My family and I just had the pleasure of spending Saturday and Sunday of Labor day weekend partaking in the family camp they have to offer. It was truly an incredible experience and we will for sure be re-booking again next year. Steve(owner), Jordan and Ryan were there from start to finish each day. We started this experience with very little to no knowledge or past efforts in wake boarding and by the end of day 1 we were all standing up and starting to learn maneuvers on the board. By the end of day 2 we all made a go on the large cable course and had a blast. Steve is a great coach, loves what he does and it truly resonates down to the point of teaching my 6 and 8 year old with ease. We appreciated all the one on one attention we received even on a busy Holiday Weekend. This place was incredible and we will definitely be back! Thanks for a 5 star weekend as well a 5 Star experience Steve and Team!

A friend and I went to Wake Nation for a womens training day and it was unforgettable! The owner, Steve, was so helpful and adjusted his teachings to each of our skill levels. Id wakeboarded a few times over the years but left feeling like I learned more within those few hours than over many years. This place is welcoming to all skill levels, but I highly recommend a lesson if you’re a beginner- you’ll be up on the water and confident in no time. Steve was accommodating and made sure we had a good time, you feel like family when youre there. It is an amazing atmosphere, unique and definitely worth a trip- youll want to keep going back!

I took my first trip to Wake Nation last week, and I’m already hooked! As a first time wake boarder, the nerves were definitely present before starting my first lesson. The owner, Steve made everyone feel so comfortable and really tailored his approach during the lesson to each individual person and their unique skill level. His expertise as a teacher, along with his positive feedback and encouragement, truly helped build the confidence I needed when the time came to try out my skills on the main cable. Never having touched a wakeboard before this, I was shocked when I managed to stand up on my very first try, and I attribute all of my success to Steve and his lessons. I will definitely be returning this year. My only regret is not trying it out earlier this summer!

If you are looking for an amazing day to spend with your family this is it. Get an hour wakeboard lesson with Steve (owner), Jordan or Connor and I promise, you and the kids will be shredding in no time. Very affordable and everyone treats you like you are part of the crew. The entire vibe is awesome with good music and supportive people all around. Even if you are just taking kids, there are plenty of shaded spots to watch from, also lounge chairs to relax in. I guarantee you will come back if you give this place a try. Top notch service and amenities! If your not into wakeboarding the Aqua Park is one of the biggest best setups in the country! The season pass is worth every penny, your kids will spend all day there if you let them. Check it out.

I live two hours away, came down with a group, to be told the lessons are booked. We basically filled out the waivers then were asked if we’ve been before. I tried calling and spoke to someone who said it’s all on the website. They would not even answer our questions on the phone at all. This was a wasted trip, if you’re in the phone with some have the proper customer service knowledge to answer a couple quick questions. This place is ridiculous, I’ll definitely go somewhere else for this type of venture.

Staff and customers are always super friendly. There is no room for negativity here. Everyone acts as a group and wants to help make everyones time as wonderful as possible. If youre just starting out, youll have a whole cheering section excited for you to get going. If youre a seasoned vet, youll have tons of kids oooh and ahhh after each successful (and failure) attempt off one of the water features.I have been coming to Wake Nation since 2013 and I have recruited numerous friends and family members to join me. The features continue to improve each year with more advanced rails appearing. The Aqua Park has grown exponentially the last few years and is always a blast for children, teenagers and adults. There is plenty of shaded areas to stay cool and plenty of chairs to relax. The facilities are clean as well.I cant recommend Wake Nation high enough for anyone and everyone. Ill continue to visit as often as possible.

Took our son who has been wakeboarding behind a boat all summer. Upon paying for a 2 hour pass was informed by 1 that this experience would be “different” but never was informed that a lesson would be advised. Went through orientation with mention again of need for wakeboard experience but not specified that experience needed to be with “cable” waking. Son had 2 chances and was unable to get up so the owner told him he couldn’t because he had never waked behind the cable before. After deflating my sons confidence, the owner condesendingly offered to provide a slight lesson since he was a “nice guy”. By then we were frustrated with the miscommunication and requested a refund but we were rudely denied. First and last experience not for the service provided but for the rude customer service experience!! Be cautious when visiting this business that you get facts and aren’t being misled as we were.

