In the midst of demolition but the place is rad. Get there before it is demolished. It is vandalized but I actually love it regardless. Trails and picnic areas :) have fun, God bless.

Awesome short hike but super cool to see up close and personal. According to Wikipedia it was built to be some guys honeymoon cabin with his wife...bet theres a great story there. Safe to walk around and nearby, no easy way to get inside without some broken flooring or boarding up ️

After doing the Ives trail for hours, seeing this castle was the highlight of the day. There are fences surrounding the building and Im guessing it will get restored.

This place is quiet and cool. You have to find the best capture of your shots and its extremely challenging on a photographer like me.

Amazing to see how fast nature can reclaim anything. We walked on the orange trail and saw other buildings too. We tried to find the old ski slope but it is all gone.

Spooky castle in ruins... The city plans on demolition it so get there before it is too late. Hazardous if you enter!

The castle itself is inaccessible as it is temporarily closed for construction, presumably rehab. It is a nice wooded location with a trail head leaving directly from the grounds - though there are signs saying no trespassing during construction.

It was So Very Disappointing. Brand New Fence up All Around. For Me and husband. It was NOT worth the 1 hr 45 min car ride. Bur drove on the Back roads of Danbury and other towns. Now that was worth it!

Really cool and unique place. A must see. It is partially fenced off. Its overgrown and dilapidated so be careful if you venture inside. Also bring bug spray! Tons of mosquitos!

Worth the trip. Cool to see what used to be and whats still there. Careful with small kids, lots of stuff to get hurt on.

1996 - 1997 this was a cool place to explore and most people didnt know about it. It was in pretty good shape for an abandoned facility. It seems that its been wrecked by local heathens lately. It was once said that you could buy it for $1.00 if you agreed to repair it and use it as a home. Who knows if that was even true.

Haunting with all its lost glamour and decay, an overgrown historic castle in a wooded park. Bring insect repellent, loaded with mosquitoes but worth a few bites to see this building before its completely gone. Allegedly possibly scheduled for demolition for safety concerns, but Im still trying to find out more and if this is still happening....

20 years ago this would have been an interesting site to see, however, the locals decided to once again take something nice and interesting and vandalize the hell out of it.When I first saw it from a distance I was intrigued but as I got closer my intrigue slowly turned to sadness and disgust. Graffiti was on virtually every park of this castle and the air wreaked of spray paint.Seriously, dont waste your time.

City land with a sufficient parking area. Great for hiking, running, etc. The abandoned mansion is an added bonus. Very picturesque, especially at sunset.
