Went here for the fireworks. It rained a bit earlier and the umbrellas came in handy. Great viewing point.

This is the heart of Detroit by the spirit of Detroit statue. Theres free Wi-Fi, a giant swing and a area where you can play music. There are also charging station for your cell phone.

Detroit is still the best city in America

In the Summer, this place is the BEST place to go all throughout the work week! You can see live bands for free! They also have food & clothes vendors! Oh & the sightseeing in this area is amazing! There are lots of places to take beautiful historical photos that represents our great city of Detroit!

It was nice to see the changes and new things, businesses & restaurants downtown.

A great place to hang out and chill. They have some fun festivals and such here. There are places to sit and swing. Only thing to remember is that the Spirit of Detroit statue is popular with tourists, so be ready to wait to take your photo.

This plaza is okay - it used to be a road connecting to Jefferson, and has been transitioned into a make shift plaza. I would love to see it permanently become something with more greenery and grass, rather than a hardscape like so much of Detroit is. It is a nice area for food trucks and sitting outside during lunch.

This statue has been a beacon for Detroit ever since I was little. Located in the heart of Downtown Detroit, the Spirit of Detroit is a must visit icon!

The statue of the Spirit of Detroit in this little plaza is just great. Great Art Deco statue. Loved it. Well worth a look see.

Under construction. Still had a nice time. Plenty of seats. The umbrellas table came in handy because of a quick shower.

Beautiful downtown area, just park your car, walk and enjoy.

Something to see in every direction

I’m from the suburbs but moved out of state in 2002. I haven’t been to the city since. I must say I’m so impressed by the positive changes! I felt totally safe spending the day there with my kids.

Great idea to cut the street off. Love the picnic tables and chairs.

The Plaze was very pleasant and insightful, people were taking pictures and communicating just having a great time.

This public space provides a convenient area for all activities, including public activism. Modeled after similar plazas in NYC, it also helps make it easier for pedestrians to cross Jefferson and access the Joe Louis Memorial fist.

We made this a stop for our Detroit rolling pub crew. Having 2 bikes full of folks we had to make this stop to get a crew picture!
