It was great! Cool jazz in an old time jazz club atmosphere. Only the drifting cigarette smoke was missing. Small, intimate, sit right in front of the musicians if you wish. Highly recommended!

The Balcony Club is the Jazz fix you didnt know you were looking for. They have Temptress on tap and the music sessions are on point. The vibe is laid back and folks are cool...as befitting a jazz joint.

I came for an Open Mic night and I loved the atmosphere of the place. Such a cool little gem. The performers were exceptional and I couldnt think of a better way to spend my Monday night. Hope to be back again sometime!

They have open mic nights for singers and songwriters every Sunday, I believe? Could be wrong. But wonderful atmosphere. Very accepting of all walks of life and I love everything about this place.

Great place for really good atmosphere, stiff drinks, great bartenders!They bring in good acts, mostly jazz but it also varies! I highly recommend if you are into the more mellow, relaxed mature atmosphere.

Had soooooo much fun at this place! Saw two bands. Theres a $5 cover and its worth every penny. Drinks are cold and priced right. Bartenders are super friendly. All different kinds of ppl to hang with. See ya next weekend!

What a fantastic atmosphere! The band was amazing, and the drinks were on par. I think the only stressed person in the entire bar was the poor bartender running the place by herself. We will definitely be going back.

The Balcony is one of the best jazz clubs in Dallas and a great showcase for local musicians. I especially enjoy the Wednesday night jam session.

I have been here about a dozen times over the past 4 years. Always excellent live music. Not sure how they get all the band members on the tiny stage. Excellent vibe. Excellent date place. Be careful going down the steps when you leave.

I try to make it every Monday that I am off. They have an open Mic with a live band and the experience is defiantly one you dont want to miss. Liz Mikel is a great Emcee and is very supportive of all participants, giving them an opportunity to showcase there talents and a platform to express themselves. The bartenders are excellent, professional and treat you with the utmost respect ensuring you feel at home. You will definitely enjoy yourself!

Stayed for 1 show, but it was engaging and fun. Owner was friendly and even comped the drink he made, saying he didnt feel he did a good job. He did. Will definitely return

Quaint...Small Establishment...small stage...but nice atmosphere. Loved the live Jazz music... Only downfall...no room to dance. If they expanded just a bit...I would give it a five. Enjoyable evening out...not overly crowded...but recommend get there by 6 pm if you want a good table for the evening...otherwise you may be standing all night

A friend took me here on a birthday dinner date and then years later I visited here for a celebration of life for a good friend. Establishment is great but it was a little crowded the second time but it was Saturday night so it should be crowded on a Saturday night LOL the second upstairs area and restrooms were extremely hot but otherwise the rest of the building was cool. Saturday night had $7 Wells and $9 Jack Daniels. All I know its a great little place and I highly recommend it. I think the band changed two or three times so if you dont like one band see if another one is coming in later

Incredible culture here. Its so nice to know there are corners of Dallas with community, generous pours, talent and love, even on a Monday night. Inspiring, to say the least.

Randomly took my parents here while they were visiting. Drinks were stiff and the service was good. Band was good!

The atmosphere was great! Very laid-back and casual or you can get dressed up. A wide range of Ages come together and have fun. Come as you are on Monday nights and its free!!

This is a great venue for music and a great venue for drinks. Situated right in the middle of Lakewood theres plenty of restaurants around and plenty of parking.Definitely worth going if you like the music scene. Typically theres two bands per night every night of the week. Highly recommended.

Were so glad we found this place. Were fairly new to the Dallas area and LOVE live music. Open till 2am every night with live music and great drinks (great prices as well!) Well be coming back regularly!

Very small old and musty neighborhood venue. Gets overcrowded around 9:00pm. A cover charge at the top of stairs. Bands are so loud one cant tell how good they are (number of ppl, old stereo speakers x square feet).No menu to choose drinks from (no food sold). Waitress says they have full bar + beer & wine when asked. You will find out the price when you leave?Very casual (shorts+flip-flops) to dressy, kind of come as you are.3 stars because they help mostly older patrons have a good time...

This place is a Dallas hidden gem. Great music and nice staff. They have kept almost all of the charm to make you feel like you are in a small, no-frills jazz club...which you are. I hope they keep it the way it is and dont try to make it anything other than a place to see great local talent.

This place is spectacular. First, the bartender was incredible and the drink prices were good. Second, the entertainemt was phenomenal and FREE. We watched a pianist, violinist and female opera singer. The performers were so good - my girlfriend was in tears. I would give this a 10 out of ten, if I could.

A small quaint music bar/lounge in a quieter part of town with an older crowd. Small cover fee. Talented musicians played live blues music. Friendly staff. Full bar, handful of beers on draft. Crowd gets to dancing as the night goes on and patrons arent afraid to kiss in public. Drink prices seem to be typical Dallas $6+

This and the Free Man in Deep Ellum are the two places to which Id take a jazz aficionado in Dallas. Love their connection with local groups and the historic location. They dont make live music venues like this any more.

We love the jazz night. The music was very lovely and nice atmosphere.The drinks are extremely expensive and the bartender ignored me for over 20 minutes, but assisted my husband is less then 5.Very sexist.

Pretty awesome place. Raw and unsterile with a really cool vibe by the collective. The drinks were better than one might think walking in, the music unapologetically without refinement and the age range ran the gamut.

Always amazing live bands seven days a week and even better cocktails with an incredible personable bartender Ashley. My ultimate favorite spot in the metroplex.

Very small bar serving only drinks, no food. There was a Jazz band there, with no seating. The average age of the band and clientele was 60+. I felt pretty out of place.That being said, the location was neat, and I would have enjoyed the scene had there been anywhere to sit.

Best jazz club in Dallas. Low lit, live music every day, and an ambience you cant beat. Been around since the 80s, so support a Dallas staple. Perfect place to bring your lady or man friend to warm them up for a good night. ;)

Possibly the only true Jazz bar in Dallas. Incredibly talented house band and they have other artists come through all the time. Its a small place but super comfy, quaint, and just perfect in its own way. One of my favorite spots, personally.

Really cool place, unpretentious, good drinks. The crowd was actually really old the night we went, and maybe its that way all the time, but Id still recommend this place for younger people looking for live music and a comfortable place to sit and enjoy their drinks. The band was really good too!

Loved this place when on monday for open mic night and it was great evening with lots of talented artists and awesome band as well.

This was my first jazz club experience and wow! It surpassed all the expectations I had.The band, the staff, and the audience was all as one that night and everything just came together. The bass player was so welcoming to old and new musicians, really allowing the different talent and generations to forget any of their differences and just play.From a samba Christmas song to a postmodern Radiohead cover to a great Fats Waller...this place had it all.I would recommend this place to anyone looking to try something new or someone trying to find their place in a jazz club.

My favorite : Kenny and The Casuals are on stage every Thursday and Saturday nights playing favorites from 50s, 60s, 70s as well as some of his own music. they are on stage from 6pm until 9pm. Attentive and friendly wait staff and Bartenders. they also have Happy Hour daylay
