So this is a cute little water park close to home. My husband is a disabled vet so I am unsure about civilians with no military affiliations being allowed on. The process was simple the life guards are everywhere watching after the kids. And there is a little something for all ages. This is not by any means a large park but def fun. No outside food or beverages band if you have a cwp you still cannot being firearms on base. All looks to be fairly clean. Def a nice time to spend with family
My kiddos and I love it! Return several times! Small but fun, lifeguards always on point! The price for entry is low, and food is inexpensive but good! I would also like to share todays experience. Shout out to management! As I was leaving a family was trying to come in with a dachshund but couldnt bring it in. So the older man and little girl took it back to the car and left it! Then the family tried buy tickets to cool off from the 96 degree day! The park DENIED them entry because they didnt want the dog left in car!
Great family hang out spot. We have been a couple times now and its never crowded like you think it would be. They have tons of life guards on duty and energy is really good at this place.
If you want to experience the movie “back to the future” this is the right place! Thank you to the Steve FM radio and the « computer »loud speaker!First of all the price! 13$/person its not worth it! So expensive. This place need a huge renovation.Locker rooms are unsanitary.I won’t mention the fact that the lock isn’t free. You come to the pool to enjoy your time, but for every little thing lifeguards are on your back with their whistle ! This isn’t pleasant.I went once but I won’t come another time ever!
While the kids enjoyed this my concern would be how hot the wood was even with mats over top it was scaulding to walk on and when you tried to hurry they blew the whistle at you for running.I did appreciate how the lifeguards actually did their job and kept things running smoothly. But I also think they were a little too aggressive in some instances.
The kids and I enjoyed our time, but I think its time to update some things. However, the price was very reasonable.Suggestions: add a wave pool and put a basketball hoop and volleyball net attached to the swimming pool.
This is a great pool/water park in Columbia. The different size water slides are great for kids of all ages. The lazy river is a good size. The pool and lazy river were clean and well kept. They have plenty of tubes and they come in double or single. I did not go to the kiddie pool or splash pad but we may venture over there next time we go. They also have pizza, hamburgers, fries, and other food you can order. If kids need a break from the pool there is a playground that is shaded. We have bought season passes here over he past 2 years.
This is a great place in the Columbia area to go to to cool off. My daughter and I had a great time and looking forward to coming back.
Went last week with the family, and within 20 minutes had to save a small child from drowning in the lazy river because his mom couldn’t be bothered to keep him close. He was clinging onto an inner tube with his nose just above the water, trying to scream for his life. I picked him up and wandered around with him for a few minutes trying to find his parent(s) before a lifeguard offered to take him.Overall the park is nice and has a variety of slides and play areas, though the teenage lifeguards are probably the most condescending jerks I’ve encountered at such a place. Seriously, if you don’t want to work there, save us all the trouble and just quit already.
They need more shaded areas. The pool deck and other walking areas are extremely hot due to the SC sun, highly recommend water shoes. It wasnt overly crowded on the first Sunday of the season. The lifeguards are very attentive and professional. Great and cheap way to spend the day. Dont forget the sunscreen!
We just left but it was really nice. Plenty of life guards and the kids had a blast
The water park was closed but the surrounding area was nice.
Palmetto Falls, it just opened for the season today, so we decided to check it out... It was very reasonably priced for military ID card holders and their families. It has plenty of seating and lounge areas. As for pools it has a long lazy river that takes about 10-12 minutes to lap the park. Nestled inside the lazy river is a wading and swimming area that ranges in depth from 3.5 to 4 feet. There are 5 total slides, of varying heights. As well as a kids zone and a snack bar.
Visited here over the summer and it was very fun. My favorite part was the lazy river.
Variety of water activities for all ages. Some lifeguards were not happy to be there and were yelling very angrily aggressively at the kids!
Nice small water park play place for the kids on Fort Jackson!.. They also have an pool for adults right in the middle so you can see the kids practically from any angle.. The lazy river is cool too in case you just wanna drift around while the kids play.. We have gone 3 times already this year and will definitely be going back again!
Its a nice spot to take the kids for the summer months.
Had a wonderful time. No long lines. Small crowd.
Its ok. Mostly for small children, there isnt much for anyone older. More than Id like to pay for something that size, and they dont let internationals with valid ID onto the base, so my friends day was ruined. Guess its nice if you have kids, but it gets a meh from me.
Fun nice Clean place to Relax with GREAT FOOD. NICE PEOPLE.
