Located in a nice area .. Friendly staff . Huge field for outdoor football
I love the scope of facilities this place has. The skate park, a superb pool, clean and nice locker rooms, everything here is top notch. Way beyond what I previously expected in a gym.BUT:My only, but serious, complaint is the hours. They largely are only open when most people are at work. Early mornings? Nope. Late evenings/night? Nope. Weekends? Open even less! I would much rather support the citys publicly funded rec centers after my experience here, but my inability to line my schedule up with working out at this facility makes me consider going back to the likes of 24 hour fitness and such.
We decided to have our 4 kids do swimming lessons here. The first few classes were great but it feels like they just checked out towards the end. They started the 30 min classes 5 to 6 mins late and then have had the kids playing the whole time. Literally the whole time. No structure. No teaching. Just playing. For 24 mins.
A great recreation center in Montbello. A hidden jewel. This place offers classes, meals and great facilities for having a meeting. Friendly and welcoming staff.
They need more activity for children and a better pool. And more upgrades to the facilities.
I like go walking or just watch the sunset
I really like this Rec. I run into a lot of people from high school.
This rec center is walking distance to my house, and I choose to drive almost 20 minutes to Central Park just to avoid this place. The lady at the front desk in the morning is the worst person I have ever had the displeasure of paying to interact with. Every single time I came in she was rude, or did not acknowledge me at all. She asked me to come take a photo after swim class one morning (when I was sweating, hair partially wet, no makeup etc.), and when I requested to take it the next time I came in she was extremely rude. I didnt understand why it wasnt taken when I first signed up for a membership, and I swear she would do things like this just to make the experience more miserable because I dont know why it needed to be done that day. I realized I was feeling grumpy after leaving each time I came, and it was because I had to see her- it really was that bad and a terrible way to start the day. I was coming for the aqua fitness classes, and they were a complete joke. The lifeguards doing the classes were often on their phones during class and did not seem prepared at all, mostly just going off the same sheet class after class. I like current top 40ish music, but the things they would choose for class seemed inappropriate for the crowd and class. It was also more of a social club with most of the participants standing around and chatting vs following the class. After a few weeks of trying to just make it work, I decided I felt very unwelcome here and chose to look at other recs for classes. Central Park isnt perfect, but its a whole lot more welcoming, cleaner and larger.
Some buddies of mine and myself use this gym for the open court. The basketball courts are nice. They have children services as well. Safe area with plenty of parking
The best sumer ever..
I use this rec center a couple times a week. It has a great location and is easy to find. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is well maintained and clean. The weight room, which I mainly use, is upstairs away from bathrooms or locker rooms. There is a small locker available up there for use. There is one power rack and one Smith machine, various dumbbells and quite a few resistance machines. There are several free benches, but only one regular chest press bench. The only complaint Ive had is that occasionally on Sundays there will be a whole group of guys treating it more like their personal clubroom than a gym, blasting music from a speaker, leaving weights scattered everywhere and hogging equipment. There have also been a few instances where boys much younger than the 15 year old cutoff were attempting to work out or clowning around with equipment and risking serious injury to themselves or others.
Since there are two pages for the same incompetent organization, I will post on both. What is the point of paying for the lights to turn on weeks(months?) in advanced if you dont turn it on for us? We reserved a soccer field and put in a lot of effort to figure out the logistics of getting many people from all over the state to come play. Not to mention the double confirmation calls during the week of to the officials who were insistent that the lights would be on at 7:10 pm. We stayed till 8:30 pm in hopes the lights would turn on, and it did not. We hope we get at least a full refund, but can you incompetent folks compensate us for the time and efforts involved in organizing our event? Terrible city organization. Seriously, if you simply did this well, you would have had our loyal business for years to come and received many referrals. Now, due to the lack of simply doing youre job, you will not only lose future business from our organization but every network of players who were present. Incompetency has a price. I will personally ask every discontent player and fan who was present today to write a negative review. Way to ruin our holiday weekend.
While they have some great equipment, they are lacking some vital pieces. It would be great to have a squat rack, versus a machine squat or a Smith machine. The ceiling is also too low in the workout area to do full pull ups or especially muscle ups. The staff is very friendly and the facility is kept clean.
