Detroits old historical train station. Now the new Auto Headquarters for Ford Motor Company. Roosevelt Park in Southwest Detroit. We Never Stop The Fight Until The Thick Lady Sings!!
Stopped here to eat lunch on a beautiful day.
I grew up not far from Roosevelt Park its fantastic the train station was restored and put to good use..Detroit is moving up to some good things these days..
Lots of history here. Nice open space. Im interested to see what Ford will do with the place once theyve restored the train station.
It is a lovely, green space
Love this historic treasure. Thanks to the First family for restoring.
Did the Tour de Troit from here. It was a awesome ride!
This is one of Detroits most iconic buliding. It is absolutely beautiful. Im glad to see the Ford is gonna bring it back
After my Mercury burger bar experience, my love and I decided to rent scooty bikes as I call them which are really SPIN by GM and went for a ride in the neighborhoods. You just hook your credit or debit card up to the bike and go and so we went. We took pics and checked out the old train station. We ventured into Mexican Town and back to the park. It was a wonderful experience with my love and not to mention we had full bellies!! Win win in my book
This is one of Detroits best urban parks. Great to sit and enjoy lunch or bring a friend & toss a frisbee. The MCS is a nice backdrop too.
Loved these historical site; glad the Ford family pick up these spot; oh WOW another historical site; being revitalize for great future and upcoming events and star attractions loved the Detroit come back story;cant forget about the Mayor Mike Duggan a great man and the city county members to
Great seeing the station come back. Maybe they can host New Years Eve there. Have a projected ball drop outside for free and have a party inside for paid guests. It would be great for Detroit morale.
Very highly recommended if you like bike riding. An amazing mini vacation awaits with great memories and souvenir t-shirt. Book and go, you will enjoy!
Beautiful open green spaces. Strange traffic flow and one-way streets near Michigan Avenue and 14th St.
Omgoodness totally LOVED the light show they did. My boyfriend and I toughed out that cold weather to enjoy the Detroit old train station!! We both have loved that building for years!!
Nice area in center of a city being reborn and with tge train station right there its nice to be in the presence of such rich history
Love seeing this place come back to life
Upswing. This place will only get better. Long an overnight stay for drunks and the homeless, it is a wonderful place for events and for those of us without addiction issues also. In fact, the more often you go and the more often you use it the better and better it will get.
The Ford light display was great. Warming tent, free marshmallow roasting and many great photo opportunities.
Safe place to do my walking exercise
Too many peoples hang out there. Sometimes it seems like youd be afraid to walk around Roosevelt Park.
Pretty decent spot, this place is on a grand scale, and takes you back to a time when this place was the powerhouse
With the iconic train station looming behind, the Mercury bar, Gold Cash Gold and other hip restaurants and bars nearby, Roosevelt Park is a wonderful place to have events or attend events. Not much in way of park like items (no picnic tables or playground items) so not something you would take family to to hang out for an afternoon. Great spot to read a book in the sun and then maybe pick up a drink at the Mercury Bar.
Setting up for Corktown race. Roosevelt park was cold and windy and a bit neglected. Hope the new ownership of the Central Train Depot (Ford Motor Company) can restore Roosevelt Park to its past glory.
Loved it...The winter Fest that Ford put on was awesome...Loved that they had smores you could make on the fire...The Ford video was great....
Ford Motor Co. Winter Festival at the old Train Station and it was a nice show
It is a place for events, like parades. The building of the historical train station is not functioning as a station, but in a mode of restoration. The sidewalks have signs of wear.
Went down for work on the Lazybones food truck the event happening was the winter festival was really cool
The wingout festival was ok.
Its a beautiful park overlooking a rustic yet slowly reviving neighborhood.
I love Detroit, great view here of soon to be restored Michigan Central Train Depot
Great park. The historic Detroit Train station in the background. Freat memories of this park.
Karen and Diane are the most loving people Ive ever met in my life my name is Larry And they all know me
Roosevelt Park is looking up everyday its always something different happened down there in Detroit
To go clear your head and nice to meet friends
Its okay. Signage and walk ways need to be updated.
Nothing much there to call it a park except some shelters.. overlooked by the majestic railway station..
Had a great time feeding the homeless with ARK association
A nice park with the looming presence of the Train Station. This area is absolutely drenched in potential. Im excited to see what it can become.
Cool place...near old train station
Just drive thru the area bc I live n the area. Traffic is usually heavy.
It was a good place to help the homeless.
Enjoyed the winter fest near the train station
Very peaceful park!
Nice park compared to the old days!
One of my favorite places in detroit
Rip donnie ison
Renaissance in Effect
Roosevelt Park is looking better than ever for the last 5 Years of its takeover and thats the reason why they got a five-star rating for me Mr Neal
Wonderful Angels doing the work/volunteering feeding Gods children of which Im thankful and honored to be a part of.
Great view of the Michigan Central Station. Well kept park. plenty of grass to sit and enjoy lunch, grab food in Corktown (about a block away) and Sit in the park and enjoy!
I love this park but I dont think it gets the attention it deserves because Its no secret the real attraction here is the infamous train station that is either loved or hated. Generally speaking there is no in between when it comes to the opinions of the locals. Regardless of were you stand on the matter, you have probably fallen victim yourself to its unquestionable ability to draw people in closer and thats why this is the perfect spot for an amazing park but the sad part is it doesnt feel much like a park not unless there is some big event going on here. I would love to see the City do here what its done with the Riverfront property and the Dequindre cut and transform it into a place where everyone can come together and unify as a community safely and have fun together. Why not just capitalize on the fact it does draw in visitors to the city and whether we like it or not or think its an eye sore people still want to see it and be a part of it might, so why not spin that in the citys advantage? I feel Michigan Ave. should definitely be next on the list to get restored after Woodward & the M1rail is completed.
Another Successful Corktown Criterium in the books!! Great job by all the cyclists!! Great race!
Great display at the Winter Festival!
Underused & unimagined. Such a large and grand building/space, there are a lot of possibilities. Its crazy to think that many people used to live in Detroit to need a school that large.
Excellent place to stay
Easy access to all Detroit roads
Still being renovated.
Historic architectural design...lost and abandoned.
Cold but fun
Impressive view of one of Detroits most iconic skeletons. Apparently, something is being done inside. No visible progress in the last half decade.
The more people help the more your heart feels good.
Clean OPEN QUIET
Roosevelt Park has been in the neighborhood since the early twenties a wonderful venue 4 drop in entertainment and festivals
Good food they give it away, every Saturday at 2pm
Roosevelt Park is an iconic urban park in Detroit, Michigan. With the Michigan Central Station as a backdrop, it is a quintessential place to visit and have photos taken - visit on a random Saturday between 4 and 6 pm and see throngs of newlyweds and their wedding parties posing. It is also the gateway to different communities, with Southwest and Corktown converging at this spot. Unfortunately, it is poorly designed - you may not even recognize Roosevelt Park as a Park, because there is literally a highway, Vernor Highway bisecting the green space. The highway is 4 lanes wide in each direction, and there are often cars parked at the side of these large roads. It makes for a very un-park like experience as people use this park more as a parking lot than as a typical park. Hopefully, the City of Detroit and some interested neighbors can band together to transform this oft-neglected park into a beautiful asset to the community.
Love this area.
Attended the Tour de Troit event.
Just went to run a race .
Awesome old abandoned train station!
Most beautiful historical edifice in Detroit!
Come listen to great live music at Crash Detroit!
