This place was very nice because my mom would drive me here for my cooking classes I dont remember if it was every Monday or something but she would drive me or every single time my cooking classes and we will cook something and use knives and stuff and we would even make cookies we even make dumplings and shrimp one time and it was so fun when we finished while we were waiting for the food to finish with we had this little room where we could sit in and chill and run around and stuff and I just chilling read a book and run around for a bit it was so fun if you have cooking classes here I recommend that you sign up for them because the teacher is super nice and he does not care about if you have to like if you have to fry the shrimp he just does likes nice things for you even gives you cookies after the class
Excellent playground and field area! Came here with the family and played some frisbee and watched the kids climb all over the equipment. Very new and well-kept playground. This park has little hills made of foam for climbing, lots of benches with shades for parents, and a really big rock on the top of the hill that the kids are just obsessed with. There is a restroom and drinking fountains, as well as a splash pad in the Summer. I would recommend this park for the whole family (pets too.)
I love this pool, it is fun for the kids! Shallow wading/play area, lap pool & a fast moving, river-like situation. I only give 4 stars because the river is seriously intense & there is a swirling circle whirlpool that can be problematic... It is fun, kids love to spin around in there, like a boiling pot of little people. It can be seriously dangerous trying to escape the whirlpool part though! As you leave, the velocity of the river whips you out & can smash your body against the exit wall of the whirlpool. I am strong, but have severely injured my arm twice trying extract children from there. Closely monitor & help your children in the fast part of this pool.
Great place to work out. Lovely view of the mountains and the city. Easy to forget any stress you have while doing the treadmill, or the exercise bike. Plenty of TVs to watch/ listen to, but bring your own ear buds. Clean, warm, classes, pool, and more. Large free parking lot too.
Ok so yall KNOW I LOVE this Recreation Center Right!?!!?! Like literally Im so In LOVE WITH THIS RECREATION CENTER!!!!!!!!! YALL FR!!!!! BUT,,,,,, the pool NEEDS some minor maintenance that is visually unacceptable... I feel and I explained to a lifeguard who got butt reported to his boss for ignoring me, that if thing like a net are ripped or a lifejackets not working right or a ball is deflated you can just take it off until its replaced
I like the staff - especially our Aqua Zumba instructor Marvinna. Shes an excellent teacher who makes it fun and informative. The greeters at the front desk are friendly & welcoming. The pool & the lazy river are good features.
One of the best gyms/overall exercise place Ive ever been at
Always busy early, but my long loves open gym basketball.
Top notch Denver rec center! Our family with five kids has used several rec centers throughout the city and this is our favorite. They have the CHEAPEST CHILDCARE anywhere and its really good.Basketball courts with regular adult and kid pick-up games, awesome pool with lazy river, lap pool, big slide, and shallow toddlers area. The gym has a wide variety of equipment and although regularly used is rarely packed. Their wide variety of community activities are well priced and worth every dollar.
The Aqua Zumba class is so much fun! The instructor is good, and the music is inspirational. Go with the flow on the river walk, or go against the current for a harder workout. Then relax in the jacuzzi. Theres lots of workout equipment, and a gym. Theres even a space for birthday parties. Staff is always helpful and friendly.
Not very clean. Often out of wipes, overflowing trash can outside entrance, dust and dirt all over machines. Cardio area gets very busy and often have to wait.
This place is great! Friendly staff, really reasonable prices, and the indoor pool is amazing. Theres a big water slide, kids sprinklers and a smaller slide, lazy river, whirlpool and lap lanes to boot
Every time I go to workout and I see Tucker at the front desk my day gets better.
Great place.. racist lifeguard name Ena or whatever her name is.. I get that all parents should be at arms length of kids under 6 but she was VERY rude!! There were other kids under age without a parent near by but for some reason she singled out the only black family in the pool area and told us that we needed to be of arms length. She sent another life guard to tell us while she was throwing her arms in the air yelling.. he came over... very nice young man and told us we needed to be by the baby area.. I understood, said that was fine but then I went and pointed out the fact that no one else was by there kids... mind you my kids had a floaty on the other kids her age didn’t and parents were not close by as well.. maybe it’s her young age and since she got a lil bit of power she wants to act a damn fool. But I didn’t appreciate the treatment, and how she singled us out. She needs to work on her customer service skills and learn how to treat people. There is a way to talk to someone
Someone stole my air pods while I was using a machine. I asked the staff to check the cameras and they said they would give me a call. Never heard from them after a week so I went in about 5 other times asking them to look at the cameras to see who took them and they did absolutely nothing. Very frustrating because after asking multiple times and them saying they would look each time but never getting back to me.
Loved it. Havent been swimming in years. Clean and big.
Basketball are very busy..no good rules for basketball course. need more attention on that.
This place is awesome, its huge and has a multitude of things to do, but the gym is the real reason to come here.
I have been a member for 3 days now and I am already in love! From the friendly staff, the kid watch, amazing pool facilities, classes, youth programs, equipment and more I am loving it!
My kids love this place especially swimming class!!!! Its amazing!!!
