I absolutely love going to the movies here. They have put a lot of money into this iconic drive in to make things better, its a real gem. I want to encourage people to go and to donate if they can, to help this essential part of Columbuss culture stay afloat. They have done some remodeling and have made alterations in the efforts to prevent the spread of COVID -19.Thank you for keeping this movie going experience alive!
I had never been to a drive in before, so I wasnt sure how good it was going to be. Went on a Tuesday night and only 3 or 4 other cars were there on the side we were on. Picture was very good and the sound through my car radio was excellent. Since you cant run the engine during the show, bring a small fan to keep air circulating. We didnt have a breeze at all, but fortunately it was nice enough out to still not be too hot. Snack bar hot dog wasn’t great but not bad, cheese sticks were delicious, nachos were standard. Prices are very reasonable considering youre at the movies. If you want a safe way to watch a movie and still get out of the house, this is it! Movies change on Fridays, and theyre only open Fri-Tues.
A unique one of a kind concert experience in these strange times made life feel a little more back to normal. The theatre took certain precautions to abide by CDC standards and ensuring a safe experience. The lot was packed but the staff was helpful and maintained the madness of cars coming in. The choices of food were plenty and all was good. The lines were long but other than that, it was an awesome experience that I would love to try again!
Great drive in theater! We loved that you could choose to use your car radio or the car side speakers they provided. They also have great accessibility features for those who use wheelchairs. Bathrooms were very clean and the concessions had plenty of options. We will definitely be returning!
Best drive in concert ever! Brought joy to a heart that having some heartache...much needed inspiration and uplifting experience...sorry so many had to miss what I know many need...this was was tripled by the fact I had granddaughter and great granddaughter with me! 3 weeks old and she slept with such joyful music around her!
We pulled in to the lot and were unsure where to go. We had Mark, head of security, tell us the very best spot and helped us get all set up. He was SO nice and it was the best experience. Thanks MARK. We love ya!!!
Been going since I was a kid. Absolutely love the drive-in. Very inexpensive both in ticket price and concessions. Also you can bring in your own food if you like. You can even grill out before the movie (gotta bring your own equipment). Wonderful staff. Please clean up after yourself and turn off your lights.
Wasnt crowded at all. Quality was good, concessions has lots of affordable options. Kids had a lot of fun
Love this drive in! The speakers work pretty well, but I typically use my car speaker. The popcorn wasn’t amazing, but other than that, I always enjoy my time here.
This has become our “go to” date night. It’s so close to the city and allows us to enjoy ourselves with some semblance of privacy. Tonight was made even better by the supervisor, Mark, who helped us cover up our lights and made us feel like we were home. We will continue coming here and sharing this place with our friends and family for as long as possible and employees like Mark make that even easier. Thank you for operating such an awesome concept so close to home!
If you are looking for something fun to do and safe during coronavirus, a drive-in is the place to be. Both a throwback and relevant, a place you can bring babies and kids and teens and even a dog with manners, and cheap prices for hours of movies, this cant be beat for fun and value. And you support a local business in an area where we have lost too much! All this, and, for Columbus Public Schools students from the 1980s and 90s, fiestada pizza in the snack bar! A cannot be beat good time.
First time here and everyone was super friendly and the screen quality was great,my only problem was the speaker,it was very fuzzy sounding so we left before our second showing,it is offered via radio but we were outside in the truck bed.it was a beautiful night though and we will definitely be back.all cars are spaced out so its a great thing to do as a family, fresh air and covid safe environment.bathrooms were clean and refreshments available but we brought our own healthy snacks.
Place is a wonderful mini vacation from quarantine. Wonderfully priced and spaced nicely for great viewing angles. Cant wait to watch another film there.
Great family evening. Normally have kid friendly movies at one screen and more adult movies at the other both playing at same time. Decent snack bar too.
Can u bring your own food? Yes. can you bring your own beer? Yes. Are the movies cheap? You bet... What isnt there to love?
We love the drive in! Perfect activity for nice weather and the prices for both tickets and concessions are reasonable.
Love this place. Ive been coming here since I was a kid. So thrilled that it is still up and going after all of these years!
Good old drive in theater. Clean restrooms, ok snacks, what else do you expect? Kids love it!
We had a wonderful evening at the drive-in. Two of our group had never been to one and loved the experience as well. The COVID-19 precautions were well thought out - seemed safe but not intrusive
My review is based on the flea market rather than the movies. Though I understand that there are movies and things in the evening the times of 5 to 1 are really early and many of the vendors were leaving by 1030. It was a mixture of yard sale items and junk with a sprinkling of good stuff. It was very disorganized and I wish it was a little more consolidated. They do serve drinks and things at the snack bar which was nice. Overall somewhere I would like to see once, but not really somewhere I will go on the regular.
New to the Columbus drive in scene. Excellent adherence to social distancing. More directions at the front gate would be helpful for newbees when they arrive early. I think one of the women workers was having a bad day, because we didnt know about where to pay when we asked she got exasperated. We took it in stride... blaming covid. It was great see a movie on the big screen that my friend did special effects on and my sister in law was in.
