This is such a fun activity for a weekend adventure. Ive been on it twice and both times I was just as impressed with the mechanics of the tramway and enthralled with the views at the top. The ascent is around 900ft with the gondola moving at a speed of, I believe, 9mph so its nothing extreme. This is definitely a must if you have visitors from out of town. Just, overall, a lot of fun.

First time doing anything aerial and my husband and I loved it. The park rangers were very informative and knowledge. Great view of the mountain ranges and cities. On the website it suggested that you call before arriving due to weather conditions, please call ahead. A must do if youre in the area.

Great place in El Paso Texas... You will love this experience! Once you are taken up the mountain, you have the option of staying and doing some sightseeing...or if you are up to it!... an awesome hike! They have access to a trail way above the desert sky... Its beautiful up here. We went early since it takes about 10-15 mins to load everyone in and take them up in groups of 6-8 depending. You could have a small picnic since the wind up there does not really allow for a full picnic. The trip up is pretty awesome! My daughter was a little scared but once we got up there, she absolutely loved it! Oh and take some money, they have a gift shop at the top. I cant believe that I grew up in El Paso and I never visited this park before. Parking is free but limited. Restrooms are clean. You do have the option to just hike for the day and I believe that its free. You can see all of El Paso, parts of New Mexico and Juarez!

A must for native El Pasoans or those new to the area. Gives great views of nearly the entire city, Mexico, and New Mexico without the need for hiking (unless you want to). Theres plenty of space on the viewing platform; I never had to fight for viewing space. Unfortunately, the gondolas lack any kind of air conditioning, so expect the four-minute ride to be stuffy. Theres no running water at the top either (but there is a bathroom) so bring plenty of bottled water unless you want to purchase some at the gift shop.

Great and cheap way to get to see all of El Paso and beyond. 360° view at the top with maps that point out all the different landmarks. We went on a Saturday evening and no one was there, but we were told it does get insanely crowded when deployments are about to head out from Fort Bliss and families are visiting.

Beautiful! I live in KC and every time I go to El Paso, this place was always closed! It was either due to rain or snow. However, this was a wonderful experience going up the mountain on the tram. The Park Ranger was very informative and made it a pleasant ride. We went on a sunny winter day and it was way colder up on the mountain. There’s hiking trails, awesome scenic views overlooking all of El Paso and Juarez, Mx. Must see if you’re in El Paso!

Great views....a little chilly but it is December and we went at 5pm..... Due to it being the holiday season it was a long wait.... Only 8 people per gondola and there are only 2.... The fee is reasonable $8 per adult and $4 per child. Make sure you take some warm clothes though..... They stop selling tickets at 7 and they are only open on the weekend.... Had a blast with the grandbaby though even though she was scared most of the ride up. LOL Make sure you get some quarters before you go up so you can use the telescopes.... Good fun!!!!

Must do in El Paso, easily the best view of the city (as well as Mexico and NM). The park rangers were very knowledgeable and had a lot of good information. There is also hiking available at the top, but you must purchase that separately. I definitely recommend going early; lines can be up to an hour and if the parking lot fills up then you’re out of luck. In the winter months it gets dark early enough to see the sunset before it closes.

You can easily see across the border into Mexico on a clear day. A unique look over El Paso.

A lifelong favorite for a family excursion on a beautiful day, this fun and historical outing takes your breath away by following a lovely little trip through a secluded hillside with a roomy, panoramic suspended gondola ride up the mountainside to the radio towers above, complete with gift shop, plenty of walking platforms and benches, and of course, the majestic yet tranquil scenes of three states and two nations from over a mile up. As a native El Pasoan, Im always happy to visit this gem of an attraction at our mountain state park.

If you are passing through El Paso over the weekend or stationed at Fort Bliss, I highly recommend you take the tramway at least once. The operator in the tram was very knowledgeable and friendly, the ride up is very fun and informative, and when you get to the top, it is a great view of El Paso, Juarez, and New Mexico. I recommend taking the tram up and hiking down the trail if you have the time. If not, or you have family or friends visiting, take them round trip on the tramway, it is worth it. The only downsides are that they are only open on the weekends and the price is a little more than you would expect, but worth going at least once nonetheless.

Rangers are nice and the park is well kept.Parking is good with lots of spits but the drive to the tramway is really steep. Cars in poor shape might want to avoid. One car overheated the auto trans on the way up.The Rangers + Directissimo trail was more difficult than I thought it would be. I am not experienced in rocky trails and it took a while to see the trail without trying. If I do it again I will wear gloves (hot rocks) and bring more water. And two poles instead of a walking stick.

The Wyler Aerial Tramway is the only tramway in Texas and its REALLY special because from the top, you can see Cuidad Juarez, Mexico, El Paso, TX, and portions of New Mexico. The ride ticket is very reasonable and the way up is fairly short. If you feel like exploring the outdoors, theres also a walking trail you can take to the top, then ride the tram down. The cabins are sturdy and modern, not rickety at all. Once at the top, you can walk around the platform and really enjoy the view.I highly suggest that you double check the operating hours and also call before you go, so that you can ensure that the tram is open.