This rec center is pretty cool. The place was absolutely PACKED so many kids that all you heard was screaming and yelling. Ended up just swimming laps because there was a crazy amount of kids in the lazy river area. They do this thing where they close down the entire kid area for 15-20 minutes every so often to make sure no one is under the water. I thought it was smart but you could tell that it was irritating to the parents and kids that got thrown out if the pool. They had a huge gym. Everything was pretty clean. The locker room floor was so wet that it wasnt very safe. Because it was our first time there we got in for free which was pretty cool. Might go back on a school day with less little kids. Dont get me wrong I have a child but it was CRAZY in there.
NOT spending $6 for uncomfortable seats in a hot humid room with no food or drinks for hours on end ! Not sure where this for profit business model came from but your actual service is unacceptable.
This rec center cannot keep spin instructors for some reason. I’ve shown up 3 different times for an indoor cycling class only to find there is no one to teach it. Staff always claims there is a “video” but there is no one there who knows where it is or how to start it. Sad, because the bikes are nice and when there is a good instructor the classes are really well attended.
Itd be a much nicer facility if some of the guests didnt have racist attitudes towards other guests. On one of my last visits, a white man eventually ended up taking his toddler out of the lazy river because three black women were in there also. Reminded me of the 60s.
Took the kiddos swimming. Had a blast. Clean facilities and great staff.
Good recreation center. Only thing I don’t like are the showers: they’re way too hot
It was my first time there. Very impressive facility!
Very nice rec center with great staff. Ive been to rec centers and gyms all over the U.S., and this one is on par with the best that Ive been to. Is it missing a few pieces of equipment? Yes. Can you still not get your workout on/in due to this fact? No. Keep up the good work Denver Parks and Rec.
Everything is good at this rec center, except the closing hours. I would give it 5 stars if they closed at 10
Great place to work out or swim. Family friendly.
I love looking out over the park while doing cardio. Has something for everyone with a pool, basketball, weight room, fitness classes and cardio area.
Great place if youre over 65. Wonderful facility for $100 per year! 2018...now it;s even better. Its free if youre over 60 because of the new Denver Prime program
Great place. Friendly staff. Even when it looks busy easy to get machines you want. Wish there was more adult only swim times. Love all the windows and open soaring ceilings.
Children running everywhere. Machines remain broken for weeks. Locker rooms are dirty. Overcrowded.
Great place nice pools
This place is limited on equipment and closes at 5 on the weekend. You know the time when everyone actually has time to workout. Had I not realized they closed at 5 the person at the front desk was more than happy to let someone pay a full day fee 20 minutes before closing.
Love Love it great location! Love the Trails, went on a tour with my Dad 85 he wants to go swimming. He thinks its really nice as well!!
We go here for the pool, which is very nice. Its got water features, slides, zero entry and a lazy river. They also have floaties and noodles to borrow, which is perfect for our four year old.
The facility itself is nice- better than any of the other Denver recs I have been to (but I havent visited all of them). The front desk staff are also friendly, which is a nice way to start the day. I started coming for the morning aqua fitness classes, and everything seems to be a mess with the classes. The life guards who lead the classes are absent a lot, under prepared, start class late, etc. and the best instructor recently quit which is super frustrating. I have not attended aqua Zumba, but hear very good things about it and might have to start going to earlier to catch that class. Lately the showers in the womens locker room have also been freezing- to the point where I cant even rinse off after I get out of the pool, let alone actually shower. I pay more for my membership here than I did at 24 Hour Fitness and I have been a bit disappointed.
Needs better wifi, no signal in basement. Clean gym with an attentive and friendly staff. The hours make it tough to get in there on the weekends but overall good value.
Great place for views, working out. The only thing I recommend is to offer military discounts.
If youre trying to swim laps here forget it. You would have a better experience attempting that at WaterWorld on the busiest day of the year. typically only 2 lanes open, always occupied, and the adjacent open section of the pool is crowded with kids and a giant slide dumping water continuously. Ridiculous setup. After 5 months of putting up with it I finally just cancelled my monthly membership, which is a large chore on its own.
Cliffs: If you want a well rounded workout go somewhere else. If you want to drop your kids off at the pool this is the place for you.Went here desperately wanting to like it and switch from 24 hour, which has become a crowded nightmare. Unfortunately the Central Park Rec Center was no different. Super crowded (Monday at 4pm) with someone using almost all pieces of equipment. There are mostly machines (and a large variety at that). Free weights area is super small with one set of dumbells in increments of 5 only. 2 benches. Only a few small mirrors scattered around... Why? No place to stretch or do anything not on a machine or bench. Cables in general are somewhat lacking as well (there are some cables but they are cramped and are incremented by 10 so not a ton of flexibility) . No armed cable machines and no seated cable press. Locker rooms are clean and lockers are nice. Showers are all handicap stalls with benches in them? Crowd is typical/stereotypical Stapleton and this place is definitely a family gym. Front desk staff was nice at lease. Again, probably a great family gym, just not for anyone looking to get a good workout.
Well priced rec center. Never super busy.
Everything needed for a good workout is here. The facility is big so its rare to have to wait for any machines. And its kept clean.
