Great place for us as we took a break from the road. Friendly host/campground manager and friendly neighbors. Would stay again.
Burdette Park was a haven! The check-in was easy and Cathy was very kind and helpful! The camp ground has paved, level sites, water, good electric hookups, picnic tables, dump site, and a shower house. The mens and womens showers were VERY clean. We stayed for one night and it was peaceful. There is a small playground for smaller kids, a BMX bike track, paths to walk, and the swimming area. The swimming area was closed due to Covid (I think) but it is on my list to visit for when we come back. Also there is a Wal-Mart very close by if you need to restock anything. We really enjoyed this beautiful, peaceful stop and will be visiting again in the future!
Shelter house was nice. AC worked, ample tables, chairs, & counters. Not handicap friendly. We barely got my Mom in there w/ her walker. No access to water, not even by outside spigot. Bathrooms were so far away we had to load up Mom & her walker in the van & drive her to the bathroom. Then struggle to get her back up the steep hill into the shelter again. But the bathroom was clean, especially for a public park.
Love camping here! The couple that manage the campground are AMAZING!
Love the fishing. Amazing work keeping that place good.
Just a great place for any indoor or outdoor activities, buildings are clean and big plus swimming and fishing a fun place the family.
We spent a month here in our camper, and loved it: the bathroom/shower facilities were always well maintained, there is a beautiful 3 mile paved trail from the campground to the university that is great for exercise, our neighbors were long time residents and were very friendly, the playgrounds were plentiful(3 within a half mile walk), the laundry facilities were limited, but are relatively inexpensive and on the weekends they had BMX races that the kids loved to watch. The only draw back was the mosquitoes, ie bring bug repellent.
Great place to camp. Away from the hustle and bustle. Quiet Calm down to earth people.
Beautiful scenery, lovely ponds and foliage. Campgrounds are comfy and activities are nice
Stayed in RV Park,Cathy was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about area. Park is quiet and nice sites. Highly recommend staying here if in area !
Large well equipped park. Soccer fields, basketball and tennis courts. Large multipool swimming complex with kid play areas and slides both large and small. Burdette also has a bmx track as well as buildings ranging from from a giant timber Discory Lodges to multiroom chalets for rent.
Beautiful walk from USI to Burdette park. Perfect for dogs (bring your own poop bag though!) Completely paved with mile markers as well. Open from dawn to dusk. Not completely open at the moment...you can only walk the Burdette side, USI is keeping their side closed for now.
Love bringing my son here to play
Beautiful park. My favorite jogging place.
Shelters are a great price to hold events
Beautiful park, maintained bike and walking path, easy access and safe atmosphere.
The cabin was beautiful and roomy. The play because it was lots of room.
Enjoyed walking the dogs around the pond.
Well kept beautiful trees & wildlife
It is very peaceful and clean
Great vacation spot luxurious cabins to the die for. Huge conference Hall for any event. If you want to cool down dont forget about the awesome water. Overall the park is 100% amazing.
The challete were cool and i had a great time
What an amazingly beautiful facility this park is, with something for everyone. We visited the BMX track for the Gold Cup Finals. This was our first time. There is plenty of shade to get out of the sun. This is the only downhill BMX track in North America. The track is meticulously prepared, with 3 full paved banked corners and the remaining corners are hard packed dirt. The track is super smooth and incredibly technical. Technical meaning you have to really prepare for the huge fast rollers in the 3rd and 4th straight or you will go into orbit. We had an awesome time. The volunteers were all so hard working and the grounds were spotless. Cant wait to return!
Busy but lots to do and nicely maintained.
Looks like a nice place to take the family
Feed the ducks and drove around. Such a nice Park!
Perfect place for parties and different events.
Had my wedding reception here beautiful and spacious
We stayed at the RV parking area overnight. It was beautiful and our hosts, Kathy and Scott, were very kind. The park itself is huge with so many different areas to enjoy and to rent for parties or camping. Though we are from Niagara Falls, NY, we will definitely return.
