One of the best over looks inside of Columbia City limits. You have access to the creek, trails, bike trails that connect to other parks, rock climbing, and plenty of woods and open areas to hang out and explore.

Capen is an absolutely beautiful spot to walk or ride bikes. Trails are flat and easy. The view from the tall cliff is magnificent. Also has some fabulous entry level rock climbing. I would recommend this place to all climbers looking to get outdoors quickly. The crag is around 200 ft from the parking lot. Very easy access.

Jump in the leaves and branches off the trees and its a good place to do that and if you want some mulch its not that high dollar stuff but it works put it down cover it up with the expensive stuff covers a lot more area and still looks. good

If you are a dog parent and are looking for off-leash hiking opportunities, this is the place to go. There are winding, seemingly endless trails to enjoy with your doggo, and unlike some other nature areas that allow for off leash dogs (note for first-timers: read the rules!), you wont often run into cyclists on the paths. In ten years, I can say Ive run into maybe one cyclist. Aside from the dog friendliness, the area is beautiful and offers myriad types of trails, from ones that are flatter and easier to your pretty steep hiking up to beautiful cliffs.
