Alway loved going here as a kid back when they had the dollar movies. They have really nice staff and a fun arcade. Now they renovated it just like the big AMC theater’s but it’s still small they just changed the inside and the prices have changed too. Plenty of parking it’s near a pet store, Walmart and a couple restaurants and fast food.
I really like this theater, but am disappointed that they switched it to a first run theater. Were they not making enough money on their high margin snack bar? (I got 2 hot dogs, two drinks, and a popcorn today and it was 30 bucks). Anyway... Putting the price aside, its a great theater. Comfy seats, nice people, etc.
The theater has taken the necessary precautions and cleanliness and social distancing.
We had the whole theater to ourselves for New Mutants. So that was cool:)
Cinemark Theater in Bethel Road has been a favorite movie theater of our family for years. Although the outside ticket booths are rarely in use, the lobby is still very warm and inviting. The lobby also has a game area for the children. The staff is very kind and helpful. Making sure we knew when we could enter the theater and take our seats, they kept us apprised of the time. The decor of the hallways and the theaters is a little outdated but the luxury recliners more than make up for it!Our family will be back soon!
This is my go-to movie theater. Cheap, clean, always have available seats, good apps/online presence, reclining huge chairs, and close by. Their membership program is also good, $8 a month but you get free ticket every month (non-expiring) and 20% discount on concessions, and waived online fees.
It wasnt that long ago that second-run theaters were all but unheard of in Columbus. I can remember the Flickers Cinema Pubs, and Studio 35, but I dont recall any others. The advent of home video made it tough for such places to stay in business, and it didnt help that the prints were often in abyssmal condition. I used to be a projectionist, and I never understood what was so hard about keeping my first-run prints in good condition, but in most cases, prints looked like they had been dragged along fifty miles of dirt road by the time they were turned over to the second run joints.Enter the 1980s, and Cinemark Carriage Place: a brand new state of the art 12-house second-run theater, which was absolutely unheard of. Tickets were $1 with 50 cent Tuesday admission. Concessions were equal to that of most first-run theaters. But best of all, the print quality was nearly pristine and the sound systems were spectacular; I often forgot that I was sitting in a second-run theater. All these years later, little has changed. The 80s neon colored uniforms, complete with bow ties and suspenders, have been replaced with attire with a little more dignity. Cinemark has changed with the times, upgrading its houses to be compatible with 3D standards, and converting to the new digital hard drive-based projectors. This has come at a cost, but customers havent been hit too badly: admission has risen to only $1.75 ($3.75 for the 3D movies), with $1.25 discounts for matinee, seniors and the aforementioned Tuesday crowd. Concessions are as pricey as they are anywhere, but lets not forget its the concession stand that pays any theaters rent, not the ticket sales. At the end of the day, youre going to have a movie theater experience that is on par with most first-run theaters. Because the films are now distributed on hard drive with few exceptions, quality will not degrade, so unless you have to see the ninth Twilight movie the day it comes out, you are doing yourself a disservice by not re-evaluating todays second-run theater experience.
This is my new favorite movie theater. They have reserved seating, which is awesome. Their theaters are all new and renovated, with comfortable reclining seats. The prices are less than AMC and the theater is nicer.
The staff was little weird but overall not bad. Pricing on tickets is decent and they have deals on popcorn combos! The fountain drinks tasted good and popcorn was good plus I was able to get a refill the next day since the concession closed at night. Inside of the theater was mostly clean and the seats were comfortable. Would definitely go back!
1st time here since remodeling. Enjoyed Frozen ll with our youngest granddaughter and our nephew. They are both 6yrs old. Very nice, clean, comfortable seating, staff was accommodating and polite Great improvements in my opinion for this theatre. Well be back soon!
You cant beat cheap tickets and comfy reclining seats! If youre a rewards member (which is free,) tickets are only 5 bucks on Tuesdays. The facility is typically very clean and the employees are always friendly!
Amazing! Me and my wife go every single week. It is never crowded and the prices are very good (we usually pay $5.75/ ticket before 5 pm). Love it! I see all the movies there!
Its okay. There are better Cinemarks around. This one feels kind of dated. But I guess that adds to the charm?
Seats were comfy. Theater was clean. Didnt give 5 stars because one staff member was rude when I asked a question. Will definately visit again.