A place that is really trying for the sake of the children in the community
Great place to work out. Gym is usually pact but everything else is pleasant plus a nice pond outside so us can run around on the trail. I even brought my dog and the staff brought out a bowl and water for my German shipyard. Thx
Good location for picnic, Plenty space to do outdoor activity
Great family fun.
Nice amenities and fields for sports to be played. i believe there is a pool but not 100% on that. trails around the park.
Its just always so dirty out on the field. Thats my only complaint. The same pistachio shells and riff-raff trash bits are here week after week until the wind takes care of it.The courts and field are well-lit and thats wonderful for spectators and athletes.
This place is one of the nicest recreation centers Ive seen.
This Rec center epitomizes what a Reac center should be. Excellent facilities.
Great facility. Very friendly and helpful.
Nice staff. And private gym. With a indoor pool. Fun
This is a good spot for teenagers. Once you hit 21 you get charged $5.00 each day you go. Also you HAVE to be a Denver resident. A friend of mine lived in Aurora, wasnt allowed in for not being a Denver Resident.
Attended a resource fair here last week. The front desk was very friendly and welcoming.
Got great classes for people to join, and a great sport center
Great place! So many fun activities, everyone there is so friendly and they will crack you up.
Nice rec.center
Pretty, modern, lots of things to do, but membership is a bit pricey.
My kids play basketball there and they feel very safe and entertained.
Really great place to keep yourself and your kids busy. They provide food for the kids and they provide educational and recreational activities.
Pretty good recreation center. I mostly came here to weight-lift about 3 to 4x a week for over half a year. For those not familiar with rec centers in Denver, those under 18 can come to the gym for free. After you turn 19 for a month or two, you have to start paying about $30/month, and the price exponentially increases as you get older. Seniors get a fair price. I can say about eight times I came to this rec center to find it closed on holidays or maintenance, probably the reason Id give it three stars.Place gets busy with teens after 4:30pm on weekdays...Its not uncommon having to wait or assert yourself for the benchpress and smith machine. Like all gyms, quite a bit of meat heads here. Its very common having to use lower weights because other weights are taken. Girls will have some trouble working out in the afternoon, any time before 3pm and youll find the weight lifting area fairly empty! The two mexican dudes at the entrance are chill. If you come later in the night and see a big black dude with glasses, chances are he will give you beef over small trivial things like wearing jeans (like tf? Im an adult I am responsible for myself) All in all, Id recommend hitting a dedicated gym than paying for this rec center.
Good views.
Ive come to this recreation center for 10 years, and for the last year, have never felt more unwelcome. I actually had to cancel my membership because the manager started limiting the number of times I could come into the facility. All I (and my 2-3 other friends) use is a floor and an outlet (Im a bgirl), and after much trial and error, have been forced to use the basketball court--which wouldnt be a problem, if the teenagers didnt bully myself and the few others I bring to train in A CORNER of the court. At first, I got it, its a basketball court, not a dance room (that of which we are prohibited from using unless we pay to rent it out--and its a filthy room by the way, because NO ONE USES IT.). But if we occupy a small corner first, then IT IS our space, according to the Director of Parks and Rec.Of course, it doesnt help that the primary manager told her staff about us and makes it pretty clear that she doesnt like us. One staff member was nice enough to let us into the dance room when the primary manager wasnt there and the courts were too full since he (and few other staff) were witness to an unfortunate turn of events between us and some teenagers.Weve had to get a refund on a couple occasions because, overall, the staff treats the recreation center like a Boys and Girls Club and would rather direct their business towards students playing hookie with their MyDenver Card than customers paying full-price to get into the facility.
I like the swimming pool
Usually come here to be around the playground kids always have fun, many teenagers around should place trash were it belongs though.
It offers swimming pools and other things for people studyng its free and it includs gym videogames and like a open highschool for everyone were parents can also come
Fun, safe place for the children
There’s a lot of open field for basketball and soccer plus baseball
Its prettu good to play basketball
Ghetto, Dangerous, And dirty. Unruly type of people hanging out.
Love it

This Montbello Recreation Center is great
Its decent
Its the bomb! Cuz i said so
If this is the only rec close by that you can go to, it is not worth paying the membership for.
