This is a cool spot to hike to in the northern mountain self-guided area of Hueco Tanks. Its a moderately challenging area to get to, partly because the provided directions arent the easiest to follow (and I have a feeling that may be by design). Its a 20-30 minute walk to the cave, with plenty of steep trail, but very minor climbing required. By climbing, I mean one spot where you need to get down on all fours for balance; no actual rock/mountain climbing required.

The cave itself gets 5 stars. The map to get there takes away stars. It took a lot of searching to.find the cave itself, but it was so worth the time. Overall, we enjoyed the self guided portion of the park, and had a great picnic.

Cave Kiva in Hueco Tanks is an awesome spot to visit. Tucked under a boulder and only accessible by shimmying through a crack in the rock, this cave is home to 8 Jornada Mogollon masks/face images that date around 1,000 years old.You will need to check out the free map at the HQ in order to find this location.

This is a place where you hike you have heels to go up steps to go down caves to go in. The trail could get rough for a wheelchair.
