Shame on DSO for continuing to bill my mother for an annual subscription after being notified she died. Having removed all credit card info from her online account, DSO billed her credit card not once but two times!!! Even with multiple efforts by me to contact the DSO via phone, US Mail and email they are absolutely non-responsive and non-cooperative in resolving this matter. Always supported the DSO but this is unconscionable.
The Detroit Symphony Hall is simply fabulous! The acoustics are spot on and the orchestra players are amazing performers. The atmosphere was quite festive and Santa himself made a appearance! The Holiday show also featured two high school choirs and a lovely and gifted female singer to add to the festivities. All-in-all, quite a festive time for all in the lovely hall (which is celebrating its centennial this year by the way!). I cant wait to attend my next performance!
I came here on a weeknight evening for the first time. The Detroit Symphony Orchestra was brilliant! The Hall was smaller than I expected but very elegant and clean nonetheless. We sat in the back of the main floor and could see the orchestra very well - from the looks of it, I think every seat has an excellent view. The acoustics of the hall were great as well. It is definitely worth a trip and I will be back for sure!
This is one of the most acoustically perfect designed venues in the world. Detroit is privileged to have this world class stage When you walk in the atrium is fantastic. Then you walk towards your seat, deep breath, you see the this unbelievable, living art work. You know that you are In for a world class experience. I take my children every chance I can. You should too.
You must go see! I have never experienced a movie with the music of the movie being played live and you just never realize how much the music wraps you into the movie. It literally is the thing that elicits the emotions in a person during a movie. Joy, excitement, sadness, anger, fear...all wrap around neurons in the music. And the Detroit Symphony Orchestra is Absolutely a Detroit Treasure! I will be looking for a lifetime support package!
Amazing, as usual! So easy to park right in the garage and walk next door to the hall. The most beautiful venue around to enjoy a performance. And the volunteers are so kind and helpful. Celebrating 100 years and hope it is there for another 100 years
Wonderful entertainment venue! Great and flexible facility. Auditorium has excellent seating and great acoustics.
Among the finest acoustics in the world. Everyone is always friendly. We inevitably visit gift shop and almost always wind up buying something. Home of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, a Detroit jewel!
Not sure what I was expecting but the overall experience was better than I had expected. I sat in one of the last rows on the main floor and still had a great view of the stage. The Orchestra did an amazing job and the the music sounded great in the hall. I will forsure be visiting DSO again
Such a gem to have in our city. The acoustics and sight lines are excellent. Easy to get to and find parking! Highly recommend a visit if you have never been.
This is a great place to listen to the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Orchestra Hall is a beautiful theater with great acoustics.
I adore the DSO! I saw musical heros with my girlfriend and it was fantastic. Ill definitely be returning! I may get an annual membership too!
Magnificent venue. Paganini violin con#1 performed with gusto by Henderlich was fireworks on a rainy icy late winters day. Bravo Herr H and to the new Conductor!!!
First time and I loved it. My sister and I had a wonderful time. Cant wait to go again.
Great place for family entertainment. The theater is beautiful with nice acustics. It makes for a very classy date night too.
The concert was amazing. But this is such an iconic Detroit Cultural space, it is worth marking for a visit. Easy to do with DSO programming. Beautiful, sounds good. Crowd management (flow in and out) is always good.
Went to our second performance today at Orchestra Hall to hear the DSO. Second time was just as mesmerizing as the first. Not only does the DSO have very talented musicians but the acoustics of the venue blow me away. Having been to many venues throughout the world, I have to rate this one at the top of the list. Do yourself a favor and make it a point to not miss a performance at this gem of a find.
Orchestra Hall is a beautiful place to enjoy an afternoon or evening. We saw the vinyl years program, it was outstanding. We were dancing and singing in our seats.
Great evening out with people you love. The orchestra behind any special venue adds a dramatic enhancement to your favorite songs.
You just cant beat that signature DSO sound! Ive loved coming here for years, whether its a casual night in the cube, or a big date at orchestra hall, its always a great time.Tonight we got to see the premier of Black Bottom for the 19th annual classical roots concert. The DSOs ongoing commitment to presenting new and relevant material is to be admired.
Great place to enjoy music and company.
My husband and myself throughly enjoyed the POPS From Broadway to Hollywood Production!! AWESOME!!Amazing talented vocalists and the Conductor Robert Bernhardt incredible!!
