Truly a gem of El Paso and the state of Texas, the Ysleta Mission is the oldest mission in the state of Texas and an icon to Spaniards and the Native Americans where their cultures came together. The Ysleta Mission is a beautiful Catholic Church that has stood the test of time and is a must see along the Mission Trail. I also received my First Communion in this Church many years ago and it will forever be a special place to me.
Historical very well-kept the attended is very knowledgeable very nice gift shop I would recommend go visit
This year fungi mungle was the closing act for the Missions Bazaar. They rocked. All ages got into the music. Hope theyll be regulars at the bazaars. My God mothers a groupie. Lol. Really enjoyed her and my mom getting into the show. A true memory to treasure. I know they couldnt here her but my nina kept screaming Jungle Boogie!! The gentleman behind us was really thrilled to sing along.
What a beautiful place. Great vibe. And they have a mission market once a month that has amazing vendors!
Pretty mission in good condition.
Beautiful Mission. People were showing their love and connection to Mt. Carmel Church.
The mission is beautiful beyond words. Also every first Sunday of the month they have a market. From 8am-2pm. The gift shop is pretty amazing also. #marketatthemission
Very pretty old church. Not too much to see inside. Lots of old history but the church itself had burnt down many times. I was able to park the church itself. Should not take too long to see it. Was in sort of a isolated community a little bit away from downtown.
This is the oldest of three historic missions on the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, the ancient highway from Mexico City up through Santa Fe. A funeral was underway when I arrived. So, I did not go in. However, this will be worth a return visit when I have time. Its beautiful as are the other missions.
During the COVID-19 pandemic in the rain we were the only ones here!
Loved this little store. Nice items for sale. Bought an antique baby Jesus at a reasonable, price. Will cherish it always.Friendly sales ladies.
Come worship the Lord in this historical church which has served it community for many years. Or just come discover its historical importance. All are welcomed!
Attended my Cousins Quincenerria! Its a pretty nice Old Church! Liked the Priest! Seating was very uncomfortable! Other then that the Ceremony was very nice!

A historic, nostalgic and spiritual experience all at once.
Free parking is available. The gift shop worker was very polite and informative. Photography is allowed inside.

Excellent vintage church that was built by the Spanish in 1682 in an effort to colonize that part of Texas and to convert the indigenous (Commanche, Chiricahua Apache & Tigua Tiwa) people in the area to christianity. Very beautiful and historic church. Hard wood floors, wooden benches. Beautiful place to worship and there is a casino near by with games and alcohol. All Praise be to Christ Jesus.
Present for the Funeral of renowed El Paso Civil Rights Attorney, Enrique Moreno, a victim of cancer at age 63.
I love the Old Ysleta Mission. I havent been to one in such a long time but I will be going more often.
I love it but people should respect the ground where the church is like dont smoke near the church wait till you get out of the parking