One of our favorite places to go!! Love taking the kiddos. It never gets old!!
I find good deals on tools and miscellaneous goods at this flea market.
This theater is one of our favorite places to be in the warmer months. Staff is friendly and everything is very efficiently ran and organized. We’ve never had a bad experience, as opposed to other drive ins we have been to.
This is a fun place to catch some classics. We got to see Ghost Busters and Twister so far. Would definitely recommend it as a fun alternative to a normal theater.
Incredibly clean, high quality speakers and screens. It’s family tradition to come a few times a year and we’re in love. The staff is the nicest you’ll ever meet - it’s obvious they like where they work. Keep supporting them!!
Fun, romantic, ate lots of junk food and we were rocking! Lol! The staff, absolutely fun and awesome customer service, go its fun!
They did a nice job of protecting the public by requiring masks for public spaces. They also created space in the restrooms by closing some of the stalls and sinks. The concession stand line was also marked off to allow for safe distancing. We will definitely be back as a way to get out of the house and enjoy the summer evenings.
The staff made social distance parking super easy. The concessions were on point, fast and hot. After not going anywhere for a while they made it seamless!! Thank you for a great show!! XOXO
Such wonderful staff! We had some car issues while waiting to get tickets. Not shortly after my husband popped the hood, one of the parking lot attendants rushed over to help us out. Definitely saved us a call or a tow to AAA! He even helped us pick out the perfect parking spot to view the screen and continued to check on us throughout the night! He was extreamly pleasant, caring, helpful and made us laugh at a time when we were feeling a little stressed about the unknown car issue. We didnt catch his name, but THANK YOU for being a good person all around!
I didnt mind it, id never been there before and the driveway to the screens isnt really labeled so we just sort of found our way, theres a begining video before the movie telling you how the drive in are dying and its kind of a mood killer and they just keep saying it- its a bit annoying. Other than that, the speaker worked, the channel came in clear and synced with the audio- the screen was ever so slightly off. I didnt go to the concession stand or restroom.
I love movies and I enjoy going to see them here. I like the freedom to have fun and bring our own things. I also like the value of 2 for 1 pricing. I always donate when I go.
With all the chaos we’ve all had to deal with during 2020 I was excited to go to the drive in with my best friend and her kids. We came to see HOCUS POCUS AND BEETLEJUICE. The movies were played extremely well however we had one major downfall. From our car we could hear the loud obnoxious music being played from the front where tickets were being purchased and as the move went on the music up there just became louder and louder. The kids even asked if we could hear the noise over everything and it’s honestly ruining the whole experience. We had to have the kids sit near the speakers more just to hear the movie more than the other music. As much as I would love to give a higher rating the religious screaming music really takes away the fun.
Had a great time 10/17. Social distancing done right!
It was a bit disorganized when we first got there for Bert Kreischers show... However, after all is said and done it was a great night! The consession stand prices were actually quite reasonable! Then due to the fact you cannot idle while there, I left the keys on and drained my battery. They Maintenance Guy did not bat an eye and had the portable jump kit and get me on the road! If I were not 2+ hours away, I would be there a lot more often!
Its GREAT to have a place where friends even with kids can meet snack, play, and watch a movie together while maintaining distance. And being safe.
We love this drive in. Been there several times this summer.
Im very disappointed in the South Drive-in. Due to Covid, their policy is a car at every other spot to maintain social distancing. However as soon as they had the chance to make more money they continued to let cars in. The workers who are supposed to be enforcing this policy disappeared. By 20 min into the first movie, 80% of the spots were taken.
Always a treat. Clean bathrooms, great staff and clean grounds
Fun, friendly, safe! Loved it! Went with friends in cars and had a great time. Was nice to get out.
The movie was great we attended the A Night at the Drive-In event hosted by Michael B. Jordan and Amazon. It was really nice. I just think that they need to update their speakers theyre very bad quality the sound is not clear at all.
Its jolly good fun despite the pandemic conditions (June 2020). If you want to avoid the crowded concession area and get a good spot, come early (almost empty about an hour before showtime). Eagerly awaiting online ticketing!
I love this place, I remember my grandmother bringing me here as a child. Now I bring my kids here and I hope one day they will get to bring theirs here as well.
We seen Bert Kreischer live here. What a great experience! A little out dated but it was clean and the staff was nice as well. Cant wait to see Metallica here in two weeks
Nothing like the old drive in to make things feel like normal!
Brought family in to enjoy the flea mart. They enjoyed and all bought something.
Awesome place first timemer wife and I really enjoyed the walk around and seeing so many vendors, were going to come back for the drive in,thanks
Saw a comedy show here. Well run, good time.
Great place for family fun, especially while social distancing.
Affordable weekend activity with your family. Food prices are reasonable. We love coming here on summer nights.
Great turnout for sellers and buyers today....good finds all morning
It was a pretty good Drive-In. The concession stands are a little dated, and the screens can be a little hard to see sometimes in dark scenes. But overall it was enjoyable.