The water park itself is awesome, but it is a real hassle getting in. And no outside food or drinks allowed. WE NEED A WATER PARK IN COLUMBIA THAT EVERYONE CAN GO TO! THERE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH LAND TO BUILD ONE, JUST STOP BUILDING SO MANY STORAGE UNITS EVERYWHERE!
The place was really beyond what we expected. The lazy river is quite large and the 5 slides of different sizes were all fun. There is a regular swim pool too. There are plenty of lounge chairs in the shade and in the sun . A size little kid/ baby area with lifeguard. Theres even a nice playground with in the fenced-in area. Well worth the $7
I was like a little kid on the slides. So much fun for duch a reasonable price.
Place is absolutely amazing! So much fun! Theres water slides, lazy river, pool area, play ground, and plenty of places to lay out! Lots of shade areas abd they serve food and strings! Great family fun!
Very clean, well supervised, and a good variety of activities and different water attractions.
Nice place. Kids had a good time.
So many life guards (actively doing their jobs), and the water is no more then 4 feet deep. I love taking my 3 year old and 13 year old they have a blast Everytime! My favorite part is the lazy river.
Been coming here with my family for several years now. This is a great place for young kids and family. Even though my boys are older now, they still enjoy it. Lifeguards are always alert and courteous. The staff is friendly and attentive.
OMG, my grandkids cannot get enough of this place. Grownups enjoy the mist and shade too
Nice place. Great for kids
Thanks you fora very nice car show
So relaxing i could go every day
This is a nice family water park for all ages
I had a great time with my family. This was our first time here and we had our grandbabies who wanted to play in the water. Great place to go
Great place to take the family to cool off
Great place to relax, my 5 years old grandson, loves it!!!
Definitely need to get a family pass because we plan to go back some more this summer. It cost $7 for ID card holder. They have a small slide, and a bigger one on opposite side. They do have a separate kiddie area. Plus a lazy river. We stayed 3hours and were exhausted by the time we left. But it was alot of fun!
Unfortunately this is the only water park in town. Theres not much here except for a couple slides and a lazy river. I wish they had more to do including a wave pool. More slides for smaller kids.
The Family really enjoyed the day.
Great place for families. Not the largest water park you have been to, but offers everything you need. A kiddie area for Abby children under 36 inches, lazy river, large deeper pool, kids slide, 3 bigger slides, snack bar, and play ground. Life guards on duty at all times and offer first aid services.
This is an extremely small waterpark but nice to have on base. Since its on base though, I dont like that civilians have access to it. There was a long wait to get in the park, and the locks were super expensive. At least you get part of it back... There are 2 different types of slides, parents are not allowed to ride with small kids, a lazy river, kiddie pool, and splash pad. Theres a playground as well.
Very nice parking lot for basic training soldiers to run around in. Bring water.
Great place to bring your family. It has three water slides, a lazy river, a lap pool and a kiddie pool! Sandbar food is good and its got tons of lifeguards.
Did not get to rained out
Something for everyone! Awesome that they have this for military/government and their families! Its a shame Columbia doesnt provide something like this for its civilian residents! This park is not big enough, wouldnt be enjoyable and probably wasnt intended for use by everyone in Columbia. Just sayin!
Very affordableKids love it
Had a ball in the Lazy River, food was good.
Perfect for me and my 12 year old daughter to spend some quality time cooling off
Local water park conveniently located in Ft Jackson. Youre required to show ID to get on base. Then they do a background check before you buy a ticket...but the process is very quick. Its not a huge park but theres enough variety for a couple of hours to play & rest: A seperate area appropriate for toddlers and timid young kids. Water slides for young kids and older kids/adults. A wading pool and a lazy river of course.Theres nothing challenging but kids of all ages seemed to be having a good time. The park closes at 7:00 but the office closes around 3:00.Pros: Numerous life guards through out, lots of lounge chairs in the sun and shade.Cons: You need to get a key to access the only changing room. This is probably why the bathroom was VERY wet.
If its hot, you have kids and youre in the Ft. Jackson area and have access to the facility, its a nice little water park to visit. Get there early, shade is limited, unless you bring your own beach umbrellas.
Great place for children living on post to cool off in the summer
Great time and refreshing in this HEAT!
What I love is all the civilians claiming they cannot get on base. Shore up your lives and you will pass the background check. Stop complaining and giving low ratings because you didnt even get to the park to rate. Rate the base, not the park. Want to enjoy the water park, join the service. There is a reason for security. This aint Frankies Fun Park, this is a military installation. What I hate about the park is the entrance cost.
