Its a nice beach to spend time. The climate is simply superb. Nice place spend time with family and friends

Shades Beach has been renovated and looks amazing. One side of the beach has a sandy beach with plenty of room for swimming, laying out and having fun with your friends and family. The other side has boat ramps and docks for loading and unloading your boats. Also, you can have fun with your Jet Skis here as well. Easy access for everything. Plus the Park up by the parking lot has Pavilions and playgrounds with plenty of space. I highly recommend not passing up on this awesome spot on Lake Erie in Harborcreek, Pennsylvania.

My lil boy had a blast on the parks playground.... It was beautiful and well kept.... Very clean! & theres a beautiful sceneic are to go hiking up near the cliffs @ the lake as well

The playground area is great for kids to burn a lot of energy and theyll have a blast doing it. The shore lines boat launches are a well added benefit but walking out the tiny peninsula is a wonderful time. The area offers some very amazing views.

Why do I love this place? Because I got engaged here! It was a lovely beach. Beautiful landscape and it was pretty tucked away which meant there was little traffic.

The park and the playground are always nice. There are some nice trails here, too... especially up at the scenic overlook. The beach is not always clean and sometimes has a lot of dead fish. The boat launch area is very nice. We always enjoy our visits!

This beach is small and sweet. Timeless feel and really beautiful driftwood arranged like art among the sand. Perfect to watch a sunset from or stop for a summer stroll whilst on route 5.

Shades is a nice beach but you have to park and walk. and there is a big hill so if you cant walk far then this is probably not the beach for you. There is a boat ramp to put boats in, and it always draws a busy crowd on weekends.

Though the beach is vary small but its Good place to sit and play for kids with lovely view

Beautiful views of the lake. Not safe to swim, but can bring your boat.

Great park! Make sure you check out the trail up the little bluff on the back half of the beach, the view up top is awesome. Playground and pavillions are great for kids, too.

Had not been there in years, pleasantly surprised by all the improvements. Hill to the beach seems much steeper than when I was a kid.

Water is shallow enough for small kids but gets deeper for the more experienced swimmer.

They need better parking for the beach and a walk path going up to the main parking area. Park is great for children and very adequate facilities for throwing parties.

Not dog friendly but a cute local beach and huge picnic area. Great if you dont want to go all the way to the west side or battle the crowds at the Peninsula.

Love the place. Waitresses awesome. You cant beat the scenery down by the bay. Food was good.

Love the sunsets here! They are wide open and very scenic! The beach has a very large area to walk with all kinds of backgrounds for pictures! A playground, a picnic area, restrooms and even grills!

We accessed the beach from the boat launch. Private and quiet in September. Picnic area with pavilions and playground for children, although no view from the beach in that area.

Signs say you arent supposed to swim here and there is a lot of debris around. Pretty, and theres a boat launch, but not a place to spend the day at the beach

First time there went to a large party there it was roomy and clean play ground for kids a short walk or drive to Lake Erie.

I was surprised at how nice it was. Bigger Beach area than I thought and a very nice park with Pavilions and playgrounds for the kids.

It was a nice place but the algae in the water was bad and the water was gross and smelled really bad but im sure that its not like that all the time but we probably just came at the wrong time. The park itself was nice and kept up well and a large park for kids as well as trails and paths leading to an overlook of the lake.

The beach has a lot of rocks in the sand, but the sunsets are good.

The beach was full of dead fish and even a small dog or some other animal. Litter and trash everywhere. The smell was sickening. It is a beach I get it.

A couple of large pavilions available for reservations. As well as some public picnic tables. You can go for a scenic walk on the beach or play in the childrens playground. It really is a great place to have a reunion, event, or picnic.

My cousin and I like to go down to the lake at the Shades Beach access to walk and look for beach glass. Its so peaceful and serene, all our troubles disappear.