Its not the dollar theater anymore but the floors and chairs are clean. The upgrade to reclining chairs and sound are great too. Also as I get older I definitely enjoy reserve seating.
The new reclining chairs were nice, however the entire theater smelled like cat urine. It was strong enough that we considered leaving early.
Cinemark Carriage Place theaters offer a very similar movie experience to the neighboring larger theaters in Easton or Polaris. The price is reasonable. The selection of shows is great and the service is excellent.
Go to Marcus or Regal.Mr. Groll,Politely, I decline your offer of further visits to any Cinemark. I am no longer a patron nor a customer. My return for a later showing was just as I mentioned, information for a review. Since there will be no future visits and my review will remain negative, I will amend it to include your politeness and solicitousness.Best wishes,Beardos Hickritique
Great theater overall! Nice little entry lobby. The seats are very nice but the AC didnt seem to be working. There was also a little bit of a delay with the movie starting in the beginning but once that was taken care of it was a great experience. Would definitely go back!
My daughter loved seeing frozen 2, this theater is more reasonable priced than the other one in the area
Can you blame the movie theater or not. As an older adult I have a real concern about panhandlers around the theater parking lot. We get harassed regularly. My friend and I spotted this old white guy and quickly said good bye. He followed me to my car and then stood outside the drivers window. I tried to back out of the space. There was a car blocking my exit. Had to maneuver around the vehicle. My friend waited for me to pull out of the space. The driver of the blocking vehicle speed up behind me and then turn in the opposite direction. Do not recommend older adults go to this venue.
A decent movie theater with decent food selection and reclining seats that are assigned when you buy.
Was a good atmosphere yet felt corner5at the popcorn counter as if I were to run away with skittles. Tragic...
Pretty average movie theater. The building isnt particularly clean or look very nice and the arcade was turned into a sad looking party room. BUT the theaters themselves are clean, have good quality screens and audio systems, and have comfortable reclining chairs. I paid $8.50 per ticket to see a movie on opening night. I didnt like how they didnt have any of the movie posters or pop-up posters around. The only movie related photo op was the movie related t-shirts they sell in front of the concessions stand.
A nice, clean lace to watch a movie. The reclining chairs dont go back far enough. Our whole family thought so. But other than that it was a good time.
Hated this place when it was open. Employees were really rude.
My only complaint is loungers kind of hurt my neck and I end up having to lay my head to the side in between two seats usually everything else is fantastic
Cheap movie tickets, with the best seating. Prefer to go all the way here from my home town, and I pass 4 theaters to get here. Reclining seats.
This place is never busy so I like coming here. The seats are the recliners which would probably be comfortable for most but Im short so the head sticks out a bit too far for me to be comfortable sitting all the way up! The armrests do go up as well if youre going to the movies with a friend.
A very nice theater, and it was cheaper than most theaters in Columbus near our hotel. My daughter was amazed by the reclining seats (it was a first for me as well). Staff was very polite.
Great theater! Nice! Clean! With adjustable seats
It has grown from my favorite cheapo movie theater to now my most conformable - relaxing movie theater going experience :) keep up the awsome attitudes, and super helpful-friendly staff that never seem to be in a bad mood and always willing to answer questions or helps with anything you might have a problem with, they will make things right for ya
Took my wife to see her favorite movie of all time The Wizard of Oz. I am happy that they are showing older movies again on certain dates. Will be back in a month or two when another older movie that we like is playing. Every one was nice and the theater was clean.
There was a movie I wanted to see on a big screen. I thought I would get to see it when It finally got to the Cinemark. Weeks later I check the listing for the Cinemark and found, much to my surprise, that the desired movie was already playing there. I came to Columbus expecting to pay a couple of bucks plus a surcharge for the 3D experience. When I got to the Cinemark I was stunned to find that the admission price was now $8.50, not including 3D. Although this was slightly cheaper than my local cinema, I walked back to my car knowing I will only get to see the film only when I put the disk into my DVD player.
I like like theatre very much, been going since I was a teenager. I do wish the new seats were more comfortable.
Still a better value than most cinemas but seats are not so comfortable.
Ive been going for years now and the prices are still unbeatable. 15 dollars for 3 people to Bohemian Rhapsody which just released. Plus the recliners? Food is unnecessarily expensive but all is well. Still love this place.