Clean facility with lots of new equipment. Staff is always friendly and helpful. They have great childcare and offer as variety of classes/lessons for all ages.
This weight room has *three* power racks and so much room and space! My favorite rec center in the area
A great place to get some exercise.
Pretty good rec center, plenty of weights and cardio machines. The sand creek jogging path, just outside the rec center, goes for miles. The pool is separated between a lap pool and a play pool. The big drawback is that, theres no whirlpool, hot tub, sauna or steamroom.
The kids employed here are always so friendly. The pool is always clean and with the amount of time I spend here I never see it too busy.
Overall nice rec center but having to wait for a machine because they dont enforce the 45 minute rule gets ridiculous. The pool fills up fast too which is also a downside. Weve been there when youve had to go on a waitlist to get in.
I like Central Park because its easier to go over there and I like to stay there for a little bit and then leave only visits
I like the pool its big and neat, love it. Its our 2nd visit the staff is great and helpful.
All workers are friendly. Very safe and fun environment to be in as well as to bring the kids.
Pretty nice pool geared toward the kids. Went on a friday after school and it wasnt crowded at all
The workout area is grand in space and has all of equipment. Their are 2 pools one is laps and the other for kids. Although the kid pool has a bench in the water and is equip with jets for relaxation
Best kids pool in town. Free for kids who go to school in Denver too. And its one of the only rec centers open on Sunday. Keep that in mind as it can get crowded, especially on bad weather days and they do have a limit.
This center has lots of activities. The staff is nice.
Took a cooking class here & it was amazing! Also had a healthy living/nutrition part of the class that was extremely informative!
A very nice facility that is well maintained. The membership is also very reasonably priced for getting access to nice cardio, weights, a pool (no hot tub), and basketball courts.
Beautiful City rec center. An olympic size swimming pool that always has to lap lanes open, nice weight room, anaerobic machines that face a solid line of windows looking at the Front Range
Very nice temperature of the water needs to be just a little bit more warmer
Nice location, the free weights are a bit outdated and some key equipment is missing, like and incline bench. But overall it works, and the crowds have really died down since the location on Colfax opened up.
Pool is only open from 7:15 to 8:30 for families seeking an afterwork playtime with small kids. If you can come before 5, the pool is great!
Top quality equipment! Newer Recreational center! State of the Art free weights!Awesome, friendly and welcoming and helpful staff
Took my son swimming today and it was the best day ever! Great pool, great staff, and beautiful facility. So lucky to have this great rec center nearby!
Cheap. Everything you need, bring your own towel and save $50 a month (I mean opposed to other gyms, its not like a deal they have).
I like the facilities and the activities they offer to be in good shape. The pool has a small area for kids and also for adults.
Very clean and modern. Love the view of the mountains from the cardio equipment
I love the place. Its so nice. The basketballs are terrible. Needs new basketballs.
Great place to take your family. Get the MyDenver pass for your kids too.
Gets pretty packed during peak times but you can usually do what you need to do. Good vibe. Friendly people.
Really great evening center. Can get busy though on the weekend.
Love this place. Plenty of room for you. Great place
Very nice place to workout! The hours are very limited though. Amazing view from the cardio area.
Pros:Newish buildingNew equipmentGreat views from Cardio room.Cons:To many fans in cardio room. Difficult to break a sweat.Lots of kids aimlessly running around. They spray chemical cleaners on the water fountains and sometimes dont wash them off. Be careful.
Clean and not too busy. Great spin class and trail nearby
Lots of exercise options including cardio machines, weight lifting, swimming, and a basketball gym. They have two large pools: one for swimming lanes and a slide and the other with a kid friendly area and lazy river. In 2017 they cut the amount of time you can spend on the cardio machines down to 30 minutes from 45 minutes; many people still exercise for 45+ minutes. The cardio area is often busy around 5pm on weekdays and the pool is busy on the weekends. They also offer lots of great classes.
Most beautiful Colorado mountain view while on the treadmill... The water area is average. This center is smaller when compared to the Trails Rec.
Greatest rec center Ive ever been to cool pool friendly staff
Great newer rec center. My son loves to swim here
Its really a good place to go with your family has all sorts of things
Big fitness area and a 3 indoor pools and a huge basketball court I love it
Its a very nice facility, but it does become crowded at times. The indoor pools are great.
Great facility with new equipment, exercise or community rooms, pool, and large gym for playing ball. They even have a day care onsite. It will cost you a bit over $300/ year for membership.. so oys not that much different from alot of other gyms out there.
Plenty if space. Very good equipment. Great view.
Great value, has everything you need. Never tried the classes, wish I had had a chance to.
Favorite place to go and work out, so many things to do its definitely my first option its a must go for yourself place!
It just needs saunas.
The venue was very nice and accomidating. The staff was awesome.
Newer facility dozens of programs and classes excellent location on open land with miles of trails
This is my favorite Denver Recreation Center! The facilities are amazing and the equipment is in really good shape.
Kids love going around in the lazy river
The pool is great and there are really nice water aerobics classes.
