The aquarium was great due to the virus we had to purchase tickets online and pick a time slot which made the whole experience awesome! There were very few people in the aquarium and we could take our time and not have to fight the crowds. I loved the parrot he was very energetic
Really amazing! well thought out and different than any other aquarium I’ve been too! You got to feed the stingrays (2.70 for two fish) all the fish to the aquarium were very interactive with the humans. The baby loved it and so did my sister. Got to get drinks at the underwater dining experience. The only reason why I gave it four stars is because they promised me mermaids and there was no mermaids lol
Had an awesome time. The aquarium had great Covid prevention measures in place as well.
We were warned that this would not be great but we truly loved it. The otters were our favorite but there were so many beautiful fish, frogs, tigers and more! City Pass had a discount if we bought multiple city tourist attractions. Check it out.
The Downtown Aquarium is a great tourist attraction in Denver for all ages, but it is definitely geared towards younger kids. The tickets are pretty pricey but the gift shop has some of the lowest prices I have ever seen at a tourist attraction. All of the staff there are very friendly and give off the vibe to guests that they really enjoy being there. I personally went on Halloween and while they had a few activities, the aquarium was still prioritized by the management. I was overall satisfied with my visit and would recommend it to a friend.
Jennie and I took, my best friend, Jennies girlfriend here for her birthday on October 1st! I want to say thank you to the people that keep that place going. It was so relaxing to walk around not crowed and everyone waring face mask made the trip much more enjoyable! Glad they had the scooters across the street, it made for a fun trip to My Brothers Bar for lunch,(My Brothers Bar is a place I would not recommend. Their service was bad and food was Mcdonalds standards! Pretty set up tho) Over all the experience at the Denver Aquarium was amazing and we will be back!
Ive always enjoyed the aquarium and the only reason Im giving 4 stars this time is just because of covid stuff. You need to wear a mask throughout the facility. They have select time slots to buy tickets for which sort of helps with spreading people out, but obviously not completely because once youre inside you want to stop and read or look more. So just be prepared for more people in certain areas than other areas. I was finally able to see one of the tigers out and about which made me happy. Every time Ive been before, theyve either not been out at all or all I could see was a paw. One of the otters was out too which was also cool! The restaurant was open and so was the gift shop. I wish I wouldve been able to see more of the big turtles but unfortunately I only saw one in the big exhibit. Overall a good time even though it felt very short based on the cost of the tickets, but, no real issue there because I love the aquarium.
It was a nice place to go and see all the different types of fish. The kids enjoyed it including my 7 month old grandbaby. Something we will do again on another visit to Colorado.
They do well with the limitations due to COVID! Although we were late for our scheduled time we still got to go in and enjoy the exhibits. It’s great for families regardless of age! Baby loved the fake orangutan, the lions, and of course the dedicated Nemo exhibit! Highly recommend, especially because it’s not that expensive! Also, I know there was Groupon at the time for ‘the whole package’ which was just too much to do for us with a 2 year old, but maybe for older kids you can enjoy all the other offers!
I had a very good time here. It was a little different because of social distancing but well worth it. I would definitely return.
Ive always enjoyed this aquarium, I was disheartened by the lack of cooperation from other guests about maintaining the 6 ft rule however this round. We let them pass and carried on enjoying the exhibits. I could definitely spend a day here just sitting and staring at the large fish swim by if it was allowed! I definitely recommend FEEDING the stingrays at the end!
Had a blast with our 1 year old. I would say its a safe age to take them its when they start taking notice of whats going around
We have been to Downtown Aquariums in just about ever location they have. This one in Denver was awesome. The exhibits are large and well thought out. The restaurant is smaller than most other Downtown Aquariums but the food was great and the COVID-19 restrictions were planned and followed and not one bit an inconvenience.Great time on our trip to Denver.
I LOVED it. It was an outing with some out of state friends after my Halloween party. This was everyone first time going and it was super amazing. The aquarium is much bigger than what it appears to look like from the outside. We used a groupon and have had dinner. Im planning to go again
This aquarium is split into sections that lead you through varying aquatic biomes. The entire walk through feels very engaging and exciting. With numerous giant tanks, the downtown aquarium succeeds in delivering an up close and personal experience for all ages. Expect to see smallish sharks, an otter, tigers, eels, giant turtles, tons of fish, and even some snakes. And yes, theres a manta petting exhibit.
