Had a great picnic lunch w good friend. Plenty of clean tables, well kept lawns and gardens and great views. A true Danbury gem.
This place is quiet and cool. You have to find the best capture of your shots and its extremely challenging on a photographer like me.
Spooky castle in ruins... The city plans on demolition it so get there before it is too late. Hazardous if you enter!
Nice day trip. Castle is in bad shape but still beautiful. Definitely check it out before you cant.
The castle is very nice but inside its a mess. You cant go inside because its very dangerous. Theres also a lot of garbage
The castle itself is inaccessible as it is temporarily closed for construction, presumably rehab. It is a nice wooded location with a trail head leaving directly from the grounds - though there are signs saying no trespassing during construction.
It was So Very Disappointing. Brand New Fence up All Around. For Me and husband. It was NOT worth the 1 hr 45 min car ride. Bur drove on the Back roads of Danbury and other towns. Now that was worth it!
This place is closed to public. No trans passing signs everywhere. The castle is closed with barb wires.
No trespassing any more. Being torn down. :-(
Really cool and unique place. A must see. It is partially fenced off. Its overgrown and dilapidated so be careful if you venture inside. Also bring bug spray! Tons of mosquitos!
Worth the trip. Cool to see what used to be and whats still there. Careful with small kids, lots of stuff to get hurt on.
1996 - 1997 this was a cool place to explore and most people didnt know about it. It was in pretty good shape for an abandoned facility. It seems that its been wrecked by local heathens lately. It was once said that you could buy it for $1.00 if you agreed to repair it and use it as a home. Who knows if that was even true.
Getting torn down. Not much too see
Nice trail to walk, you can bring your dog!
Really junky castle but it was kind of cool
Haunting with all its lost glamour and decay, an overgrown historic castle in a wooded park. Bring insect repellent, loaded with mosquitoes but worth a few bites to see this building before its completely gone. Allegedly possibly scheduled for demolition for safety concerns, but Im still trying to find out more and if this is still happening....
20 years ago this would have been an interesting site to see, however, the locals decided to once again take something nice and interesting and vandalize the hell out of it.When I first saw it from a distance I was intrigued but as I got closer my intrigue slowly turned to sadness and disgust. Graffiti was on virtually every park of this castle and the air wreaked of spray paint.Seriously, dont waste your time.
Great place need more interesting trips like this on the Bucket list. My Fiance And I enjoyed this place. Plenty of walking bring water bottle dont pollute unfortunately others dont care but beautiful place!
Its a beautiful, sunny place.
My husband and my parents loved this place. Good walk.
It’s currently under construction
Its a defaced ruin. Worth a quick look if you are at Tarriwile anyway.
Beautiful old house!
Very run down and dangerous.
Nice and scary.
City land with a sufficient parking area. Great for hiking, running, etc. The abandoned mansion is an added bonus. Very picturesque, especially at sunset.
The castle is covered with graffiti and it’s creepy as hell.
Never actually found the castle.
Cool hike.
A short walk. The castle has been vandalized and a fence surrounds it mostly.
Explore her while she is still there
King of the castle....
Ok
Nice walk, Should be restored
