Recently visited on a holiday. They had special deals for earlier times. Chairs were super comfortable and plenty of space between the seats. Helpful, friendly staff and the place seemed to be clean and well-maintained. If you park outside, you have to walk up the stairs and garage parking is also available. Noticed they also started playing international movies!

Pretty disappointed as of late. Ive been going to Regal for a while now and considered it to be one of the best theaters Ive been to. The theaters have lots of room with large, leather, reclining seats.A bit ago I went with a family member to see Ford V Ferrari. Was a good experience, though the volume was just a bit too loud so occasionally during the louder driving sequences itd become a tad bit uncomfortable.Today though, I went with the same family member to see The Invisible Man. Oh lord, the volume during the previews was insane! It was genuinely was painful and uncomfortable, and we asked one of the staff members if it could be turned down. Just to be clear, the volume was EXTREMELY loud, not just a little louder than ideal. We were told by the staff member that the previews and actual movie use separate volume levels, so hed just turn the volume down for the actual movie, and not the previews.Lovely. My mom and I proceed to wait outside of the theater until the previews are over. Note that its in the middle of a weekday, so were the only ones in the theater. After a while, I poke my head in and notice the movies starting. We get seated once again and find that the volume is still way too loud. After a couple of minutes, we figured it wasnt going to change and left the theater. When talking to the same staff member, he seemed to admit that he hadnt really done anything to fix the issue and just hoped that the movie would be quiet enough compared to the previews for the problem to go away. This whole scenario was a big shame. Im sure these situations are one-off things and we just got unlucky, but its going to be really hard to convince ourselves to return.

I am glad I visited this theater. It is fairly close to my home and its clean. I like the fact that they have some arcades there which adds extra sweetness to the overall experience. The only thing I think would improve this theater more is if they had more than 2 ticket purchase stations because last time I went there one of their stations were out of order and people were in line for one ticket machine. No surround sound in theatre 8. When addressed with staff, the front sound was simply cranked up - leaving us to experience the powerful songs of The Lion King in poor quality, with the bass missing and the chorus much too high. After addressing this issue twice with staff during the film, and being told the manager was not on the floor, I returned to my theater after letting the staff know that the entire theatre deserved a refund for the poor quality of sound and lackluster experience. This is common practice for other theater chains, like AMC.Professional managers greet their guests at the door upon exiting when an issue occurs. This did not happen at Regal Fairfax Towne Center. I only received replacement tickets for my party after a frustrating discussion with the manager, who implied that my experience was not ruined because I sat through it.Missing a solid 10 minutes to bring the issue to your attention, when you should be doing theatre checks regularly? A problem. Sitting through the artists work diminished by poor quality? A problem. When the soundtrack sounds better in my car than their theater? Big problem.Make your voice heard if your experience is lackluster. It’s the only way theaters will rise to the occasion.(Note: I spent 4 years as a projectionist and know what to expect, I am not just someone who demands free stuff).

The sound was good. I also appreciated the matinee price, the reserved seating and the buy ahead ticketing option. I will definitely try this again. Love the seats and the amount of space between rows, allowing people to pass without much issue. Popcorn and drinks are pricey, as with almost all chains. The lobby feels a bit worn, and its a little concerning that its so easy to get in without much of a problem; when I went, a person could have easily walked in from the alternate entrance and into any of the individual theaters; both a business concern and a security issue.

Er
Review №73

I hate writing a bad review about a business, but as I sit awaiting my first movie here, I also know it will be my last. I happened upon other reviews that described the (alleged) mice and rat problem here, and from the look of the lobby its no wonder. Popcorn is all over the carpet - as if it hasnt been cleaned in months. The theater itself is clean, but tiny in comparison to other theaters. Theres a reason its called the big screen, but whoever designed this place didnt get that message. Unbelievably in this day and age, the theater floor is almost completely flat (no stadium seating). Thankfully my movie today is poorly attended; otherwise God help you if someone tall sat in front of you (just like watching a movie 30+ *years* ago). The restroom was somewhat clean, having an intense bleach odor and dim, run-down lighting. This theater charges almost the same money for a ticket as the Springfield Regal, but the differences are night and day. My recommendation to management is to get some competent staff to keep the place clean, and if rodents are truly an issue, get an exterminator in here ASAP. Fix the broken ticket kiosk another reviewer commented on (months ago). Get some staff to man the ticket booth instead of selling tickets at the concession stand. No one even was around to take my ticket! All together, this place has a super ghetto feel to it, which is an utter disgrace not just for a Regal theater, but for any theater in Fairfax county with its second highest median income level in the entire country. Get it together, management!

The theater itself is nice. They have the best reclining seats Ive seen in a theater so far. Unfortunately, the theater has a mice infestation. I was sitting in my reclining chair when I noticed 3 gray figures racing through the isles. Then they came back to the seat next to me and begin munching on popcorn that was laying in the floor. When you walk in you are underwhelmed. Its not to up to date modern cinemas like most others in the area. There in only one ticket machine and it is a real pain to use. It is slow and the touchscreen in inaccurate. The theaters are small so they fill up real quick, but once you sit down its pretty nice. The seats are comfortable and recline really far back. Compared to the ones at AMC they are a bit firmer. I wasnt a huge fan of the firmness but my brother really liked them. The sound proofing was not that great. The walls would rumble and the lamps would rattle from the movie next door, which got to be annoying. Again, my brother didnt even notice. They cant really change the theater size but they could at least get another machine. I enjoyed my experience enough but Im not excited to go back. We were only there in the first place because of their 7 dollar tickets.