This is a great theater. This used to be a dollar movie theater but it upgraded to first-run a few years ago. The prices are still the lowest around and the upgrades are nice. My family always has a good experience here and I hope it always keeps the feeling of a smaller theater.
Nice place to hang-out and binge on cheap movies
I adore this place this might even be my future job ahh the sound the seats the quality all of it fills me with joy
I think they should let senior citizens know about the senior prices... when my friend and I went there yesterday ( Friday 13th) it should have been posted where movie tickets are purchased.
Just started going to this theater again since theyve updated. Very clean, comfortable seating, first run movies. Especially like that seniors only pay 4.99 EVERY day and ALL day!
A shell of its former self. Somehow the fancy chairs make it feel more run-down then before. Dank, in the non-slang sense of the word.
Massively comfy reclining seats. Many snack + food choices. Super clean throughout. 1st-run movies at bargain rate - only $5 before 5pm. Terrific value.
Matinee showtime are such a steal!!! Great service and seats are very comfortable. Very good viewing experience. Can be a little cold but I brought my own blanket.
They now have recliners, but they raised their prices.
Very clean..love the leather reclining seats.
Definitely miss when this place was the “dollar theater” but the upgrades since then are really worth your time and money. Comfy seats, decently priced concessions.
Havent been here since it switched over to 1st run movies. Wasnt as crowded as other locations but was also late afternoon. Like other locations - has the reclining seats. Would go again if in this area.
Went to see Solo: A Star Wars Story. Movie was awesome. Theater seating is great and the movie ticket prices are the best in the area! Less expensive than many of the other local theaters. Great experience!
Nicely remodelled. Not the Dollar movie place anymore but has the $5 Tuesdays. There is a membership to join too. Pretty clean theater. Current movies
There are always good movies here, and prices are great. Staff is always nice and you also get free popcorn refills.
One of my favorite theaters in Columbus. Seats are recliner and comfortable.Tickets are reasonable. Also there is $5 ticket/movie on Tuesdays. There is some joining membership also which gives members joining offers and other benefits.Wallmart and other stores are nearby,so you can shop also after watching a movie. Also few restaurants are nearby Altogether a nice location.
Gross concession area. The butter pump had coagulated butter. The help desk was completely blase about even being there
Friendly people great admission prices
Oh my goodness are snacks overpriced. Even with the membership thing. But thats a movie theater for you. Overall its q nice theater. The recliners are become the norm, so its not really a great differentiation. But it was a pleasant enough experience and th kids enjoyed the movie.
This is no longer a dollar theater, there are so many movies that I missed because I was waiting to see them here for ALOT cheaper price when they went out of the regular theater. I will never pay regular price to see a movie here because the seats are horrible and the screens are smaller. This had been a dollar theater since I was in elementary school which was about 20 years ago. Now cinemark wants to suddenly make it a regular theater. I hope they like losing customers.
Best popcorn & I love lounger reserved seats!
Went to eatch Hustle. Was hilarious. Cant wait to get it when it comes out.
Seats didnt fully recline and prices for food and snacks are insane compared to other theaters.
I did prefer when this was the cheap movie theater but it is a good movie theater now except when moving the seats back and forth there is a lot of squeaking which almost sounds like gasping passed.
Every other Sunday I meet my sister here for the early show. Great deal at $4.99 per person! Comfortable with good movie choices.
Love being able to have reserved seating! Very comfortable and great beer selection.
Fun, clean. Good customer service. Not the largest theaters, but a good sound system.
It was a great experience. The service was awesome, my mom and brother are hard of hearing and got these little machines that gave subtitles from the movie. They worked really well and they enjoyed the movie a lot more. the facilities were good. The seats were quite comfortable, the arm rests were big and the cup holders were also good. The bathrooms had no problems whatsoever. Overall a wonderful experience a great time highly recommend 5 stars easily
Great little movie theater. Reclining chairs and reserved seating.Go large on your drinks and popcorn and its free refills.
Love this dollar theater! Its very nice considering the ticket prices. My hometown dollar theater was a trash pit. This one is well maintained, the snacks quality (and worth purchasing), and staff friendly!
I bought tickets for a movie at the last minute. They have pick your seat when ordering online. Only seats left were in the 2nd row. I was worried it would be too close and irritate my neck. I had surgery on it a year ago. The reclining seats were awesome. Had not been to a movie in quite awhile. Made me want to do it again soon.