My performance there was blessed. Truly a beautiful place with beautiful people. Much love Detroit
One of the absolute best venues for live music in the Detroit Area. The orchestra is phenomenal and they have amazing shows year around.
A beautiful historic building. Every seat offers the best sound for any and every show.
I get to play with the DSO for the honors band with my friend Im having so much fun and am going to meet so many awesome people!!!!!!! I also get to play awesome music with the DSOand it going to be do much fun.
Acoustically, its excellent and the place is actually nice but the seats dont have much leg room. My knees were literally hitting the back of the seat in front of me and Im only 56. Its a bit uncomfortable sitting there for a 2 hour show.
Very nice, friendly staff. Seats are a bit tight..felt a little on top of each other. Music was great!
It was REFRESHING!!! The DSO played in a way I will not soon forget. The tribute was to Motown and the singers were CRISP in both voice and attire. The conductor was charismatic, while Orchestrating the well synced group! I will definitely be returning for more!
Awesome experience! Went here to see the DSO perform the music to Home Alone while the movie played in the back round.
John Williams special event was wonderful! The conductor made the evening even more memorable!
Beautifully restored historical venue and the world-class DSO. What could be a better combination!
There for Whitney Houston Tribute concert! Beautiful theatre. Amazing sound quality & of course the Detroit Symphony Orchestra was spectacular. Lines not too long for drinks & snacks.
Gorgeous music by a world class orchestra! Friendly and helpful ushers! More affordable than expected.
Very nice place to see live music. Staff members are always helpful.
Loved the Vinyl performance...on Friday Nighta Fantastic Tribute to Musicians of the 70s and 80s....an Amazing Walk down Memory Lane
I love going to see the shows at this place! Recently, I attended the Big 80s concert at the DSO and it was awesome! The atmosphere, the ambiance, and the excitement from the crowd and the players were electrifying! It was cool to rock and move along with everyone else and sing songs from the greatest decade of music, the 80s! My only disappointment was that I paid for 3 hours but it only lasted two. I forgot that I was told that concert times were subject to change! Overall, I had the time of my life and Im hoping, wishing, and praying that they do a Part 2 of the Big 80s. Thats how much fun I had!
It was a Joy to attend Beethovens 6th here. Its nice to find there are a few civilized havens left.
Terrible experience with the parking lot after the concert almost made it not worth the effort. We do love the dso and wish they could fix this.
This place is spectacular in every way. And this particular Queens of Soul concert was 100% delightful! I always love going to a DSO concert.
It’s honestly one of the nicest concert halls Ive been to. The design is really sleek and just overall aesthetically pleasing. The any seat inside would sound great acoustically (personally the balcony seats are amazing) and obviously the music is amazing with great sound!
Stuart Chafetz the guest conductor was amazing. I would recommend this show and any he conducts!!
Love Orchestra Hall and DSO. My visit was for a jazz concert, but have been here many times for orchestra and other events. The acoustics are excellent and even at the highest point in the balcony there are no bad seats. The ushers and volunteers are very helpful and the parking is easy and convenient. Ive never had a bad time at Orchestra Hall.
Awesome venue! Everyone in here is so helpful and friendly!
This is the most amazing place in the city. Ill always give it 5 stars!!
Perfect. Orchestra Hall is acoustically perfect, but it is also perfect in so many other ways too. The atmosphere, the architecture, the performances of the DSO, and more. For example, I recently had dinner at the Paradise Lounge inside Orchestra Hall and I am not sure how long it has been around but it was new to me and very nice. I also like the drink options and the freedom to bring them into the show with you.
Wonderful acoustics! A really nice place to visit while in Detroit metro area!
My new employer! Fantastic!
Great place to go to a concert and ferry some culture. Turns out it was built in six months and a day.
Great place for a concert easy to get to
Queens of so was extraordinary! The performers did a magnificent job of capturing the heart and soul of every song.
The DSO has the best sounds no matter where you sit. Always a friendly atmosphere with excellent performances.
We love orchestra hall, the DSO and the educational programs available.
Acoustics and facilities great. World class orchestra!
Acoustics wonderful. The orchestra was phenomenal.
Very nice. Polite and friendly staff
My first time there was to see the extremely talented Jason Alexander in concert with the DSO. It was an amazing experience, and I was able to meet and have a picture taken with Jason Alexander after the show.