Dub the kiddos over there on the weekend since it was cold outside and wanted to leave the house such an amazing place and such an amazing time to spend with the kids and seeing all the fish amazing amazing amazing
So many things to see!! A great place for the kids to run around as well! I went as part of a group and we had a great time! There are a lot of interactive displays and the ability to pet live stingrays was a total hit with the kids!
We decided to check out the Aquarium while staying in Denver - it was the restaurant that actually drew us in. We were seated at a table that was further back from the aquariums- the place was almost empty but alas, everything available by the glass was taken. I observed another couple getting ready to leave and asked our waitress if we could move to that table. She told me we could. I watched her clear the table, but she never looked up at us. After several minutes, a family came in and occupied the table that was previously promised to us. I think the waitress felt uncomfortable with the turn of events and barely came by our table afterwards to refill drinks. Aside from that, the food was really good, the scenery, albeit from a distance for us was nice (and Im sure is magical for anyone lucky to get a lotto seat by the glass). The aquarium inside is clean and pretty. I was surprised there was a tiger exhibit inside with a Tiger who was awake and easy to observe. At the end of the exhibit, you could interact with stingrays. I also enjoyed the shark tunnel and glass floor port holes where sharks swam under. If youre looking to kill a few hours with grace - this is a good place to start.
Great for kids and adults too. Some of the fish look like they are injured, so thats one point of concern. That being said, the place is very well put together and the displays are well done.
Today was pretty awesome! I got to see a lot of fish, and stuff like tigers, otters and even a tarantula! I love tarantulas and that made my day! Its Halloween so that made it even better. I also got a geode and a mine bag so i can get more crystals. Would go over and over again :3
I have to say I was not expecting this aquarium to be as well kept and as fun as it was. You can tell that they take very good care of all of the animals and the owners/employees have a wealth of pride in their jobs. I am from out of town and visited the aquarium on my last day in town and Im simply overwhelmingly impressed at how good of a time I had.
Definitely smaller in size only took us an hour to walk through and really enjoy it . But also definitely worth it! From the tigers, to the otter, the sharks, and so much more! One of my favorite things is that the Denver aquarium has over others is the fact they have multiple larger tanks that you can enjoy viewing, where as most aquariums have one maybe two.
The aquarium was pretty nice and theyre doing a good enough job maintaining covert awareness as well as keeping the amount of visitors limited to help with social distancing. All of the exhibits were very clean and the Animals seem to be in good health. I was not expecting a tiger to be one of the animals on display but it was a pleasant surprise to see something different considering it was related to The Aquatic Life and its living habits. I definitely wish I could have brought my kids but it was entertaining and if Im ever close to it again Ill definitely make sure to stop in to see if things have changed
Pretty nice place to go see all kinds of different fish and aquatic animals.
Love the aquarium. Weve been members for 5 years. If you plan on going more than twice the membership is totally worth it, since tickets are expensive. My kids have always loved it. I love that its inside (cool in summer, warm in winter), open year round, set up in a single walkway through the exhibits (hard for kids to get lost), and consistently takes about an hour to go through the entire thing. Its a nice short morning trip, get some lunch on the way home and lay my kids down for their afternoon nap. Parking is cheaper with the membership and always easy (unlike the zoo).
Fun and extremely well themed aquarium. About a 45 minute walk through multiple biomes while learning about different kinds of aquatic life - and big cats!
Great inside fun and learning for all ages.My family and I had a lot of fun! We cant wait to go back.
The parking is right across the road with easy access, the exhibits take about an hour to an hour and a half. There is a large shark exhibit at the end and a sting Ray pool where you can touch and feed them. And the restaurant has a view thats amazing. Food is great. A bit on the pricy side but the atmosphere is worth it! Definitely give it a try
Even with Covid, they were insanely kind and courteous. We even got to feed the stingrays
Amazing experience. Had a great time walking and looking at all the different species of fish. I do recommend the Downtown Aquarium and will be back in the future
It is a very nice Aquarium but seemed a bit high price for what it is. Also - you will have to pay for parking. Just wish it was longer and had more exhibits - but overall a nice place.
Fun place to take the kids and explore, they love it! Favorite highlights for the kids were the sea otters, tiger, and the sharks, but lots of other interesting marine life to see along the way.
I loved going to this place. They practice social distancing and as long as u sign on for appointment times. It was super fun place to take the kids for vacation!
