I cannot believe this lovely little park called Garden of the Phoenix is here for all to enjoy. It is very pretty and so quiet. We found parking near 5900 S. Stoney Island then walked East for 6 minutes. We also walked along the paths and saw the museum nearby. There is a busy street, so be careful.

Easily one of the best parks around. Ice Skating if free in the winter if you have your own skates, otherwise its $7 for rental and no admissions fee!

Really beautiful place to sit and read and hang out. Its a beautiful slice of green that makes you feel like youre not in the middle of the city. You can also hear the bells from the nearby tower some mornings, its very lovely.

We found this cool spot while visiting on vacation.

Good place for ice skating. No line and enough space on the ice to move around. They even had walkers for kids to help them skate.

The jazz fest was wonderful weather was nice. I had a great time listening to the live music, food and vendors were out there with great clothes, jewelry and etc to purchase. Loved it

First time there it was an event it was lovely..... didnt get a chance to explore the park tho.... it was jammed packed with ppl from all over for the Carnivale

Great Caribbean festival. Enjoyed all the vendors as well as the DJs worth every penny.

Ice in good shape. Warming house adequately sized. A bit crowded with shoes left all over the place.

Nice events park but need to be careful with the neighborhood. Especially where you park your car. Not only for people around it. Dont leave anything of value on seats. Include lap tops and cell phones. Also police be checking to give out tickets.

Great park. Ice skating in the winter and soccer practice in the spring and fall. Theres always a reason to go!

It is picturesque! Right in the heart of the University Chicago campus. Wide open space ideal for large social events, long walks, or a nice Intimate picnic.

Bantu Fest was held here and I have to say this year was a bit disappointing. From navigating to the entrance to getting through the line to the performers and music. I expected more of an African influence and was sorely disappointed to be honest. The food there could have been much better too.

Its a recreational park area near University of Chicago. Beautiful place just to chill. In the winter, theres an ice rink and summer a basket ball court.

Its a beautiful place. I visit U of C hospital all the time I also attend events at the Midway like concerts and ice skating.

Hyde Park Jazz Fest, Noteworthy Jazz Ensemble was GREAT!!! Band instructors and teachers in a band, cant wait for their next gig!!!

This is a park area located on the campus of the UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO. Despite the encroaching and constant expansion of the UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO the park remains neighborhood friendly. The space around the college campus stretches from the lake westward to Cottage Grove. Enjoy soccer, ice skating, biking and just some nice peaceful flat land in the park.

We had a great time at the Caribbean Festival and Parade! The food was good too.

Nice greenspace between Hyde Park and Woodlawn. A fountain on one side and, seasonally, a skating rink in the middle. Lots of events held here and people playing sports.

This is a beautiful park, great place to go for a walk but the streets need to be repaired, so watch out when driving down this street.

This is a wonderful place to utilize in Chicago. We have our all class picnic in this park every year and have been for the past 6 years.

Nice park, no handicap parking at the festivals. So although handicap accessible no parking to get there.

The annual Hyde Park Alumni Cookout was amazing as usual. The park was great, the weather was amazing!

I was at a dancing event it was excellent for space the restrooms were clean and it was a great venue to end the summer

It was great! Plenty parking. Good food experience at the Ghana Fest. Security was seeabke. People was genuinely friendly. The weather was awesome. I would go back for any event.

This is a good place to relax alone or with a group. Theres plenty of space for whatever outdoor activity fits your fancy. It sits directly in the middle of the University of Chicago and provides views that are very nice and peaceful. What makes this park great however are the mostly free events that are held throughout the year. During the summer the Chicago Park District holds movies, dancing, concerts, the list goes on. During the winter they have hockey and ice skating. They also provide a calendar and list of events on their website.