Hickory Lodge is a wonderful place for a large family get together. However, the wooden floors are so highly polished that two people slipped and fell. While they look beautiful they are a bit risky. The only other issue is; why if no one else is in the place must you wait to be able to get in. Almost anyplace else will let you go early if its empty and been cleaned. A 2:00pm check in and a 10:00am check out seems a bit chintzy on time. Even the tightest hotels, etc. usually give you more than 20 hours to stay. The park itself is beautiful as always!
Always a beautiful place to go! The park is fun, the pool is awesome, always things to do out there. The bungalows are always nice for parties with some privacy. For your nicer occasions they have the larger cabins. The bike track is a great thing to try... The list is endless! Enjoy Burdette park anytime you can. Oh yeah, you can fish too.
We have been here for family reunions many times. It is a wonderful park. My Granddaughter got married here!
Best place in town for families to gather and kids to play
A great family day for all. Clean family-friendly and lots of fun! Bring chairs of your own because there is very few there to rent or use. Keep the cooler in the call are filled with ice. And then just step out and grab some drinks when needed. Food and drinks are very pricey. Love the location great for little ones as well.
Took some beautiful pictures at Burdette Park.
Fresh air, good pool
Nice place for a wedding reception.
Cabin we stayed in could use an update but we all still had a great time
Burdette is very pretty and well maintained. I love going swimming there on the hot summer days. The employees at the park are hit or miss, either they love their job and are good at what they do, or are kind of snobbish. The snack bar is higher priced, but overall, a pretty good place. The trails are very pretty and you see a lot of wildlife.
Beautiful family place
Cabin was great only thing was the bed was very uncomfortable
The Hickory Lodge was beautiful! It amazed me with 4 bathrooms & a large tub with water jets in the loft. Some of the light switches did not work & the main ceiling fan did not work & some of the blinds didnt close but nothing real major. It was a bit expensive for 1 night from 2 p.m. until 10 a.m. the next day but it was special
Great BMX park
Went to Burdette Park Aquatic Center on a Friday afternoon with my family. Aside from it being a little cold, we had a great time! If you go after 3 on a Friday, the cost for adults is only $5. The staff was super friendly, and the lifeguards seemed to really be paying attention while in the chair. Will definitely have to go back there sometime soon!
Stopped here to kill come time. Great park to spend a day.
This was a beautiful Park. We used an area that was air-conditioned but had playground areas for the kids outside. Too bad it was too hot for that. We did go over to the Aquatic area and it was filled with people which is great. We didnt get a chance to enjoy it this time.
Three Olympic size swimming pools; food vendor, keyed lockers (.25); inflatables and yard chairs can be rented. Camp ground, fishing pond, shelters and lodges of varying sizes. One lodge hall large enough to accommodate at least 500-600 people with tables and bathroom facilities.
Nice little spot for me to take my daughter. We fish and hit the playground at least once a week.
The bed was like laying on a concrete slab. I forgot my makeup bag and called to see about picking it up. I was told it was found but they werent sure where the lost and found person had put it. They said they would call me back. When they did they changed the story and said they didnt find it. Very confusing!!
Weve been coming to Burdette Park all of my lifetime. Family reunion celebrations, birthday parties, adult slumber parties at the chalets, baby showers etc. Always clean and safe for the even our youngest family members. Ample parking, access to clean water and decent toilet facilities (I always carry a roll of T.P. and paper towels when I come). Nice size pond for fishing and feeding the ducks.
Beautiful...love the lodge.
Loved the park and the RV area. We will definitely go back and spend more time there
A beautiful, beautiful Park complete with CCC Construction from the 1930s WPA project. A roller rink is one of my best memories there and they have an amazing pool with plenty of water slides. Shelter houses, a pavilion and fish in the pond. This is a great place for a picnic or family reunions.
Its a good park with a lot of amenities. What happened to the putt putt? That looked terrible.