Fun for all ages..inexpensive
We love the Palmetto Falls Water Park on Ft. Jackson! Our grandchildren come to visit every summer and they love it, too. Its a great way to spend the hot, summer days we have here in Columbia.
This place is not worth wasting time
Great famly fun just dont forget the sun screen!
Had a great time!
Small water park with a new/clean feel. Most the staff is great. Friendly and helpful. Not the biggest or the best, but very family friendly.
Great place for the kids. Not crowed and great prices
Great place to relax!
Amazing place for Soldiers and there family members. (Retirees and veteran friendly)
Great local water park, although the background check DMV style setup was definitely a bit of an inconvenience before having fun
There was poop on the island, even after Makin the life guard aware it wasnt cleaned up.
Simple but well run
Good fun for kids - Place is managed well and they keep the undesirables in check.
Not the biggest water park in the world, but nothing to really complain about. Great place to beat the heat, especially with younger kids.
Looks like an awesome place but is currently closed for the season. Im willing to wait because I am just enjoying the cooler weather.
Palmetto Falls water park is a fun place to go to when I went I got in the lazy river and the slides. Its fun go on to Palmetto Falls!
Great spot for the kids. Hate the park doesnt stay open later than mid-august
Great place to visit with family!!!
Small park but great for the price
Life gaurds are attentive, clean, and fun. Snack bar is slow and unorganized. But we dont frequent the snack bar much. Visit at least 3-4 times a week.
Thrilled that veterans and vetted civilians may enjoy a treasure such as this. Only wish it would stay open later as working families may enjoy later into the night during summer.
My wife tried to get on last week, but was told at the gate that she had to purchase her tickets in advance. She came back home and purchased tickets online. Today, I tried to take the girls and was told that even though I had tickets I now had to pass a background check that took 3 days to complete. I was told that this was instituted 2 days ago. apparently MWR thinks I have the ability to alter time. If you are a civilian Fort Jackson doesnt want you there, regardless of what they may claim.
Nice and clean water park, would like to see the opening schedule to extend a little further.
Great place to visit with the kids
Affordable. Clean. And lots of fun. It is indeed a small waterpark, but boy, do my kids have fun.
A good place to get pictures of your soldier while on base visiting them.
I would honestly give more stars, except for their snack / lunch places long lines and wait time. Plus, the mats they put down, so you dont burn your feet on the hot cement, hurt my bare feet.
So much fun for all ages.
It wasnt worth the price. It also was complicated to get in. You have to park at the entrance to Ft Jackson and go inside a building. Then you have to give Social Security number and other personal information. They also do a background check. This process takes about 30 minutes. Its too much to go through for the water park.
It seems to be near impossible to bring our children to the water park here. I wanted to bring my son and his friends, but was told that there is a 3 day advance notice that needs to be given as well as background checks, and these can take up to weeks to be finalized. The children in Columbia have nothing to do at all during the summer unless their parents are rich and can afford those high end summer camps. It would be nice, and it will also bring in revenue, if this park would allow civilians to come here without the hassle. It will probably help reduce crimes being committed by kids that just sit at home all day while their parents are working during the summer. I understand that they want to be safe, but there are other measures that they can take to ensure everyones safety and fun. Its hard to plan a day at the water park 3 days out and waiting weeks on background check to be finalized especially when traveling with your children, their friends, and then other relatives.
Great place for kids
It was. Closed it winter the need. Hot pools lol on da real
This is one of the best water park me and my mom have ever been too if you want a good water park to go to you should go to and it would be best to order your tickets online before you go or you will have to go on your phone and do it in the office and do it that way.
Was not able to get on base to go to the park. I am a veteran and had my DD214 and a veteran ID and they still would not let me and my children on base to go to the park. Rediculous. Ive been to MANY bases in and out of the military and have never had so much trouble. A background check 72 hours in advance? Seriously???!
Best place to go relax.....military base....kids are well behaved....lots of life guards/pool personnel....clean, inexpensive...food on site that is inexpensive, too!
Small water park but very close to home and so relaxing!
If you want immediate access enlist in the Army like I did.
Great location and fun in the sun for the kiddos.
I never visited I probably passed its Winter I went to Frt. Jackson
Great looking place I was just hear at the wrong time of year
Awesome fun water park for a hot summers day.
So much fun. Perfect kids play place.
