Definitely NOT what it used to be, but the trails are cool for walking/jogging. Tennis courts are better now that the city let folks know not to play futbol there anymore. The unkept (what used to be) baseball fields are a reminder of a Durham long past...sad.

Love this Park, always so quite here, a great place to come and mediate and reflect on decisions in your life and just go through some deep thoughts. A great place to take long walks with a friend or even have a quite picnic. This is a rare gem in Durham county. Really love this place!!!

Park is great for what it is baseball field and tennis courts are open, even some of the outdoor bathrooms are now open -even during COVID-19 phase 2 for NC. Connects through to the trails that lead to The County Stadium, Duke Regional, the swimming pool, and the Life & Science museum. Also this allows you to pick up the trail that follows Ellerbee Creek and eventually can be taken under 85 and further into Durham. Quite a nice gem for the neighborhoods nearby.

Full disclosure, I am only reviewing this park with regards to its tennis court facilities. The lighting is sub-par and fixtures are not placed evenly to illuminate the courts evenly (not to mention, they are not using LED fixtures which provide an even distribution of lighting). The courts are not maintained and have discolorations and cracks indicating that it has been at least several years since they were last resurfaced. To put it kindly, I will only play at this facility if my USTA-sanctioned match is held here.

It would be nice if there were available bathrooms. It makes a good place to fly drones as long as you dont fly over the nearby National Guard armory or traffic. Huge open field!

A dog friendly park with wide open areas suitable for soccer and wooded walk to the Science Center and Vietnam Memorial. There are tennis courts and restrooms. A quite stream with a pedestrian bridge next to the NG Amory makes for a cool spot.

Great large field for soccer or pets, but not much else at this park. They have some nice trails and tennis courts, but no playground (I think) and very little shade off the trails.

Rock Quarry Park offers a variety of recreational amenities including eight tennis courts, a large athletic field large enough to host two soccer games and a path allowing for a walk. There are also restrooms adjacent to the field.I often visit this park to take my three dogs on a walk on the paved bike path, which connects to the Edison Johnson Aquatics Center. There is also a Vietnam Memorial along the path. Be sure to explore the dirt walking paths; my dogs absolutely love exploring them! The only downsides is that there are serious problems with parking lot, with large chunks asphalt protruding up. The field also does not drain well after a hard rain and can be very swampy in spots.