We traveled from Cleveland to experience this amazing park. My son, already a wake boarder, was able to learn proper technique and even a few tricks from the very professional and kind staff. My daughter, whom had never wake boarded, was able to progress from the knee board (which she loved) to standing after one lesson. Looking out on the lake under shady canopies, surrounded by grassy fields and trees, you are transported to a vacation! I highly recommend for water sports lovers, adventure enthusiasts, beginners, and even those who have no interest in participating! Such a FANTASTIC experience! It is under new ownership & great changes are being made! Before I boast about all the fun I had, let me tell you a few helpful tips & general info.Anyone is aloud in, free of charge, if youre just watching! They do not sell food but do sell some basic beverages & they have water fountains near the restrooms. Surprisingly, they are kind enough to let you bring in your own cooler, so have at it! (Altho, Id be shocked if food wasnt on the owners to do list.) Also, there are plenty of places to sit in the shade, including picnic tables, or lounge chairs for you sun worshipers! For you workaholics, FREE WIFI & a long countertop desk w/more outlets than anyone could possably need, & it still allows you to see/enjoy all the action but inside & in the AC!!!If youre outside & need to cool off or simply just want to have some fun, check out their inflatable water park that is on a small man made pond, just behind/past the main cable park! Prices are borderline cheap for everything but I do believe they offer their small waterpark for free under certain circumstances ot to some people but dbl check on that & def dont quote me lol.Btw, Yes, I did mention a CABLE. U are not pulled by a boat here! The cable runs the full circle of the lake, at 2 different speeds. The slower, more manageable speed is always during their 1st two hrs of operation only. All equipment & gear is rented on site. Yes, you have to wear a helmet! You will thank them for this rule, along with any others!Wakeboarding is a great activity for all ages & a great full body workout! Id personally say 4 yrs old - 100 (assuming no one has any injuries, major health issues or ANY activity restrictions.) Pretty much all ages are welcome to learn! LEARN BEING THE KEY FACTOR HERE!!! SAFETY IS VERY IMPORTANT & DEFINITELY IMPORTANT TO THE OWNER & it SHOULD be to you too. There can be risks & possible injury, just like w/all sport! There may be some places that will let u do whatever u want, no training or even knowledge required. Just hope for the best.. Yeah...THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE PLACES! Thank goodness! So, heres how it works. If you are new to this sport, there are 2 steps that are required. Step #1, the beginner class (I opted for a private lesson & LOVED it!) This is where you learn most of your basics (how to properly hold the cable, while its pulling you, how to stand up from the water, ride with 1 foot in front, then the other, etc etc) & that can vary based on how quickly you learn. This lesson is not on the main lake/cable. Its off in a smaller pond & pretty secluded. Only the people you want to watch will see you, which makes for a completely non threatening environment thats MUCH MORE CONDUSIVE TO LEARNING!Next, Class #2 Start & Turn. People with some experience may be able to start here but dont quote me lol. This lesson IS taught on the MAIN lake & cable. They only offer this class once a day, starting @ 11am (before they open to the public.) Now, they only allow 4 students, SO MAKE A RESERVATION IN ADVANCE! During this class, the cables running at its slower speed. Start meaning, starting from on top of the dock, rather than starting in the water. This is DEF one of the most important steps if u want to ride a cable!Turn well, that is pretty self explanatory but is considered healside & toeside turns & now in a much bigger lake, with a steady cable speed that will not stop, even if you do. (So fyi, let go if u fall!!!) Theres also more people & park features (ramps, rails, boxes etc) Yes, you can go around them lol.Once you have finished that class & passed with flying colors, the park is just opening for business & now you have 2 hrs to ride as much as you like! Btw, its a free 2 hrs! Its ACTUALLY included in the minimal cost of the start & turn lesson! Well, seems my actual review will have to follow lol. Safe to say, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! DEF worth a little extra drive for their PERSONABLE APPROACH, KNOWLEDGE & ALL AROUND FUN, FRIENDLY, CHILL VIBE

Management double booked lessons that cut into the intermediate speed resulting in 45 minutes of lost slow speed for my kids after a 4 hour drive (round trip). So a two hour pass was only half good for the kids. I purchased a pass for myself after the kids started and the last 30 minutes of my ride didn’t happen due to equipment failure that shut down the line for an extended period of time. The play park has no beach or relax area for the little kids so half the family went to a local pool to relax. This park caters to older or better riders. Not good for all ages. For a 2 hour beginner wakeboard session, its $100 even. For a 4 hour session its $105 (according to the $70 price I was told plus the $30-$35 ticket). As Snowboarders in Ohio, myself and my fiance are used to paying a fair amount for a ticket or pass. But we couldnt cope with $210 for 4 hours our first time there. Thats a bit much. There used to be a bit of mixed reviews about Wake Nation, and Id like to help clear that upWake Nations previous owners/management didnt prioritize guest experience and ran things in a poor manner. Previous features in the park were falling apart and would ruin equipment. The old monster rail had screw heads sticking up enough to rip a chunk out of my new (at the time) Ronix Bill Bananarama. When I pointed it out to management, they claimed it was an inherent risk of riding the park and essentially brushed me off. I didnt return for years. However Wake Nation was purchased by a new owner last year (I think) and news of this was enough to get me to go back. IM SO GLAD I DID.New ownership had really made the place so much better. They have replaced many old features and are adding tons of new ones. All super high quality and absolutely sick. We were privileged enough to get to be the first ones on the new 4ft A-frame rail and man. What a treat! Everyone there is there for the love of the shred. And they are always willing to help get people into the sport!Aside from the new cable features, Im a huge fan of the sun shade structure they added to the deck and the family games in the yard area. We had a bit of downtime due to lighting during our visit and those definitely made the experience better! So if your in the area, stop in and check out the Midwests premier cable destination. This place is SICK, The new owner is RAD, and even if you dont ride Im sure youll find yourself entertained!-Andrew S.
