When I first started my membership, my complaints were minimal. Unfortunately, over the years I have gone from being very impressed with the facility to highly dissatisfied!The membership cost is, in my opinion, unjustifiably costly for part time students, staff, faculty, and Mizzou alum! I find it especially disheartening that alumni who are not employed by Mizzou are forced to pay an annual fee of 150.00.I also find the hours of operation and the numerous facility closures dissatisfying. When I worked at the Rec we did not close for home games or have over two week facility closures twice a year. We did not have bank hours on Saturdays. The facility was open from 9am to 8pm. I find it ludicrous that the facility caters to the schedule of students and overlook the fact that not only students utilize the facility, but working professionals utilize the facility as well. I also find it unsatisfactory that members fees are not prorated during full facility closures! Whats the purpose of the closure considering numerous machines are inoperable after the closure?

Strongly Recommended:I have lived in and seen a lot of places in the US, and can definitely assure you that this is one of the the best rec centers I have ever seen. University of Missouri and in general city of Columbia should be proud of it.

Very clean, but one thing would be the seating area is really small had peoples knees on my back and I went for a swim meet yikes. Other than that I would recomend the back row if u dont like knees on ur back theres a convenient coffee shop right across the street from there.

Great facility, but I wish I could bring my wife and daughter with me. I also wish they would have a schedule up for the swim team so I wouldnt go out of my way to swim just for the pool to be completely full.

One of the main reasons why I came to mizzou

So long story short, I was dumb and forgot what locker I was in. We opened all the lockers and couldn’t find it, but luckily Tori and Alex were super nice and went to the video cameras to check which locker I put it in. This whole thing took like an hour and was super annoying, but they were really helpful and were nice and didn’t make me feel like I was wasting their time. The people who work here are very friendly and try their best to make sure you’re happy. But shoutout to Tori and alex, y’all are the real ones

I swim there quite often, since I attend school at Mizzou, and it is by far the best pool I have ever swam in!!!

I went to visit mizzou with my school and it was really nice

No better complex around. Staff is always friendly, machines and weights are always in great working condition and the facility has just about anything a person could desire. Entire building is clean and hours are about as good as it gets besides a 24/7 schedule. Top notch.

They practically have any recreation you can think of!

I enjoy lifting weights and the Pump room is Great! I do wish the machines and weights were on the same floor so I can super set but its not a big deal. The lockers also are great. They look small but can hold my 28inch duffle bag!

Great gym, horrible hours. Opens late on weekend and always closes too early for me to get a work out in. The pools also have awkward hours so good luck getting a swim in before or after a workout.

I totally understand why MizzouRec is constantly named one of the best campus recreation facilities. The staff is very helpful and the facility is kept in top shape. Multiple pools and sauna/steam room are great.

Great place to work out. Would give 5 stars but so many of the services cost more than a reasonable amount. Also they rarely notify general members of sections closing for events.

Not a single African American on the staff working at Mizzou rec. AA make up 6 percent of the student population at Mizzou and your telling me not one has applied to work at the Rec?? The current staff acts like your a burden to them instead of being helpful. Filing a Title 9 complaint for sure.

Im a MizzouMACC student. I was denied access to the rec because I am not a full time student at Mizzou. I stay on campus, pay tuition, pay for dining plan, have to do all of their Citizenship and alcohol edu stuff. And I can even play one game of basketball with my bros? Seems fair.

Great clean facility. If you are a serious bodybuilder it may be quite difficult to do supersets and may have to wait longer than your used. But other than that good variety of equipment and spacious.

One of the best gyms I have been to, and with multiple workout rooms which have a different style to them... Pump room is the best!

Its amazing.. very clean and well maintained. Staff are also very helpful and friendly... Well-maintained equipments too...

Great facility and good weight room. For the committed body-builder however, it falls a little short. No deadlift platforms or chains for bench press, even in the pump room. Other than that though, very neat with nice staff. Try to steer clear between 4 and 6 as thats when most normies choose to come here.

I understand that free weights dont provide the sleek look that impresses parents on campus tours, but not having a line of 10 people waiting to use a squat rack would be nice. Expand the free weight section!

Could do with more free weights, but there is a reason why Sports Illustrated called it the Best student rec facility in the nation

Its a great rec center but theres only 4 squat racks for the hundreds of people that go there. The summer hours are horrible but those are my only complaints.

Mizzous Rec Complex is truly massive . . its a special kind of massive, a sort of oh my god massive -- its truly expansive, and has plenty of room for you to exercise or work out.

Staff doesnt care about anyone. Got hurt while playing basketball, tore my ACL, they put me in a wheelchair and dumped me on the curb. I couldnt walk. The hospital was literally 2 blocks away, all downhill with sidewalks. They wouldnt push me there. They pushed me to the curb outside the Rec and said good luck and walked away. I hobbled to some grass and fell down. Over the next 30 minutes I managed to go half a block. Not one student offered to help me and cars raced by me. Mizzou staff in a golf cart said they were too busy to help me. The Mizzou Police refused to help. The officer I stopped said, good luck buddy. Finally a woman stopped and helped me after I assured her I wasnt a serial killer(Im not kidding). She thought a guy going 2 inches per step grimacing in pain was a potential serial killer... Welcome to Mizzou.I reported it and nothing happened. Mizzou is not big on caring about your welfare. Obviously... Thanks for nothing. What is messed up is I still have to pay for this even though I hate it. Students are required. What a joke. Why would someone who was treated like garbage ever support this place?What they did should be considered to be criminal. You want to talk about a complete lack of human decency? I experienced it first hand. Empathy is not something any of them had. Everyone involved should have been fired. Instead they went on thinking they did the right thing. Its just pathetic and sad.But its just another example of Mizzous horrific culture. It happened at the beginning of my first semester there, my first time at the Rec. No one at Mizzou cared the least little bit. Not a single person. They just didnt want to believe it, so they didnt.When I was in excruciating pain they had me fill out an incident report. This whole time they were telling me there was nothing they could do for me. 3 staff members looking at me like an unwanted piece of garbage. Then the leader out of the back office says, yeah just push him to the end of the sidewalk. What a bunch of horrible people. Think of how low your standards have to be to allow and foster this type of emergency response. They all should have been fired and they deserve to be sued.Notice in their reply they dont deny anything. There is a reason for that.