Very peaceful great movies, good food, good family time & they keep it clean also take the extra steps during this covid pandemic
The flea market and Staff here are amazing. Whatever your looking for at that Flea Market you will find it for cheap. I have been going on and off for years.
Had no idea South High Drive-In offered birthday party packages. What a great idea, and how fun! We had a blast
It was amazing! Go try it out.. a very nice family moment
Nice drive in. Could use more signs to help navigate in the dark but well be back
Drive-in happiness. Nice snack bar and clean restrooms.
I took my 7 yr old nephew and my 5yr old niece thier first time we had a great time they loved itv
So much fun. Watched children of all colors and ages play together before the movies started. Gsve me hope. Clean restroom.
Decided to goto south drive in on Saturday night of memorial weekend amidst the reopening during the Covid19 crisis. These people are doing a bang up job. With the exception of the long line to pay and enter, everything was great. Most people in attendance followed their list of instructions and those whom did not were asked to comply and all that I seen did. Awesome place to go to get family outta the house. Will be returning and also telling all my friends and family. Thanks South Drive In
Worst Drive in movie I have ever been too. We took two vehicles only to get there for them, employee, to tell us that my peoples vehicle wasnt big enough mind you I have a Yukon my people have a jeep. They ended up leaving, We stayed because we paid using a credit card. Once we finally found a place to park in a very disorganized parking lot, we were asked to move our vehicle to a different spot... a spot that had no speakers. I declined of course because Im not moving to a spot without speakers. During this time I saw several vehicles the same size as my peoples park. I still feel bad my friends drove all the way to that dump, waited for 40 minutes just to be told they there wasnt a space for them. I will never go back to this joke of a place.
Love this place great memories
Very nice staff, good speakers, and they are following great Covid guidelines! Fair pricing we will definitely be back!
We had a great time!!! Make sure you tune into the movie from your car/van/truck!! Thanks for a fun night.
Quick ticketing line, great social distancing measures, and brilliant movie choices. Loved attending!
I have been going there since i was 7 years old.. It hasnt really changed too much at all ..The staff is pretty nice but it smells like Woodstock.. I took my 10 year old daughter there tonight and I think she got a contact buzz from all of the weed that was being smoked. Grow up people if you want to be a stoner do it at home..
Like the south flea market one of the only drive inns kedt
Great time, great sound system upgrade and there were no issues!
Love the flee market as well
Good date night spot !! Food is always good, nice workers, clean concession stand, always play good movies, and they play kids movies too !! Highly recommend for anyone !
Lots of room but the movies werent good they were older. Speakers worked an porta potty available.
Always loved this place sense i was a child!
This is my weekly flea market drop theres always good people great time good staff very polite and helpful
Nice flea market you can find sum good deals.
This was such a cool experience! My first drive in, and what a great one, so close to everything in Columbus. A couple warnings though - at least in fall (I cant speak for how busy it is in summer), dont bother with the premium seating, its really not worth it because every spot is pretty good and its not full. Also, there are speakers so you can hear the movie, but theyre a little difficult to hear/understand at times. I brought a speaker of my own and tuned in to the radio station and had great sound quality, right in time with the movie. Youd have to put your windows up though, because the built-in speakers are a little behind and you get an echo.Regardless, I recommend going here if you want to experience a drive in! We got two movies back to back all for one price!
Love this place has always been a great family spot!!
You can tell they put a lot of effort into making sure the drive-in experience is authentic, with jaunty little placards that for all intent and purposes look like theyre from or are from the 50s-60s. The food is quite expensive though, and some of the designated parking is at a terrible angle to watch the movie from inside your car. I do understand that the speakers are mostly original, but many are leaning and the quality is dropping in the audio. Preservation includes maintenance, and it seems that all of it is invested into the projector and not the rest of the theater.
Had a nice night out with my fiance. We saw Jumanji and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Every thing there was done nicely. The sound was controllable and the screen was nice and big.
Nice drive-in with the usual. Good movies, popcorn, etc.
Pandemic concerts have been a needed good time!!!
Best place to watch Drive-In outdoor concerts
Great place to get the kids out to watch movies but watching them outside
I havent been to a drive-in for a while. It was a great time. Brings back memories. They are continuing to make improvements with technology for better picture and sound quality. People were friendly. Concessions were a little high priced for what you receive, but the admission price is low... So buy a popcorn and help keep the pictures playing. A great feature of this drive-in is that it has 2 screens. You have decent choices of movies to watch. Family fun and good times. Make some memories of your own.
Just a month ago was the first time my children ever been to the drive-in movie and they absolutely loved it its a great price for children and adults and its cheaper than the movies and its a great experience I want to take my family all the time and I absolutely love the flea market are Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Great Fun .. Great times..Great Memories to be made
This is a place to bring the kids. From seeing a movie to buying and selling flea market items
Definitely not adhering to social distancing... business as usual!
Loved it, great place for family to go watch a movie.
The speakers at the poles werent working and not everyone has a working radio. The food wasnt great or close to being fresh.
Excellent, cost friendly place to enjoy a movie!
Fleamarkets are grear
Its very classic, and a fun place to have a family movie night.
