This museum, located in the RiNo district of Denver, is an interesting, and fun way to spend an hour if you’re in town. They have tons of cars, trains, tractors, carriages, motorcycles, bicycles etc. from various points in history. They also have a few famous movie cars. IMHO the stars of the museum are the trains. I hope to visit again post-COVID to see some of the exhibits from the inside. They have a small but fun souvenir shop as well. Highly recommended for something fun to do in the city.

I always try to stop in at the Forney Museum at least every year or so when visiting Denver to see what they are currently displaying. They rotate some of their artifacts and items on loan yearly so there are always new things to see. And for train buffs they always have their Big Boy 4005 steam locomotive on display - indoors! Due to covid they no longer allow visitors in the 4005s cab, but with climate controlled comfort you can take your time on photos of those close up details of the running gear.

Amazing and comprehensive museum that covers every aspect of transportation you can imagine with a collection that is unrivaled by museums anywhere in the world. From trains, to vehicles driven by multiple propulsion methods and of all shapes and sizes. Two to three to four wheelers are all covered in fantastic detail and many exhibits include the full gamut of a vehicle’s manufacturer from across the spectrum of almost a hundred years.Went during Denver arts week which happens during the first Saturday of November where multiple art museums graciously open up their doors for free between 5-10pm.Museum admission is not expensive on most other days and it’s an absolute must see if you have any interest in seeing large machinery and learning about the history of transportation as we know it today. Not terribly difficult to get to via public transportation but it does require a decent walk from the nearest train station.

We spent the afternoon in Denver with my Dad. He loves trains, planes and automobiles. This was a really cool exhibit. If you havent been you really should go. This visit they featured LOWRIDERS. All sorts of modifications and artwork. Indian motorcycle fans would be impressed. And they have one of the Union Pacific Big Boys. Much more than this short list. Takes a couple of hours tops for the casual visitor to appreciate one of Denvers hidden gems.

Very extensive amount of autos, motorcycles and bicycles from years back. Good history information found here, on autos too. Displays are refresh, to show different types and models vehicles, about every couple months. Several trains in display, with charts explaining their origin and use. Big Boy train here, one of the largest ever made in the world. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Absolutely recommended! The museum has a great collection and everythings very well taken care of. Its very easy to keep social distance because of the huge size of the museum, and they did a very good job of setting up a one-way walkway through the museum to keep things safe. Dont let virus concerns stop you from visiting this museum, unique places like this are really struggling too keep the lights on and should be kept alive

Absolutely loved this museum! Our main purpose of going was to see the Big Boy! We loved seeing it but also loved the rest of the museum! It is right behind the Denver Coliseum and apparently there were graduations going on. The museum was selling their parking lot spots. We didnt have to pay to park when I told them we were actually going to the museum but it was annoying to have to wait in line to get into the parking lot.

Stumbled upon this museum by chance and was not disappointed! $12 adult admission and I spent about 90 minutes here, it wasnt overly large, but still worth my while since they have a BIG BOY on display! Theres only a few left in existence, so you cant put a price on seeing one of these relics! As far as the automobiles, they have a good selection, and have the appropriate amount of background on each one!

With a ticket, you get the chance to see hundreds of exhibits and displays of transportation over the centuries; which I find PRICELESS. Id say it is definitely worth checking out, if you havent already.

Amazing collection of vintage cars, bikes and bicycles. The place is in Denver Downtown. I had some time to kill during layover and visited this place. The entry fee is $12 per adult and it is worth it. You get to see vintage cars along with their stories. Some cars are donated and they have a proper documentation of who was the donar and when was it donated. Some cars stay for shorter period and get moved to another museum to display. If you are a car enthusiast, please do visit this place.