I think it a fair cost for the amount of water park you get. It is $8 for adults and $6 for children. Kids has to be at least 42 inches to ride the water slides. The day we went a storm rolled through. They did an excellent job of getting everyone out of the pool. My 4 and 6 year old loved it. It has a huge area shallow enough for younger kids to play in and not worry about being a helicopter parent!
Best water slides around.
Great facility for all ages. However, we paid admission and 40 minutes later it began to storm. After looking at the radar we realized it was going to storm for hours. The staff at Burdette refused to give us a rain pass to come back. Their policy is that they do not close, but no one is allowed to swim for 45 minutes after the last lightening strike. Therefore they would not issue a rain pass because we could technically enjoy the covering of the concession stand until they closed at 6pm. I am so disappointed.
Hiking and swimming and private cabins. Love going here.
This place is great.. Family fun at its finest!!
My daughter is getting married we had the rehearsal there a cabin 18 it was really nice and spacious and that is the bride the groom
The cabins r freaking huge and worth the money
We were not impressed with the campground. You couldnt even have a bonfire. Our lot was all mud, all pull thru lots, and we just want very pleased. Regardless of the aquatic center.
Burdette has a wonderful pool for small children. Its large enough that it never seems crowded even on busy days. My five year old loves the splash park as well.
First visit early spring late winter.
Beautiful Primitive Camping area, Great Sim Park
The discovery lodge is a beautiful place to have a wedding our any event !
Only had time to drive through on off season and looks great. Tons of fun from large pool and slides to camping and BMX track. looking to check this place out in summer.
Went with my cousins and they loved the swimming pool. But she got toned at broadway and I think red bank
Nice clean park. Has shelter houses u can rent and cabins. Has a nice pool.
Burdette Park offers a wide variety of activities for anyone visiting. From the swimming pool, walking trails, BMX bike track, rental cabins, to the beautiful lake, Burdette offers a lot of entertainment options for both the young and old. The park is located on the west side of Evansville. Just a short drive from the Lloyd Expressway.
One of the best public parks in town! Sad to see they let some of the place go.. I miss putt putt.
Not a lot has changed at Burdette Park in the last 20 years... and thats a good thing! Nice park!
Great place
Nice for my 4 1/2 yr old grandson. And I enjoyed the kiddie pool....spacious and well run
Husband and I camped there for a week in May this year. The campground was very disappointing. Rundown, old rundown campers, a little seedy looking. We never felt we were unsafe there, but I wasn’t out taking walks after sunset either. I think Burdette Park management needs to realize that the campground reflects on the park. And that reflection is NOT beautiful like the rest of Burdette Park.
Very nice and enjoyable water fun
Great, clean pool. It has a lot to offer everyone. I like that there are 2 concession stands but I wish they would also have a second bathroom. The only one is at the entrance. It has stalls, showers, dressing area, etc... if they put one by the kiddie pool it would just need to be a bathroom. I plan on returning.
Swimming was great! Very Clean! The food, well I dont recommend eating if at all possible
Great way to cool off on hot summer days!
Perfect place to spend time with the whole family all summer long
Rented the clubhouse. The shelters are great places to have large private parties.
Beautiful trails
Peaceful, wooded, nice walking trail.
My kids favorite place to swim on a hot summer day

Cabins are very clean and they provide bathroom items and kitchen items, the pool is cheap and very fun.Lots of nature round for pictures and hikes. Definitely great for a family or friends trip!
It was empty due to this pandemic
Great walking areas!
Close to Campus. Nice walking trail to Campus.
The pool’s and water slides here are awesome. Fantastic for kids. Huge kid play area with life guards literally everywhere. Two snack locations that could really put this place on the map but fail to deliver. Still the best place in Evansville to beat the heat though.
Love the pool and slides. I also got married in one of the chalets, and it was beautiful
Beautiful park with plenty to offer. Enjoyed the kids upside down house up by the fishing ponds