Make sure to make a reservation. And yes you do have to pay for parking before 7pm I believe.I was able to bring the stroller in with my son which was nice.PLEASE wear a mask!Social distancing is NOT a priority while you are walking through the aquarium. People really dont seem to care or seem to want to have at least even a 3 foot distance from you at least the time i went. I constantly either had to hurry in front to try and make distance or not take my time and move to a different area. Overall, the aquarium is still the same very nice and lots to see! You still get the chance to feed the sting rays and or touch them in the pool.
One of the best city aquariums Ive been to. Very large facility, and diverse marine life. It was cool to see Tigers, but its an awfully small place for 3 tigers. Well worth the trip, just skip the restaurant. Over priced for meh food.
It is smaller then some Aquariums but still cute. Gave 2 stars because they have a tiger in a small area and he seems really stressed. Hate he is there and dont think that is the correct setting for a tiger. Hope they find him a larger, better home where he can be healthy and happy and not alone and pacing due to his stress.
The aquarium itself was great; however, Im taking off a star for poor customer service. It took me 30 minutes to get through to someone on the phone. Just kept ringing and going to voice-mail. Finally when someone picked up I was requesting info about the discount that is advertised on the website that if you dine at the restaurant you get free parking and a discount on exhibit tickets after 6. She said that was only on Fridays which was not what the website says. Either change the site to reflect the correct info or honor what the site says.
Amazing place to spend the cold days at with the kids
As Im posting during the Covid outbreak, this review may some some parts to be taken with a grain of salt in the future. But none the less, this is an amazing aquarium.Ill get the Covid stuff out of the way first: if you want to get outside and do things, this is a great place to go. The only stipulation is you have to have a mask and social distance, and thats pretty normal at this point. Its not packed at all, and the way that they have the aquarium laid out normally is a straight line from start to finish. Now, to the normal stuff. This aquarium is just pure awesome. Massive tanks, lots of fish, and everything you could ever ask for. They even have 3 rescue tigers. But thats not all. This place is very good for children and learning. All around, it has signs not only telling you about what you are seeing, but the environment they live in as well. Its truly amazing what you can learn if you spend your time and have the ability to see what you are learning about right in front of you. Not to mention, the habits are styled in such a way to immerse you inside of them. Its truly amazing what they have been able to achieve. Im not going to spoil much, but the indoor rainforest is truly amazing.I wish I could write about every little thing but I dont have the space for that. Basically, if youre in the metro area and need something to do, this is a great place to go. Even though it may seem a bit expensive, its well worth the $25 (as of September 2020). Ill let the pictures do the rest of the speaking for me.
Fun place to see, but the price for how much there is to do is not worth it. There were alot of places closed and Aspen the sloth wasnt available. Really cool to see, but pricey. It took us only 4t min to salk thru all of it. With taking video and pictures
So amazing took hundreds of photos while going through! Couldnt get enough! And they have tigers!
Nice little aquarium. We loved the big tanks that had variety of sea creatures. We were surprised to see a tiger at an aquarium!
Very cool, wish we had gone earlier in day and COVID monkey wasnt hanging off our backs.
Nice family outing. The mini attractions arent open but it was still fun. Ticket price wasnt bad and we fed the sting rays.
Great family day trip. Once youre there its really worth the trip and money. I love it especially because I love fish. Only complaint is that there are always long slow lines. Must see!
Immersive interior, interesting exhibits, animals-!!!-in addition to the aquatic life, that I wanted to see...this place has it all!
The Downtown Aquarium in Denver Colorado is a great place to visit. Its by appointment only. To keep track of how many people are coming in and out of the aquarium. Displays are absolutely unreal. To see everything you need about three hours. Price of admission is on par with what the aquarium has to offer. Great place to take your children. There are Hands-On things to do. Some things are still closed due to covid-19 but its still here in Denver this is a must-see. They also have a tiger at the Aquarium.
We did an animal encounter and it was really fun and knowledgeable. You dont touch the animal and it all goes by their mood, so its as low stress as possible. Loved Olive the otter!
If you base your trip off of the website this location can feel a bit underwhelming. That being said it is beautiful and has some cool features. Going through the exhibits takes about an hour to an hour and a half. The restaurant is delicious but will cost you a bit.
Very fun! I spent a few hours there on my birthday and it was the first public thing Ive done this year. Thanks for the enjoyable afternoon.
