Pretty odd they wont pro-rate lessons if you sign up after the session starts. I wont sign up and pay for lessons I am not getting so you get no revenue. Makes no sense, your loss.Additionally, only 3 of the 4 ball machine courts have ball hoppers to pick up the balls. If you are paying for the court and ball machine it should always include a hopper. You waste a third of the time picking up balls by hand when there is no hopper.
Terrible! its a toxic environment the coaches are jerks and not respectful. My sister and I are never coming back!
Denver tennis revolves around Gates. Really good drills, great people from the pros to the front desk and affordable courts. And public, so anyone is welcome at any time! They offer tennis for the beginner up to the elite player. And demo racquets, along with tons of choices to buy racquets from most mfgs. Ive sent tons of people to Gates to buy racquets w/ their selection & prices.
You can reserve courts and ball machines online in advance. You can buy or rent racquets, the offer stringing services, and they have a modest selection of shoes. You can also get some refreshments, but it is not a wide selection. They have their teams for tennis leagues, tennis lessons are offered...all at a pretty reasonable cost without a membership requirement.
Great courts, great staff. Best place in the downtown area
I left this place for stars because well its just a tennis facility, and while its quite nice, its still just a facility. Also there were no four star review so I thought it could use one
After years of thinking about it, I finally joined the singles ladder this year, and have had a great time so far. We are lucky to have such a nice (and not expensive) tennis facility in Denver. The courts are well maintained, and the LED lighting is superb. This is just a great place for anyone who likes playing tennis.
This place is an amazing asset for the Denver tennis scene. Great courts, great facilities. My one complaint is their rainout/cancellation policy on lessons. Its a bit unfair but otherwise this place is great.
Friendly staff, clean and nice courts
Great well-maintained public tennis facility! There are no residency requirements, you just pay for the time you play. You can also take some private lessons and buy rackets at the pro shop. Absolutely love coming here with a friend to play tennis on a Saturday morning.
Wonderful facility with 20 tennis courts. I especially like the sponsored Ladder Leagues as well as weekend tournaments and low rates for court rentals including ball machines. Very happy it is owned by the city and open to all.
Players in Denver are so fortunate to have such an amazing public facility! Tons of well-maintained courts, ball machines, lights, modern restrooms, ice machine, pro shop... even grills and tons of picnic/post tennis social areas! LOVE playing at Gates! They also sponsor really fun tournaments, but the best is the State Open! I have not seen a tennis center like Gates in any other city!
Today, I went to the pro shop at 7pm to get tennis sneakers. Three people were in the front, two males and a female, not ONE person greeted me or asked me if I needed help. I went to the counter twice....and after the second time being there, and standing there for 10 seconds, and not one person acknowledge, I left telling them Thanks for your help! Ridiculous, was the conversation about Australia that important, that NO ONE COULD help me? Im taking my money elsewhere from now on. Be better GATES!
I recently played in a tournament hosted by Gates. My partner and I had a great time. The facility was fantastic. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the facility restrooms were clean and orderly, there was a nice selection of product available for purchase, and the courts were obviously well-maintained. I had driven by several times, but never stopped in. Im glad I had the opportunity to play there - great atmosphere, great fun!
I love tennis.
Good instructors, clean facility, well maintained courts, reasonably priced pro shop. Stringing unsure, I go elsewhere, sorry to be superstitious. Worth going in any event
I think Gates is helping to bring about a Renaissance in tennis. I live in the Cherry Creek North area and see a lot of action at the courts. More people and better players. The management has produced great programs and the new facilities are not only well done, but beautiful...congrats...cheers, Peter
Gates is the best ourdoor tennis facility in Colorado (public or private). There are so many different programs offered for every level of player. Its perfect for people who are new to tennis or for experienced players who want to find lessons, drills or matches. The pro-shop offers great prices too.
Favorite place to play tennis in Denver, and they run singles ladders throughout the year that are a great way to find matches.
I recently moved to the Denver area and found this facility to be great for all ages and abilities. I had a lot of fun here at recommend it for others check it out. Everyone in my family is involved at least one of the many programs offered here and we greatly enjoy it.
Really affordable racket prices. Friendly Staff, and very fun programs. I would recommend to everyone.
Ok, today I went to Gates to see a tennis match as well as yesterday. I saw dogs on Friday 06/12/2015 on the grounds. So today I decided to bring my four legged family member. I was told by a Witch with at capitalB that we do not allow dogs here. There is NO SIGN POSTED anywhere. I feel that I am discriminated against. If people can bring their YAPPY KIDS anywhere and they are not tamed then they should not produce kids. As I call Breeders.By law if you are serving food they yes, you are not able to bring a pet in. But there is NO food except a dam vending machine if you want to call that Junk FOOD. So this place should be accepting to everyone, and yes I am gay person that has a kid and I am being told one thing everyone else that has pets are told something else. I saw a Pit Bull as well as a Poodle at the Center today. Pit Bulls are against the city and country of Denver or against the law. I did not see anyone tell them something. All I got was if we can catch them then we will tell them something. That was the Witch Aubrey remark.Trust me I will ask the tennis people to go some where else and not there. I hope you find this helpful. Please Boycott this place.
These are really nice public courts. The price is reasonable compared to alternatives, and they offer fairly extensive programs.
One of the best kept secret of denver for tennis playersfrom the management to the pros they have and the employees and specially the front desk employees .and they have great courts and for everyone great programs all year around for the kids and adultsthank you to the gates facility for everythingmichael m