My favorite theater in Columbus! Very reasonable prices and the seats are very comfortable now. No longer a 2nd run theater but the upgrades have been a fantastic change. Most recently went to a matinee on a Sunday and it was only $5, you cant beat that!
Best lounge seats around. Decent prices(3 after 4pm $20). But medium popcorn n drink about $13.00each.
UPDATE: They got rid of the second run cinema and turned it into a normal cinema. There is absolutely nothing to bring me here anymore.Original review:Great films, very clean and modern, friendly staff, and a great price. Its a second run cinema with a first release cinema feel.
This place is always amazing. We have a big family, and the prices here are a bargain. We love this theatre
A great small theater.
Aw man. My little dollar theater tried to move up in the world- but failed!Last time we went, I was told I wasn’t allowed to bring my book bag inside. Not only do I WALK over here, and had no car to tuck it in- I do go anywhere without my sons Epi-Pen and inhalers. Which I tried to explain to the attendant, to no avail. (I also at one point told them they could check my bag, and I’d be willing to hand over my bag until after the movie!) I lost out on the price of the tickets because I bought them online and couldn’t be reimbursed! The chairs that they upgraded to are uncomfortable.Stick with Marcus theatre at Crosswoods!
Theatre was still under renovation when we were there but the changes were very positive. Very comfortable recliners and ticket prices are relatively inexpensive before 6:00 during the week.
Always a great place to see a movie! A++ since the remodel!!!
Comfy seating and you cant beat the $5 movie Tuesdays! Reserve your seat online to get the best seats hassle free!
Nice reclining seats that you select when you buy your ticket. My favorite way to do a movie. Theatre and bathrooms always seem to be clean, although I wish they had the auto faucets.
I would definitely find a different theater as the seats in this one were not great at all. The recliners were cool but just did not go back far enough. But for a movie theater, not bad.
This is our favorite movie theater! Its always clean, seats are comfortable, concessions are reasonable, the staff is friendly, and tickets are cheaper than other theaters around.
This upgraded movie house is very good. Recliner seats, first run movies, helpful staff. Only drawback is the long distance between theatres over #7 and bathrooms.
Recently renovated and very lovely. I like smaller theaters and this fits that bill.
First time here. Comfortable seating. I liked how they had the concession stand nearer to the theaters vs having to walk out to the lobby.
Newly remodeled! New chairs that recline, reserved seating. They even have a small bar if youd like a glass of wine, beer or even a Margarita.
Not a big fan of the recliner fad for movies outside of the home, if you sit in the middle and have to use the restroom during the film good luck getting out. I liked it before because it was cheap and you could still get the theater experience. I would rather pay a few dollars more and go elsewhere, I will not be going back. I give it 2 years at the most before it closes permanently. Very sad to see, I had been going there since it opened.
The food was so great! A cook named Robert remembered and brought a steak out to my mother. This place is by far more professional than the east Columbus location. Thank you to the cook Robert.
The seats are so comfortable and the theater is clean. Loved watching two movies at this loacation.
Great place senior discount! Clean. Nice lounge chair seating.
Seating was comfortable, theater was clean. The downfall is there only 1 refill on the expensive popcorn. Its popcorn youre making a killing...
They advertise that they have a bar, but its not open on a Saturday at 6pm so Im sure its never open. Just go to Dublin Village AMC instead. If you are expecting a full movie going experience, you wont find it here.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this theater. All employees have been very nice and helpful. Restrooms & theaters are always nice and clean. You absolutely cannot beat the ticket prices. The snacks here are just as pricey as a regular priced movie theater.
Half hour of ads is silly, seats comfortable
The remodeling they have done is a big improvement. Electric recliners are easy to use and keeps you from hurting your neck looking up at the screen. The temperature inside was a comfortable level instead of cold like most theaters. We will be going back.
We were able to get our tickets ahead of time, which was nice. The tickets were only $4.99 before 4:00 on the weekend, which is a decent price for a good movie. There were also comfortable reclining leather chairs.
Great time with my kids daddy daughter time loved everything except the candy prices 5$ a box or bag. could have lesser candy for those who jus want to have a good time.
I loved the dollar movies! Now theyre gone? Sure now the tickets are a couple bucks cheaper than AMC, and the remodel makes seating more comfortable. But still, that leaves the area empty of a second-run theater. Hopefully some new venture will step up and fill the vacuum
