Lovely walk. The trees were dense and it really gave you a feeling of solitude that I enjoyed. The view is nice. Not a long walk but a great way to spend a morning. It was a good find during my visit to the area. The drawback was that every time I went, there were people in the parking lot. On one occasion, a very disoriented lady was sitting in her car with the engine on blocking the lot entrance. I suspect its a place for people to get high, which made me decide to walk elsewhere. Thats just kinda creepy when youre alone.
Eagle Slough provides a nice short hike close to town that provides wildlife viewing you would usually have to travel for. The gravel trail makes for easy walking. If you are quiet and look close it is full of wildlife. Ive observed everything from otters to bald eagles here. The only draw back to the slough is there are times of the year it is inaccessible due to the Ohio River flooding.
Its a beautiful wetlands i love walking the trial
I love how well the trail is cleaned up recently. I dislike the damage that some trail goers have caused. Recent events have not been good at showcasing a very nice trail system. Ex. Spray painted benches, broken signs marking trails. I enjoy the place itself as a top local spot to see wildlife through many seasons. Its also an easy stroll with a pleasant overlook at the end.
Great experience....nice easy walking path... heavily wooded....I was there early in the day .....humid...and.breakfast time for.the mosquitoes.
Great trails. Kids had a blast
It has been about 3 years since I visited Eagle Slough. But when I did I saw birds I had not seen except in books. It was a great stroll. Not exactly a hike. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to others.
Nice place to just walk. Havent really explored much to see if you can actually find a nice place to fish. It was pretty muddy on the little bridge going into the wood from where it flooded. You can tell there aint been no clean up crew or anything keeping up with the trails either. Nicely shaded and theres a cool old bridge that was Doug out they put a deck on. You can over look the what I would call swamp.
Dog park was clean and well maintained. Only visiting in the area but went here a few times
Lovely natural trail to take a quilk walk in nature.
Nature preserve. Very nice we saw lots of ducks and geese.
Love Audubon State Park.
This is a very short out and back walk, relaxing and fun for small children, with a nice lookout to a small lake at the end. The trail was pretty well kept and had many informative signs. Not a lot of space to park. Lots of mosquitoes and some stinging nettle and trash on the sides of the trail. We spotted many frogs, spiders, and other strange bugs, but not a lot of birds or other wildlife. This trail will be beautiful in the Fall, as it is almost completely shaded with high overhanging trees.
It would be 5 stars, but after the trek to the viewing area we found out the one observation deck was closed due to rotting wood on it. It would have been nice, if it was mentioned at the trail start. Nice easy walk, no idea about the observation deck on the trail to the NE. Informative of trees in area and the history of the interurban.
Great little gem! Took the dogs with us they had a blast! Its about a mile there and back if you go to the end!
Nice area to walk around. It is maybe a mile walk but it was pleasant.
Great spot
No signs staying is a wildlife area. Usually road closes with the river rising. A useful road to by pass Hwy41 has backups or a wreck.
This was a very natural area. I did not see any eagles. Mostly sloughs.
Beautiful!
Pretty cool
Not sure what that is?