Super cool sea life, was able to make a same day reservation after realizing the childrens museum was booked over a week out. my just-turned-two year old was so thrilled by each different viewpoint at each tank. so awesome to watch him interested in all of the animals on display for so long! perfect outing for a toddler, still awe inspiring for the parents. forgot how cool aquariums are. only caveats were that nothing outdoors was running, nor were any staff led exhibits other than petting the stingrays.**actually dumbfounded to see shark embryos in different stages of development... alive in front of me. I didnt even realize we knew anything yet about shark mating OR birth!! very cool to learn something new.
A bit pricey for what you get. I understand it’s during Covid and I was happy it was even open, but some attractions should still be available. Especially if the entrance fee totals $40+ for you and your kid. It’s a quick exhibit which also was slightly disappointing. My son did love petting the sting rays though and we got to see the octopus being fed! Silver linings.
Very beautiful place. You get to see a variety of different species. Family friendly and has very delicious food! You can even host your larger events with the aquarium as a venue!! How cool
Had a great time! They are managing Covid well and I got great customer service all the way through. I ate at the restaurant after my visit and was treated like an old friend by the receptionist and my server. Would highly recommend
Amazing place to go to with friends or family!! Seen COVID it is easier to buy tickets online so you have a promise spot!! So many great things to see and customer service was great!
I loved our photographer he was the first person we met so friendly and charismatic. I loved my trip to the aquarium. Bought our pictures and saw some amazing animals. Great memories.
The restaurant was great! Our server was extremely friendly and tolerant of our very busy toddler. The food was excellent. The aquarium view was really cool. I also appreciate that as a Landrys location, they have an excellent rewards program.
We’ve been to denver 2 times, and both times we brought our daughter to the aquarium. We love it
Took my son for his 5th birthday and was absolutely a great day for us all. The restaurant was amazing as we all watched the huge tanks filled with fish as we ate. A bit pricey but worth the smiles.
Safely sanitized and offering ways to santize. The workers were really friendly and fun.Loved all it had to offer. The restaurant below seemed very expensive but the food was good. With a party of 8 our food bill was almost $200.
Such a great and unique experience! I really enjoyed it, all the beautiful fish and all kinds of animals - and it looks just great under the sea. You can enjoy a really beautiful view, probably would come again.
Great, clean, and fun place! The handlers were very nice, professional, and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend it, and feeding the stingrays/shark/manta rays was so much fun! Neat little add in
Pretty decent aquarium for being a “chain” aquarium. When I visited Nashville I wanted to go to the Downtown Aquarium but never had the chance. After visiting Denver’s, I’m assuming it’s quite similar. Lots of different types of fish and animals, pretty well spread out and didn’t have to wait behind people to see anything. Not the best aquarium I’ve been to but not the worst either. Good place to take kids.
One of the best attractions for the family in the state. Tons of great exhibits and creatures/animals. All so well cared for and the staff walking around are very knowledgeable if you have questions about anything in specific. The restaurant is also delicious and not too pricey. Gift shop is also not highly overpriced. Best for me was definitely the sharks and corals! Highly recommend!
Gorgeous place. Beautiful to take the kids and pictures. Even with the pandemic times, places was not crowded, they limit the entrance so you have to buy tickets online and choose a specific time. Totally recommend it. Parking is like $10 per car plus the entrance fee
I’d give this aquarium a strong 4 stars. The facility is definitely pretty neat and appeared to be well taken care of. The loss of the 5th star is because of cost. My fiancé paid a total of about $58 for 2 adult tickets and parking to visit this place. We both agreed it was worth a 1 time visit at that price.Should prices be adjusted to 18-20 dollars per adult and maybe 5 dollars for parking then we’d definitely visit again!
Took my son her on Friday and he loved it. Will definitely go back. The only thing is when we went I forgot to pack our stroller for our daughter and when we got there they told us they didnt have any stroller rentals which the lady at the ticket area was kind of rude about. But the rest of the time spent there was amazing!
Nice place to hangout with kids. My kid was so excited to be inside the aquarium.
Its amazing and beautiful, lots to see for marine animals.
Had a blast walking through all the exhibits. Was a lot of people visiting, but still had plenty of fun and tons of photo opportunities.
Nice experience. Grandson enjoyed. Good time had by all.
The reason for the lower rating is bcuz of covid. There was ZERO social distancing when i went a couple weekends ago and some people werent even wearing masks. I felt as tho I couldnt really enjoy the exhibits. But they have beautiful fish, I go souly to touch the stingrays at the end bcuz its amazing and so fun!! Would recommend if youve never done too go and try it.
