods. There are even two bamboo forests.

Very low keyed park. Wonderful walking trails fairly basic kids playground. My kids get bored quickly but there are always plenty of friendly people walking around often with friendly dogs. Not a stellar park. But none the less pretty scenery.

We love to walk at Lake Horton. A few times we have seen deer, few snakes and a ton of squirrels. It’s wonderful to be able to have a place like this in the community.

Nice clean park on Lake Horton. Put your small boat in the water, fish or walk the trails. They also have a pavillion for use, as well as picnic tables and a workout and play area.

What good is a lake you cant swim in...?

Fun place to get away. Walking trails and playground, restrooms etc for kids. Bring your dog, canoe, or just sit on a bench or large swing and relax.