One of the best concert venues in the world, hands down. A glorious home for a glorious orchestra. A must see if you’re ever in Detroit!
What a great opportunity to hear a phenomenal performance. Love this venue!
Beautiful building, great show. Very unexpected but enjoyable experience.
DSO Friday Morning POPS Coffee and Donuts Concert are great! Concert over at 12:30pm just in time for lunch! Try The Block.
Amazing acoustics, best gathering spot for musicans and education and with always giving legends to musical teaming in USA for kids of all backgrounds.
Beautiful, well-restored 1919 building with outstanding acoustics and a fantastic orchestra!
A wonderful venue. Right from the easy access from area freeways to convenient parking in the ramp next door, to the courteous and helpful staff. The building itself is an architectural gem, both inside and out, but more so inside. 2019 is its 100th anniversary, which they will celebrate throughout the 2019-2020 season. Like they say, there isnt a bad seat in the house. It just feels intimate. My preferred seating is the dress circle. That is the closest of three balconies. I prefer it to main floor, as one can see the musicians plying their craft, so easily. The acoustics are marvelous. From the balcony I could hear the banter and jokes of Branford Marsalis and his quartet.A true treasure of Detroit.
It goes without saying that the Hall itself is a fantastic place for a concert. What I have noticed over the past couple years is an increased level of service and I appreciate the drink service during intermission. Parking is easy and safe.
The performance venue is magnificent. I an a season ticket holder and patron so it is obvious regarding my love for the art. Additionally, the performance was great. We are very fortunate to have such artistry in our City.
I often go to Orchestra Hall to listen & see the Detroit Symphony Orchestra preform. Great acoustics, easy parking & a fabulous Orchestra.
Great The Vinyl Years concert by the fabulous DSO and guest vocalists.
Absolutely fantastic orchestra and conductor
Beautiful hall and great staff. The sound is best on the balcony
Modern yet elegant. Great sound and audio.
Had no issues seeing from the dress circle. The seats are small, but the venue interior is nice. It was nothing special as a venue, though, if you have been to other orchestra halls. There was no line for the womens bathroom, though so that was a nice surprise. Not sure if thats a usual thing.
Came through the front door for interview one lady clothes for shade and pointed her finger up under the shade for me to go to the next lady as I proceeded to the next lady she was on the phone talking personal conversation as I stood there for approximately 10 minutes then she asked me can she help me Ill say yes Im here for interview she left the death she came back she told me to go around to the alley and go to the double glass doors. As I go around back alley part and go to the double glass doors the security guard was also on the phone as I stood there for another 10 minutes which made me late for my interview when I decided to ask him can you help me please he still told me to hold on until he finish this conversation on the phone. As I stood there he informed me that the person that was interviewing me would be down shortly I sat there for another half an hour waiting to have my interview.
Fabulous place!! Its clean, beautiful, every seat has a good view, the accoustuics are fabulous, and the orchestra is tremendous!!!! Highly recommended!
Very nice. Staff is friendly, and venue is beautiful!
Saw Hogwarts at Halloween.Orchestra was incredible. Venue is absolutely beautiful. Easy parking and just a tad off the freeway made for a thoroughly enjoyable Saturday afternoon!
DSO concert with Leonard Slotkin was magical
5 rows from the stage, almost to close. We attended a DSO Pops concert.
The best place to see classic or jazz music in detroit
Very beautifully restored hall. The music sounds beautiful, the symphony orchestra is an absolute recommendation
Great sound. The music was phenomenal.
Beautiful venue! The DSO gives fabulous performances and the audience has always been great too. Staff is wonderful and very helpful. Comfortable seating, clean restrooms. Parking is easy in nearby structure.
Detroits jewel...with a great orchestra...also host other concerts
Queens of Soul knocked it out of the park!Always like seeing -Jeff Tyzikmy favorite conductor. The DSO is realy The Best .
Cold as Alaska inside the auditorium the air conditioning was blowing from the floor. People kept their coats on to tolorate the chill. The heat hasnt worked before Christmas. I was most uncomfortable. However good music, food and drinks offering in the Max Fischer was delightful.
The DSO is always amazing! We are so lucky to have such talented musicians in Detroit. Always worth the trip!
The acoustics are outstanding! I would love to hear myself play my trumpet or baritone here. All of the employees are friendly, courteous, respectful. I highly recommend going to this venue.
Had a great time with my little princess.