Always a wonderful time with the family! Such a beautiful exhibit. The kids absolutely love it and have a great time. Dont forget to stop by the restaurant. Excellent food and service with a huge fish tank in the dining area.
I thought it was great was not able to do everything because of covid but still nice. However I thought it would have been a bit longer and maybe some more over the head tank hallways but overall beautiful place!
This place is fantastic! Aqauriums are a must-do every place I travel and this was by far the best one Ive seen. They even had tigers! Plus they have a section on water in Colorado & some education about flash floods. They also have a bunch of sting rays that you can pet free of charge! It was an incredible place to visit.
Super clean and easy to stay away from other people. I have been to a lot of aquariums and by far will be one of my favorites
Service is always excellent even when they have a full house. I will probably become a regular. The place has a cool feel to it.
Great animals and is the only aquarium I have visited so far that has a tiger! Awesome-sized tanks and lots of sharks! Absolutely worth checking out!
Went with the family and had a great time! They had 2 tigers out this time around and got to touch some stingrays and punched one for my boy Crocodile Hunter when they werent looking...RIP Steve Irwin...jk we had a good time more expensive than I remember though.
Great experience at the Aquarium. There are many things that they arent able to do right now because of COVID restrictions, but I felt like they did an excellent job with what they could do. I enjoyed visiting as an adults only visit so I could take my time and check everything out.
Posted at their window... they did not honor and refused our entry after we paid. my wife has a signed medical waiver tried to tell the supervision of this place still, after being shown their own poster. We could not go inNo rating from me and I will never return
Took my family here recently and loved it. Easy to forget we were in the Rock Mountains. Beautiful time, beautiful place and wish I would have seen this before. Do not put off, have to go check it out.
It was alot of fun with our family having dinner here. This was our first time doing something like this and our kids Loved it! The food was great I had the Louisiana Cajun pasta!!! YUMM!! Very fun place to take the family and see some fish swimming around you!!!
You have to reserve your tickets and pay online beforehand and they have staggered entrances which allowed for a less busy experience! They arent taking pictures at the entrance currently and they arent doing any of their free interactive exhibits but you can still pet the stingrays at the end. Love this place, just wish it wasnt so expensive to take the whole family.
Lots of great fish to see as well as some tigers...I highly recommend this aquarium
Not cheap, but an experience you should, at least have a drink at, visit this aquarium. Big fish in the tank and a great and mystical feeling place to eat. Good food and good times.
This has been one of my favorite places since I was a kid and always will be . I appreciate the amazing service that I receive every time I come here. Good job Downtown Aquarium. Keep up the amazing work .
There are some really cool animals here. We did wish we had realized how small the aquarium was, so we could have taken more time inside.
Beautiful marine life! Would go again!
Wonderful open exhibits that give space to move around, the different environments are very pretty. Love the variety of fish and exhibits. A little pricey (2 adults / 1 child) and they funnel you right into the restaurant and gift shop ( be prepared with kiddos).
A little steep on price point. I was worried at first cause it looked like i could have gotten the same viewing experience at cabelas tank viewing but it got way better. The tiger was an amazing suprise at an aquarium. Kiddo loved it definitely worth the time just a little spendy.
Great experience while visiting Denver, this was a good attraction via the “City Pass”. Highly recommend, my son had a blast here!
Super awesome atmosphere! Staff was super nice, food and wait staff was awesome! All around had a great time!
Its beautiful to Gids creatures uo clise, and the staff us super.
This was the first aquarium I have ever been to but I had a great time and there is so much to interact with and see the layout is great and very well structured. I cant wait to go back and see it again
Very very nice. The restaurant was fantastic. One of the best ive ever been too. Only four stars because the aquarium itself had a bizarre layout and there was a section you couldnt bring service animals in, and it seemed like an odd choice, as there was no other way around it.
My girlfriend and I visited today, and we had fun! The one thing I might recommend is waiting until the Covid precautions are no longer necessary, for a few reasons. Many of the extra games and details are unavailable, which really cuts down the amount of time you can spend there. Also the building is formatted to have people walking in a fairly narrow line, so if someone decides to take a long while looking at an exhibit, everyone else is either forced to squeeze by at distances less than 6 feet or wait their turn. Other than that, they have many cool different kinds of animals, not just fish! I wasnt expecting to see tigers at an aquarium!
