Though not the largest Catholic church/basilica out there, St. Clements is still absolutely stunning. The architecture is in stunning Byzantine style. The color schemes, art, and inner structures are simply beautiful and awe-inspiring. Also seemed to have an excellent community with people of all ages, especially young families. There were at least 5 pregnant women in attendance.

Great community with many opportunities for service and spiritual growth. Large and active young adult group, if you are looking to connect with other Catholics in their 20s and 30s.Fr. Paul Seaman (the new pastor) is friendly and energetic. He gives insightful homilies and continues to work on his own spiritual development. The other priests affiliated with the parish are also fantastic, as is Deacon Tim Sullivan. He is generous and truly cares for the homeless of Chicago.

Well Im a Catholic, so Im basically on the team. What Catholic parishes are as different as pizza places. This one is wonderful -- and the outreach stuff they do for people outside the Catholic community is truly impressive.

Ive been there off and on over the years. Beautiful church, accessible priests, but not particularly reverent in my experiences. I tend to be more traditional (prefer that only priests and deacons offer communion) so that may be part of it. Also, its very family friendly so that may factor in, as it can be very noisy. Kind of meh in my opinion. Very popular though, so people must like it.

Deeply spiritual Contemplative liturgy on Sundays at 7:00 pm. Warm very friendly staff. Great homilies by in touch priest staff. Gorgeous art and artifacts including mosaics of 8 women Mystics and Doctors of the Church - plus Mother Cabrini. An excellent place to meditate and write on Saturday afternoons in the quiet. Best Catjolic experience

Beautiful building, lovely music, and good liturgy but the taking of the eucharist was a travesty. Crumbs everywhere, I had to lick my hand and fingers and that still wasn’t enough to get it all. How many people didn’t lick their hands, how much of Jesus was on the floor and being trampled by the prosession?

I have heard good things about this parish, especially with its efforts to welcome people of all backgrounds. On the website, there isnt a Gay and Lesbian Network listed for the parish. I do not know if one continues to exist. I hope that the St Clement parish continues to provide outreach for the LGBT community.

IF YOU ARE GETTING MARRIED DO NOT GO HERE! I am a Chicago wedding photographer and in 5 years of doing this job and going to many Churches I have not been treated with so much disrespect, nor have I seen a Bride and Groom treated so poorly after the ceremony on such an important day.A Church assistant essentially followed me around making sure I would not go in front of the first aisle to get IMPORTANT moments of the Bride and Groom, parents and Bridal party. Even with a very long lens I had lots of trouble getting the moments I needed too because of their restrictions. These types of restrictions are common with many Churches, but I have never seen them so passionately enforced. The logic of these Churches is always, that they do not want people looking at the photographers, they want them focused on the wedding taking place and my response is always well duh! I have the SAME goals! Why would I be doing anything that took attention away from that?? So shadowing me and restricting me from doing my job only acts as a dis-service to the Bride and Groom who have paid me to document their day for them in the way that they have seen on my portfolio, which sometimes involves getting closer that 50ft from the Bride and Groom. After the wedding ceremony we had family formals. I was told that we were quoted a half hour for family formals but another Church assistant came up and informed us we only had 15 minutes, which is one thing on its own as Family formals take at least a half hour to complete. I have to say I made a mistake here. Even though I was told 30 minutes by the Bride and Groom I should have double checked with the Church that this was the case as this is a detail that can slip under the radar. However, even though I admit to making a mistake on time. The Church assistant who came up and told us we only had 15 minutes because another wedding was coming in began breathing down all of our necks 10 minutes in saying things like (AND I QUOTE) ..you guys are reaeealllyyy testing my patience here... TICK TOCK TICK TOCK and Im just going to keep standing here telling you to go, until you leave..We finished the Family formals in 20 minutes. Everyone was stressed, everyone was annoyed and the Bride and Groom were just dumbfounded by his behavior. Absolutely ridiculous behavior.Considering what an important day this is for two people, the lack of consideration was nothing short of amazing. I get it, they are a Church they have their schedule, they dont care about the photography of the wedding day because in their minds that has nothing to do with them. Which is my point, If YOU care about the photographs that you will be looking back on with your loved ones for the rest of your lives of this incredibly significant day that you share only once with the person you love most in this world then do not go here, because that is not a priority to them.

Man if I were still single... hellloooo nurse! Although, seiously people, were in church, put some clothes on for Petes sake. Its a little distracting to see all that thigh and bosom when were here to focus on God.Very young crowd and pews filled up. Great to see that anywhere. My only gripe is why not kneel for the Ecce, Agnus?? This is the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world...we ought to be prostrating ourselves before Him, not standing around like guests at a dinner party! The church is a beautiful structure in the ancient Roman-Byzantine dome style. Reminded me of the Pantheon in Rome a little.
